Bakkerij Koning in Wijk 00 Hoogkarspel

Thought I'd get some nice fresh white rolls. But unfortunately, I got some old stuff. Thanks for ruining my lunch.

The saleswoman might not be at fault, but the policy of this (franchise) bakery is becoming very customer-unfriendly. Recently, I was expecting a visitor and ordered and paid for some pastries in advance for the next day. When I got home, my visitor called to say they would bring sweets. I went back to the store and politely asked to cancel the order, which I was able to do, but I couldn't get a refund. (Strange, because I had placed this order an hour and a half earlier.) I was given a gift card that was supposed to serve as a credit. I wanted to get some pastries again, but the amount was €2 less than the gift card, and I couldn't get this back either and had to spend the full amount. Not very flexible in this regard. I also didn't get the strawberry tart I pointed out, but a pre-wrapped one that was so covered in condensation that I couldn't even see what it looked like. I'd noticed before that the quality of this bakery has been declining for a while now, and that it's actually smarter to cycle to another bakery than to be consistently disappointed at this one. This was my last visit to Bakkerij Koning, and I think many others have since joined me, as you hardly see any customers anymore. UPDATE: After filling out the contact form on the website, they politely and kindly apologized and took appropriate action.

Just good bread, nice people....

Bought whipped cream topping once and never again. Good for the dentist.
