Banketbakkerij Bliek in Binnenstad

Picked up another large whipped cream cake here today. Something had gone wrong with the order: the cake was square with fondant instead of round without fondant. But wow... What a delicious cake!! ❤️ Sizzling fresh. And the fondant is rolled so beautifully thin—that way it isn't such a 'layer' between your teeth. That way it really is tasty. Beautiful with fruit on top and chocolate curls. Super festive. This is still a real artisan pastry chef. You hardly find that anywhere anymore. Highly recommended 👍🏻 Still. ( 3 years ago): I had ordered a large whipped cream cake here for my birthday. The cake was delivered to my home right on time. It was a truly gorgeous cake, really such a beautiful birthday cake. And oh boy, was it delicious!!! Wonderful! Everyone said it: what a delicious cake. The cake was completely finished. Too bad... I would have liked another piece 😁 I would highly recommend this pastry shop. Absolutely fantastic!

Dirty restrooms; I don't think the wall tiles have ever been cleaned. Prices are high. The floor tiles in the store, including the dining area, are also extremely filthy. There's been a tear in a sofa for months. Ugh.

Nothing special, just good food with reasonable prices. Friendly service.

The Walstraat branch charges €3.50 for HALF a loaf of muesli! I wanted a whole loaf, so I paid €7 (SEVEN). I thought it was a mistake, so I went back. On the website of this branch's cousin, the same loaf is listed for €3.49 for a WHOLE loaf. So the Walstraat branch is TWICE as expensive! Especially because they're a "bakery"? I even suspect they get their muesli loaves from their cousin around the corner and then double the price. Don't buy there! I gave them 3 stars, meaning they're "neutral."

What a lovely lady who knows her customers and always has a kind word for everyone. Delicious buns with custard. The Waldkorn bread is also delicious. We'll be back to this bakery next year for our holidays.
