Good food for the price, quick service, and friendly staff!

Not a pleasant restaurant. The vegetables were old, dry, and tasteless, and the fish and chips were nothing special. The staff were not particularly welcoming and seemed more interested in getting reviews than providing good service.

We are in Amsterdam tonight and the staff was not nice. My friend ordered pasta and there was glass in his food, and we wanted to pay for the machine, but the man in the staff was being difficult. I find that unacceptable and disrespectful.

A wonderful night! They have a window seat on the second floor that looks over the canal. The food was wonderful! We had steak, seafood pasta, pizza, and fettuccine with chicken. Very good, exceptional personal service. Highly recommend. (We were a walk in customer)

The environment is very nice and the view is good if you are seated near the window, just near the canal. I had pasta, it wasn't the best yet still good. The waitress is very kind. Prices are good for a place like this. The art pieces in the restaurant and the decorations hanging up from the ceiling is also good, its like a little bit museum if you ask me. I am only dissatisfied about the portions. I was waiting a bigger portion to be honest.

I visited Ristorante Italiano Azzurro during my trip to Amsterdam in 2018. Located in the iconic Zeedijk street, it's a restaurant with character and a classic menu that has stood the test of time. I'm so glad to know it's still open, as it's a landmark for those of us who walk through this vibrant and cultural part of the city. A solid and authentic option if you're looking for Italian cuisine in the heart of Amsterdam.

An incredible experience… our Roman friend (seen in the photo) was absolutely blown away by the culinary delights offered at this "ristorante." As a true Italian, he raved about the pizza they conjured up here. A return visit is definitely worthwhile.

Food was pretty mid, water was €7… nothing special.

Absolutely amazing place & delicious food

Had the chicken fillet special. Chicken was dry and poorly seasoned, salad portion was small. We were offered choice of sauce for chicken, which we quickly realised was at an additional cost (even the ketchup and mayo too), and this was not stated on special's menu / by the waiter. We were also asked if we could pay by cash despite already saying we wanted to pay by card. Sadly whatever good atmosphere that could have been experienced was marred by the air of stinginess.

The Restaurant ist beautiful with a nice ambiente. The music was calming and all in all a very nice restaurant. The personal was very nice and always there for us. The food was really tasty and for the prime it was exquisite.

Kind staff, good atomsphere and decent food. Finding a good restaurant in Amsterdam is not easy, so this can be a solid choice given the circumstances.

Good ambience and the best pizza I had so far

They were extremely rude to customers, practically rushing us out the door; they dragged me over to settle the bill before I had even finished my drink. When I turned around after paying, they had already cleared away my glass. They also aggressively demanded a tip. The older man and the bald guy both had terrible attitudes.

The food was mediocre, not to mention the drinks. We ordered a Mojito and received a drink without mint, lime, or cane sugar, which is the basis of this drink. The limoncello was also very weak. The older gentleman who served us was very rude. I don't recommend it.

Finally found their business card again, so I can leave a review as promised... My wife and I, together with some Dutch family members, visited this restaurant on 18 Nov 2025. We were celebrating her birthday and were looking for a nice en Amsterdam's gezellig (cosy) restaurant and chose Azzurro in the end. We were looked after well, had some lovely pizzas and... even arrived on the "money board " as our new AUS $5 note replaced the older version.! Overall lovely and recommendable!

When I ordered a hot water and was confirmed a few times did I want a tea, I told the service guy I want just water no tea, he said I still need to pay for a tea price, to which I agreed. Then the guy flipped the menu with a sound right in front of me. I called him out for not being nice this way to a customer, he went mad and hostile. He’s like “then what should I do”, “check the camera”, “don’t give me a lecture”, and not letting me talk at all. I came here for food, not for an attitude. Plus the place doesn’t even look so authentic. There’s a better one just a few steps ahead with real Italian level services(who said nothing & just fairly charged me €1.5 for the water), check it out yourself on the map.

The prices were okay and the pizza was good, but the service was really lacking. The waiter was unpleasant and made disparaging comments about other customers, thinking we didn't understand. And most importantly, the pasta carbonara was nothing like the photos; it had a strange taste and we were sick afterward. I don't recommend it!

Very cozy Italian restaurant not to far from the central train station. Excellent service (dining solo and was immediately ushered to a window seat overlooking the canal) and surprisingly good food. Plan on taking my wife here someday:)

A rude waiter almost forced us to tip and got angry that we didn't understand what he was saying because he spoke English with an Egyptian accent and even though we told him to put 5% tips on the POS he put 10% on his own and the highlight was the hygiene of the place! In front of everyone, they would dip the dirty glasses in a basin filled with water and soap, shake them a little and then rinse it with the glass machine only inside and a little and then let it drain with the soaps from the outside and the saliva of others

It's a nice restaurant, the tables being too close together is a disadvantage. The service is fast and friendly. The food is quite sufficient.

Worst pizza of my life, but I guess edible

I came to this shop in the afternoon to rest 😴 and have lunch 🥢. I was the only customer there. The owner was very funny and welcoming. I planned to relax here for a bit before going out to shop again.
