Bao Asian Kitchen in Breda centrum

Really delicious sushi, bao buns are great. And you get more than enough, so don't order too much at once. 😉 Recommended!

The meal we ordered met our expectations. It is worth visiting this place for lovers of Asian cuisine.

The sushi was delicious. The shared dining dishes are on the large and pricey side for two people.

The restaurant is cozy and modern, decorated with Japanese accents. On tap, they only have Japanese beer, Asahi, which is a bit pricey at €4.50 for a 25cl glass and €9.00 for a 50cl glass (which should normally be a bit cheaper if someone orders a larger quantity). When ordering, I indicated that I didn't want a certain ingredient in the dish. While eating, it turned out it was still there. I removed the ingredient and explained to the waiter that it wasn't quite right. The response I received was: "Oh, I did tell the waiter, but apparently the kitchen misread it." I said, "It's not a disaster, but I'll let you know," and the waiter said, "Well, luckily there's not much in it"...and that's it. No one suggested I might want a new dish, or offered any compensation at all. 🤯 I'm not the most difficult person, but if a mistake is made, I expect a small apology or something, right? Now for the food. I ordered the most expensive sushi, Diamond Shrimp, €19 for 8 pieces, which works out to about €2.30 each. I expect top-notch sushi, but it was just a California roll with fried shrimp on top. I couldn't finish it all in one bite, which is usually the case. Nothing special at all, and so expensive. Fried sushi, the tuna was still raw, I expected it to be cooked, but oh well... Bao Beef, 2 pieces for €11, each roll contained 3 slices of beef (stir-fried). Yakitori noodles were okay, but unfortunately, that was the dish I wanted without that one ingredient. In short, unfortunately, it was the first time for me, and also the last.

We stumbled upon it yesterday after shopping. We had a delicious meal there, and the service was very friendly. It's not very big inside, so it gets noisy quickly. But otherwise, it was a truly wonderful experience. We'll definitely be back!

I went here for the first time last week with some colleagues. And… we sat there enjoying ourselves for four hours! Bao Asian Kitchen had been recommended to me before, but now I finally got to experience why. Okay, it might not be the most atmospheric or romantic restaurant, but it's certainly nicely decorated and the seating is comfortable. The service is friendly and the prices are average. So far, so good. But what about the food? Well, you probably expected it, but the food is incredibly delicious. They have a good selection of different sushi and side dishes. I was happy to see that the sushi selection wasn't all the standard sushi you see everywhere, but Bao certainly had many of their own delicious variations as well. Everything was wonderfully fresh and the flavor combinations were superb. And the sushi was beautifully presented. However, some of the slices were a bit wide, making the sushi a bit too large to fit in your mouth. But that happens, of course. Besides sushi, we also tried the gyozas and the chicken satay. While the chicken satay was delicious, we didn't find it particularly special. The gyozas, however, were very flavorful. Speaking for myself, I definitely want to go back to try other dishes. Or that one dessert that just couldn't fit in tonight! And Bao also has a second location in the Markt, focusing on ramen! (Bao Ramen Kitchen) So we're certainly not done eating yet...

Bao is one of the best sushi places I know. The quality is superb and it's incredibly delicious. I'll definitely be back.

We had another delicious meal at BAO. It's truly one of the best sushi restaurants. And the people who work there are so lovely! They're also very accommodating to your dietary preferences. It's really nice when they take it seriously.

Wow! Food & Price 5/5 Very tasty and qualitative! Ate with two people for €40. 4 Varied dishes, really enjoyed it. (Dimsum, Dumplings, Steamed bun with fried tofu and Korean fried chicken (first time, that's chicken on a different level 😂). Both ate enough, was certainly not too little. Service 5/5 Very friendly, both Dutch service and someone of Asian descent, clear enough in English and of course all the necessary knowledge about what is what etc. Fast service Atmosphere 5/5 Atmosphere completely good, no noise, music not too loud, cozy candlelight, beautiful decor and appearance. Highly recommended! Big compliments to the owners!

Excellent sushi and consistent quality.

Made a reservation for 2 people from 7:30 PM. Seemed like a nice restaurant and wanted to find out if this was the case. After a day the reservation was thrown out for no reason and reservations could no longer be made in the evening. Extremely disappointing.

To be honest, I thought it was a bit disappointing. I expected something more in terms of flavors, but I thought it was a bit more boring. For example, with the spicy crunchy Salmon sushi, tortilla chips were used, which could also have been spicy nori crackers. They could add more of their own flavors, for us it really felt too simple and that's a shame for what you pay for it! We thought the salmon ceviche was really tasty, it had a bit of an explosion of flavors.

So we almost indicated right away. Was no problem at all and food was on the table in 10 minutes. Top service and super sweet ladies. Food was also great. Delicious in taste. Portion was big enough. Hotpot was really hot and especially in temperature. Also deliciously spicy. Normal prices and beautiful dishes.

In my opinion the best Asian restaurant in Breda! Delicious, fresh ingredients in the sushi as well as the woks. The cocktails are really unique and tasty as well.

Very friendly service and a nice meal outside on the terrace. Various options from sushi to small tapas-like dishes such as shrimp, wontons, pork belly, etc. to main meals such as kon poa chicken. The only downside was that they forgot our order and that we had to ask for it ourselves after 40 minutes....

Went to dinner with my family on Wednesday evening. Nice restaurant. Nice menu, good service. Nice meal. Definitely want to go there again.

You will really find the best sushi here! Tried everything from dumplings to duck pancakes. The sushi really stood out.

We spontaneously went here for dinner on Sunday evening. It wasn't busy. Cozy atmosphere, friendly service and very tasty food. We had an extensive meal and drinks for about €55 p.p. Very nice to order different dishes and try everything. Highly recommended.

Super nice restaurant, had a delicious lunch on Saturday afternoon, it was not busy. Service very friendly and the food more than top! The bao crispy chicken and beef were super tasty, tender meat, well filled. The chicken gyoza also really delicious. The three dishes were shared between the two of us and both were satisfied. Definitely recommended for good food for a good price!

I placed an order via home delivery some time ago. the non-vegetarian food was good, the vegetarian food was not: very watery, and the sauce almost certainly contained fish sauce. The quality was generally mediocre, especially for the high price!

I visited the restaurant on Wednesday evening - it was packed. The nice lady at the service was polite and quick. The food was delivered surprisingly quickly and tasted very good. The Korean chicken had a pleasant spiciness. Maybe a bit too much for a beginner in terms of sharpness but I thought it was great. The bao burgers were great. However, there is no main course (for a man), so if you are hungry you should order at least one more dish. Location design and atmosphere get full marks from me.

Food was tasty. We ate for €200 and took what was left with us. Afterwards it turns out that BAO charged us €1 for the two containers in which the food was placed to take home. I really don't think it is acceptable to be charged €1 when you have eaten €200. Nor has anyone said anything about this.

i went here with a few friends, making a reservation ahead of time is pretty important since it is a quite small and recent restaurant. the food was great and it didn’t take too much time to prepare. the prices are pretty accurate to the quality, not if you’re on a budget but a fun treat nevertheless. the only complaint i have is about he service, specifically about the lack of contact from those who work there (didn’t come by too often, didn’t offer as in we couldn’t purchase water from the faucet), some could only speak english but that is very common and not a problem at all. i had a few smaller dishes and a cocktail but i payed about the same as a friend who had one (main)noodle dish, a dessert and a cocktail. i personally had the most expensive cocktail on the menu and was a bit disappointing but that could of course just be my own opinion, the presentation on the cocktails i have seen was quite nice though. the side dishes i had were quite filling so i ended up sharing my gyoza with a friend. what i had: edamame, gyoza and the wakame salad. each of us spent between 22-39€ (budget is doable by having a main dish and a drink). the food selection wasn’t too big if you exclude the sushi but the drinks had very many options in most categories. one could either decide to do shared diner or just pick a main dish, or both (if you’re really hungry and want to spend that money).

The food was nice, at least the sushi and Bao. We ordered a main dish, with an empty restaurant, took 25 min to have the sushi. After 1 hour waiting, we gave up to wait for the main dish.

We komen daar al jaren. Super lekkere sushi. Het is wat duurder, maar zeker waard om te eten!

Vorige week donderdag hier gegeten. Sushi was top! Cocktails prima, rest ook goed. Van de bediening was er eentje die ons de hele tijd vergat, maar het andere meisje (wat alleen maar Engels sprak) was super lief en behulpzaam.

Via Uber Eats besteld, er was wat mis gegaan met de adresgegevens aan de kant van Uber Eats waardoor het niet bezorgd kon worden. Ze hebben het alsnog opnieuw gemaakt en nageleverd. Super netjes en geweldig lekker eten 👍🏼

Vanavond hier met vier personen gegeten waarvan twee vegan. Het vegan aanbod is teleurstellend beperkt en het gerecht dat geserveerd was, was eenvoudig samengesteld. Hier mag echt beter naar gekeken worden. Een vegan toetje ontbreekt volledig. De niet vegan gerechten vielen wel goed in de smaak. Andere reviews zeggen ook al iets over het geluid en de akoestiek. Daar ben ik het mee eens; wanneer je een iets minder goed gehoor hebt valt een gesprek volgen aan tafel niet mee. Bediening is vriendelijk.

It was very pleasant and tasty. The only thing I didn't like was the spider web above my head and the fact that I received the main course first, then the appetizer and finally the drink.

Eten is de prijs dubbel en dwars waard. De crispy pork belly en Beijing pancakes zijn fantastisch! Cocktails zijn uniek en passen goed bij de gerechten. Op een drukke dag vrij rumoerig maar wel gezellig.

Samen met een vriend op de vrijdagavond gegeten. We hadden gereserveerd om 19.30 uur. Het was er nog niet helemaal vol. We werden vriendelijk ontvangen en mochten een plek uitzoeken. Het is er niet groot, maar wel gezellig. Binnen ongeveer 12 losse zitjes en dan nog aan 1 kant zitjes met bank en stoel. Mooie decoratie aan de muur. We begonnen met een Asahi bier. Als hoofdgerecht crispy chicken noodles en ik crispy pork belly met wat witte rijst en shang hai dumplings. Die laatste heb ik nog een keer besteld zo lekker. In het restaurant kan het soms best luid zijn qua stemgeluid. Maar voor de rest lekker gegeten.

Heerlijk, snel en heel aardige bediening, niks op aan te merken en alsnog maar 55 euro pp kwijt met alle drankjes inbegrepen.

Guter Asiate mit typischem Essen. Etwas teuer für das Gebotene. Service lieb und freundlich. Etwas laut und eng im Innenbereich.

Na eerste geslaagde bezoek een paar jaar geleden was het deze keer wat minder lekker. Vrij kleine porties voor de prijs. Maar vooral: de look was niet goed. Je kent wel de look die je in de supermarkt koopt en muf smaakt. Als je die in je gerecht doet dan proeft ook je gerecht muf. Ik verwacht op restaurant dat de chef zijn ingrediënten zo kiest dat dit vermeden wordt. Ik kan ook moeilijk geloven dat hij dit zelf niet zou proeven, aangezien de muffe smaak zo prominent naar voor kwam. Dus hopelijk was dit een uitzondering, want voor de rest was het lekker.

Vriendelijke service, maar chaotisch en langzaam. Eten niet goed genoeg. Buikspek droog, korean fried chicken leek wel kipschnitzel. Sushi wel lekker en de zaak is mooi. Kom graag nog eens terug, want het concept is super. Hopelijk is het dan verbeterd.
