8.95 for a pastry bar that also tastes very mediocre. That's why there's no price listed.

We bought bread and four different pastries. The whole wheat bread was tasteless, and the four pastries were expensive and didn't add any flavor.

The bread they have tastes good, but the choice is not that big.

A very kind waitress helped us. The tea was fine, but unfortunately, no decaf coffee. The cakes were OK, but the chocolate wasn't the best.

Nice bread and pastries, but the bread often has holes in it. Not something you should expect from such a baker

I had paid 3.70 too much and she could not give me that back. I had to wait 1.5 hours. Could create a tikkie at home via tikkie and was paid back within 5 minutes (that was nice) But for us never going there again, no excuse for that. And the cherry turnover old and dry.

Got cherry turnovers at 11am. At least a day old. Too bad for that price

Nice store, unfriendly woman behind the counter. Been a number of times but this is the last time. I bought 4 croissants for 4.75, promotional price. They tasted like they were 24 hours old.

I have never given a company 1 star before but I have been really disappointed by this bakery several times now! - We received both the (very expensive) profiteroles and currant buns frozen while they are sold as fresh without mentioning this. - The employee cannot tell us anything about what is in the product. We wanted to buy a muffin. But when asked what was in it because of an allergy, we were repeatedly very irritated by saying: I don't know, I wouldn't know because I've never had it myself, and I don't have a list of ingredients because it doesn't come from here. - The employee is very unfriendly!

All I can say is beautiful store, beautiful products, but what bad service! I ate a snack sandwich here. Firstly, the bare hands were placed on a plate, which I find very unhygienic. Then asked if she would like to bring another one for my party. She was busy cleaning so she was using cleaning products!!. With her hands with which she had just cleaned the countertop, she repeated this again with her bare hands without tongs or anything. This time I asked if she wanted to return it because what she did was not hygienic. And asked again if we could have a pastry. And what does the lady do again? She even picked up the cake with her hands and threw it on the plate. I'm still sick of the idea, unfortunately I couldn't say anything at the time because I'm always very polite to people, but if you work in a bakery shop then I expect hygiene rules to be adhered to!!! At checkout it was completely strange. Because the lady charged an extra 1 euro for eating it in the store and separately for my company😆 Have never seen this before, I know De Jong is a Dutch surname but they are probably intrigued from America!! In any case, I will never have a sandwich at this branch again

Beautiful shop, with the tastiest bread in Veenendaal!🍞 The cream cones and yellow cream croissants with strawberries are also highly recommended!😍

Little choice on Saturday, far too expensive and the lady behind the cash register was far from friendly, they are no longer there for me/was my first time in the store and the last time

Very beautiful store! Pastries also get more attention and you can drink a nice cup of coffee. We never buy bread at the supermarket anymore and my son likes to come along for a piece of bun or currant bun. Staff also friendly and always happy to chat about how things are going. Top!

Bought 2 tompouce this morning, at 8.30 am, unfortunately not fresh, the puff pastry was tough. We have experienced this before, and 5 euros is quite a lot of money, too bad!

I personally find the branch in Veenendaal the least enjoyable. It has everything it should have in terms of products but it lacks personality and atmosphere. A shame because the products are great. I usually walk past it now because it is so unpleasant. Really a sales place without personality, you might as well go to a supermarket

Went back this morning with half a whole wheat meal when it turned out that more than half of the slices had a huge hole. "It's good that you reported it," said the saleswoman. I was astounded when I heard that I was being reimbursed €0.50 on the grounds that there were also slices that were good. So this was the last time I set foot over the threshold there.

Placed an order for 4 cakes a week in advance. The day we came to pick it up, they changed the order without any consultation or knowledge. Nothing was said about it when the cakes were delivered. Only when we wanted to put it in the bag did we notice and they confessed that they had changed the order because they no longer had strawberry cake. Then all kinds of excuses like: "strawberry season is over so it is difficult to obtain". I took it against my better judgment and the advice of a store employee. After 10 minutes in the shopping center there was still a bad aftertaste left and we went back to return the cake and get a refund. Instead of taking matters into her own hands, the store employee behaved very unprofessionally and did not want to cooperate. They claimed we opened the cake and the box was torn. After much discussion and arguing, I finally got my money back without any apology. Orders have been placed a week in advance and if you cannot meet the demand, you should not accept an order. And certainly don't try to secretly give another cake. In short: very bad experience, unprofessional and antisocial. Plenty of other excellent bakeries in the area. I avoid this one and I recommend it to everyone else.

Lots of choice of bread, delicacies such as pastries, peanut cakes and so on.

The sausage rolls were, are and still remain the tastiest in the Gelderse Vallei and Utrechtse Heuvelrug. We were able to taste it 30 years ago while working in Remmerden (Rhenen) and today we had the opportunity to buy something again. But I didn't regret it! Be sure to taste it!!

Get a sausage roll every Saturday morning.

Not so happy with De Jong bakery! Currant buns may come from the freezer. Bread selection mediocre, never even floor rolls or anything, always just those dough balls. Pastries are fine, but the bread offering could be much better!
