I almost didn’t go in here because of the reviews but I said to hell with it because of how delicious everything looked. And I’m glad I did - who cares about the “older” blonde woman - it’s so terribly ageist for people to say this - shame on you. If you’re trying to “get” someone just leave the time you visited - check yourself. Anyways I am pretty sure the woman who waited on me is the one everyone talks about - and there were no issues. I pointed at what I wanted, I paid, I left, and I’m now a happy little fat man in my hotel room. Ignore the stupid reviews - the product is amazing, and a little grumpy service is charming in my opinion when the product is so good.

I just bought a cinnamon bun and an almond chocolate bun and they taste awful! Too greasy, too sweet and stale, like they stood there for a couple of days. It's 9am, the pastry should be fresh... Never coming back.

Ugh, those chocolate cakes and raspberry tarts are THE BEST. My kids don't want marzipan-themed cakes with whipped cream, but a cake made with passion. It's not cheap, but it always leaves you wanting more!

I came here 4 days in a row for the mini lemon mirengue pie, which is the best I have ever tasted! Macarons and other desserts were all delicious as well.

Beautiful pastries and treats. Even the displays get you excited to try the treats. Good amount of seating. Would definitely come again to try new things.

Food was amazing. They spoke English just fine. We ordered sandwiches, coffee & dessert. They made our sandwiches from bread we chose in the bakery. The service was lackluster (their priority is the bakery) but it was good enough for us.

My eyes widened when I entered. Your mouth starts watering when you see all that delicious food. Very friendly staff, neat shop and most importantly: my whole wheat healthy sandwich with ham and cheese tasted delicious. We ended up here by chance and it is definitely a real recommendation for breakfast or lunch.

Beautifully made food fresh everyday. The staff were so welcoming and very kind to us. The food was affordable and the coffee was perfect. Visited for breakfast twice while visiting Amsterdam - would go back again!

was really looking forward to trying this place with a friend, especially after hearing great things about their pastries. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. A slightly older blonde woman helped us, and from the start, she seemed disinterested and unwelcoming. When we asked for recommendations, she barely engaged with us, which was disappointing but we decided to let it slide. We ordered two vegan pastries, paid, and went outside to try them. To be fair, they were delicious, so much so that I wanted to buy more for someone with severe allergies. Just to be safe, I went back in and asked if the pastries labeled "vegan" truly contained no dairy or lactose, especially the chocolate one. Her response was dismissive and unkind, which really caught me off guard. It’s sad to see such a beautiful store with genuinely great pastries have its experience ruined by poor customer service. A little kindness, passion, or even just a smile would’ve made all the difference.

The staff are extremely rude , like if they were forced to work there . The baked goods are cold and stale, and the coffee is horrible. Avoid it at all costs.

Very bad store and bad service, was helped by a blonde woman around 50/60 who gave me the wrong thing and then got angry because she thought I wasn't clear enough. Very rude woman.

At 10:00, yesterday's baked goods are on the counter at a greatly inflated price. I bought an almond croissant and regretted it. This is not what you expect from a bakery at all.

Decent (amount) cup of coffee with a delicious buttery speculaas. The pastry used to be better. The raspberry tart was too sweet and lacked flagrant and flavour...

They have some incredible cakes, the lemon one, my favorite. The problem with this place is that when you enter you can't decide what to take and you want to buy everything.

The blueberry muffins are way too dry. Totally dehydrated. Looks like they've been in the store for 3 days.

Super rude service. The ladies that serve you probably would prefer to see you choking on one of their average baked goods than smile or even be polite with you while you are spending a good amount of money on their products. Avoid this place, there is plenty of nice bakeries with lovely staff in the area!

I highly recommend it for those who love good pastries and are willing to pay the price to taste beautiful things! A wide choice that tempts you.

Probably the best bakery in Amsterdam by the quality of the food. Sadly, its owner is incredibly rude and unpleasant. What she brings in quality to her baked goods, she brings down with her attitude.

Heaven if you love bread & cake. We had the pleasure to meet the owner and we admire her & her teams passion and creativity. The result is a delight to the eye and sooo tasty! We are adicted ;-)

Out of the 4 places I tried, the best bakery I found. Coffeebroodije (apologize for spelling) and Apple pie just excellent. I went out of my wau from Houthaven just to come here and get their pastries. Always excellent.

Great assortment of pastries. They had an open kitchen and it was amusing to see people making the baked goods, making you realize that there‘s a lot of hard work put into each of the creations. Bought a croissant, pain au chocolates, and carrot cake for take aways. Do notice there are quite a few ‚rules‘. There‘s a sign that mentioned that ‚no self service allowed‘ which means that you need to point and mention the ones that you want to bought to the employee despite the patisserie display being right next to you, unlike in some other places where they are positioned behind a bar. Also, if you want to dine in, apparently they charge you a 1€ cost extra. It didn‘t affect me, but if you want to come here please have that in mind. These rules can come across as weird and uncomfortable for some customers, so I would recommend others to enjoy the pastries at home for a hassle-free experience. The price point is higher than average, but the pastries are huge. Would come again when I‘m in Amsterdam.

I agree with the many many comments here about the horrible attitude of the owner. Unfortunately, she doesn't seem to read any of these reviews or she doesn't care. We are never coming back.

Foccacia was great, but the service - worst I’ve experienced in Amsterdam. As I took my phone out of my pocket to pay, the lady screamed “NO PICTURES”. I thought it was a joke so I laughed and proceeded to pay. After paying my friend and I went to sit, and the lady said we couldn’t (although it was empty) because we took for food take away (we didn’t, nobody asked us). The service was so impolite, I won’t be going back.

Expensive, not pleasant, pay extra to eat inside. Sausage roll is heated up in the oven, so it is no longer crispy.

Do not accept cash, even if you can pay the exact amount. This excludes a large group of people who do not fit in with this time and this city.

I can’t understand how this bakery is rated so terribly - it’s absolutely fantastic. I almost didn’t want to come here because of how low the rating was, and I can tell you 3.8 stars is unfair and undeserved. The first ‘kaas’ croissant I’ve ever had, and I’ve always wished a bakery would make that (without ham). Every single pastry looks beautiful and well executed. We also ordered a piece of apple cake, a chicken pie, and a caramel macaron. All excellent, especially the apple cake (perfectly baked, balanced flavors, I would pay for the recipe). I’ve seen some reviews mention hygiene, and I haven’t seen any sign of anything less than hygienic. If you’re a lover of patisserie and baked goods, please give this place a try!

I tried a variety of baked goods from here today and every single one of them was superior to most that I’ve had in my life - and I just returned from a trip to the south of France, where croissants were on the table every day. Thank you for your dedication to your craft. Don’t ever take that cheese croissant off the menu! Or the macaroons, or the apple cake.

Whenever I’m in the area, I stop by to buy something to go. The display is beautiful and everything I tried was tasty. Unlike some other comments, I found the ladies working here friendly.

Jan 2023 The products are still really good. The ladies are awefull. Second time this month they are so busy with their 'regular' guests that they forgot to say goodbye and forgot a few items you've bought. Enjoy the 4 chocolate desserts that are on your counter ... Last time ever ... 3 stars since the bakers are so good ... Really nice products, especially the baquette and pastries - try the chocolate explosion ... to sit down it's oke but to take home it's a place to be. Also the presentation is awesome and staff very attending.

I bought Spelt Volkoren today, and i’m literally angry. This is not a bread, it’s a scam. I can buy something better in AH for half this price. Huge disappointment

Heerlijke producten, hoewel erg prijzig, maar grootste bezwaar is de onvriendelijk blonde dame die nauwelijks oogcontact maakt en terwijl ik pin al wegloopt van de kassa zonder me aan te kijken of te bedanken.

Wij waren altijd een grote fan van “ Bakken met Passie”. Wij komen zelfs uit het Gooi om daar te kopen. Een van de vele dingen die we daar kopen zijn de “ croque monsieurs” maar de laatste paar die we gekocht hebben waren droog, en echt slecht. Ons idee is dat er fors bezuinigd wordt op de duurdere ingrediënten zoals kaas, boter, ham en béchamel. Kortom we gaan niet meer naar hen toe om product te kopen ivm de hoge parkeerkosten en het matige product. Wie weet is de zaak niet meer in handen van de oorspronkelijke eigenaar. Jammer maar het is niet anders….

This is an amazing pastry shop. Amsterdam is not really known for its baked goods, but this place stands out (probably because it’s a French bakery). Focaccia is amazing. Croissants are really delicious. So many great options to choose from

A little bit too expensive ( 3€ for a chocolate croissant ) but the quality is perfect.

We tried the carrot and vegan chocolate cupcakes which were both delicious! They have many different desserts and pastries and they all look super nice. Next time I’m in Amsterdam, will definitely come back here!

Was hesitant because of polarized reviews but loved it! Had wonderful cappuccino, croissants (regular and cheese & ham), focaccia and cinnamon rolls. Highlight were the croissants. Friendly staff as well.

We took two stuffed foccaccias which were very good, I put only two stars because of the staff, an agressive blond lady was very rude and unfriendly... Also saw other customers complaining about her in the comments... Which confirms this behaviour from her on a regular basis. Would recommend for the food though..

This shop is close to Albert Cyup market. Variety of bakery items to choose from. Fair prices. Happy with service.
