It is still an old-fashioned village bakery. For many people a place to chat while buying delicious fresh bread, cheese and real Limburg pies. Or a nice coffee to go. Staff is knowledgeable, pleasant and helpful.

Very nice bakery selling traditional 'Limburgse Vlaai'. The pie was taste wise very nice and had a great texture! Some pies can also be bought in halfs

Do not order pie online from this bakery. Ordered a pineapple pie online on Thursday, March 21. Immediately received a confirmation of receipt stating the collection date of March 22. Called on March 22 to ask what time I can pick up the pie. I am told that, contrary to the date stated on the confirmation of receipt received, the order can only be picked up after 2 days. Okay, mistakes can happen. The saleswoman asks where I want to pick up the pie on March 23. Indicate that you want to do this in Eijsden. Called Eijsden again today and they indicated that there was no pie ready for me to pick up and I was asked to call the branch in Gronsveld. Proverbially being sent from pillar to post again. This is the umpteenth time that I have called Bakkerij van Weerdt. The end of this story is that I was not able to pick up a pie because they simply forgot to process and handle this order properly. Van Weerdt Bakery gets the “cold shower” from me. Very bad experience.

The sourdough bread is delicious! You would make a detour for it!
