Delicious breads and sweet treats. The staff are all super friendly. A real baker like there were many in the past, but which are no longer found much these days.

We ate delicious oliebollen and apple turnovers.

Bought oliebollen and apple fritters this morning. I thought they would be super tasty! Apple fritters super greasy. And dough is not tasty either. Oliebollen are super greasy and spongy. Not crispy. Waste of my money. Tomorrow I'll get some tasty oliebollen and apple turnovers somewhere else.

Incredible pastries, both savory and sweet. So incredible you might be driven to a life of crime. I go out of my way, past other bakeries with sunnier terraces and hipper signage, when it's important how the pastries taste. There are some reports of unfriendliness towards foreigners but (for what it's worth) I haven't experienced any of this (as an american poc). My kids like raisins now after a complimentary krentenbollen, a completely novel dutch pastry for us. I try to add a small measure of respect to balance out any perceived disrespect from not knowing the language. In general this seems to work to let folks know you're not one of those annoying english speakers that always takes the situational upper hand simply by being an english speaker. But the pastries, they're amazing. Try not to tie up the workers and clear it out - it's not a sustainable way to consume good pastries.

What friendly staff work here and what a beautiful bakery! And then I haven't even mentioned the bread that is sold here. I will definitely come here more often!

It seems as if the bakery there has something against non-Dutch speakers... especially the owner. (yes, it is his business and it is up to him how he addresses customers, you could say) very blunt and unfriendly.. once spoken you about an incident, twice already. but it looks like something structural...a pity because it somewhat cancels out the positive reactions. A course in customer friendliness towards foreigners/different speakers would be welcome. I'm surprised that there are no responses to negative reviews. It would be nice to see why this happens. It could be that the owner has had very bad experiences with non-Dutch speaking people. That could at least explain his behavior towards them.. there are several sides to the story... a pity and again a pity and out of date!!! Greetings...a concerned customer

Nice pastry shop where you can buy bread, pastries, ginger cookies, cheese sticks and much more. I almost always buy the gingerbread there for 2 euros, very tasty, highly recommended, friendly staff

Very unpleasant experiences here. Owner is a short-tempered/aggressive man. Waves people away if they don't like him immediately and has a very strange way of communicating. Definitely not recommended.

Not a safe place for tourists or people who don't speak Dutch yet. We were yelled at for not being able to speak Dutch. Ladies at the front were nice and tried to understand us, then suddenly the baker yells from the back that we should speak Dutch. Very uncomfortable.

I was asking for coffee in English and immediately got a racist comment by one of the workers. It’s sad this still happens

Racist old man employer. Stay away!! We asked for a coffee and he started asking why we are not speaking in Dutch and we started arguing.

Unfortunately we did not feel welcome here. We are international students and were confronted with racism. He (the baker) was not happy that we ordered in English and angrily told us not to speak English (and said how would you feel if we came to your country and spoke English). Well, in my country we would be hospitable and help everyone. Disappointed with the service and how discriminated against we felt. The ladies were nice, but the baker was downright racist.

Positively surprised by the quality. I ordered pastries that were delivered on time and well packaged. The quality of the pastries was great! To be repeated!

I'm an ordinary customer who hasn't encountered anything I don't like! Our daughter is also a fan! and I often have to stop by for her! The heron (name was told to me last week) is our favorite, but whatever bread you take... it's all equally delicious! The rolls (hard and soft) from here stay just as tasty in the freezer. The pastries? Stop! The round coffee rolls with icing *homnomnom* These are so soft and creamy!! But here too, we haven't encountered anything we didn't like!! And in addition, you are welcomed here with a big smile and a chat... something that I find very important in this society where everything has to move far too quickly. I hope to see you next time soon 😁

Broodjes zijn heerlijk! Personeel altijd vriendelijk.

Brood wordt kennelijk in de winkel afgebakken, maar niet goed. Grote luchtgaten onder de korst. De man achter de toonbank vindt het normaal om seksistisch denigrerende opmerkingen te maken en zijn vrouwelijke collega's af te vallen. Gênante vertoning. Na de verbouwing weinig veranderd. Ik kwam er weer eens uit noodzaak, maar geef voorkeur aan bakkers bij IBB, Biltstraat of Nieuwegracht.

Wat een heerlijk brood bij deze fijne bakker. Sinds ik in utrecht werk rijd ik er graag voor om want het brood is echt ambachtelijk en de overige produkten heerlijk vers en vriendelijk personeel. Echt aanbevolen deze fijne warme bakker met veel lekkers!

De monchou taart was verukkelijk!!

Heerlijke taart en gezellige sfeer

Geweldig heerlijke saucijzenbroodjes die je aan Vivien hebt gegeven, zoals vanouds, groetjes Trees en Emile Coulier. We hebben genoten.

Via toptaarten een mokka taart besteld. Hij was super lekker. Naar mijn mening super groot maar beetje te klein voor 16 mensen. Was meer dan zat voor 10. Maar dat is ook het enige negative dat ik had. Verder echt een top taart! Als ik volgende jaar weer mijn verjaardag in Utrecht vier, weet ik al waar ik mijn taart haal!!

Altijd heel vriendelijk personeel en heerlijke bonbons, broodjes en gebak! Ik ga er regelmatig heen!

Mijn verjaardags(slagroom)taart kwam hier vandaan. Hij zag er mooi uit, werd mooi op tijd bezorgd (9.00) en smaakte heerlijk! Heel goed dus.

Werd 12,55 euro aangeslagen voor 2 tompoucen, was een foutje denk ik. Ze waren wel lekker!

De banket bakker die met sint en pasen nog hand gemaakte marsepijnfifuren en paaseieren maat ga zo door veel succes

Alles is er heerlijk,vooral de wintertaart en een Tsjechiës gebak waar de naam even niet meer van weet🙂

Zeer vriendelijk personeel/eigenaar waar ze de lekkerste moorkoppen van Nederland verkopen, althans...kan me niet voorstellen dat er bakkers zijn die lekkere moorkoppen maken vers in eigen winkel. En voor het kopen van een volkoren brood, mijn tip: Utrechtse volkoren!! O,ja! mijn bijnaam daar is...Mr Moorkop😁

Heerlijke artikelen mooi assortiment

Heerlijk vers brood. Super hartelijke bakkersvrouw! Onze favoriete plek om oliebollen te halen met Oud en Nieuw ook al sta je buiten in de rij, het is er altijd gezellig. Mijn dochter wil het liefst een monchou verjaardagstaart van Verspeek. En de slagroomtruffels zijn ook onweerstaanbaar.

This must be the best baker of Utrecht. Not only is their bread delicious but they also sell the best pastry and excellent chocolate you can imagine. Now with Sinterklaas almost arriving, they make their chocolate letters again! Hurry, before they're sold out.

Leuke bakkerij met verschillende soorten gebak en heel lekker! Prijzen zijn goed en alles is goed georganiseerd. Voor de volgende keer weet ik naar welke bakker ik moet in Utrecht. :)

Lekker brood en gezellig ontvangst

Top bakker met vriendelijke eigenaars plus medewerkers. Ik koop hier ieder jaar mijn Medovnik taart bij deze bakker en ieder jaar is het zeer smakelijk.

Het wintergebakje/skigebakje is een absolute topper en een echte aanrader! Het gebak doet zijn naam eer aan met een bovenkant van poedersuiker en hazelnoot schuim. Daaronder een voortreffelijke slagroomlaag zoals je nog zelden ziet. Daaronder een laag heerlijke kersen overgaand in een super lekkere gele room laag. Wat een meesterlijk geheel, het lekkerste gebakje dat ik ooit proefde en naar verluid de specialiteit van het huis

Zoek niet langer. Sluit ze op. Uitstervend ras. BankètBakkert pur sang.....
