Cozy, really a favorite pub. It's a shame that they are allowed to smoke inside

Nice terrace, not too busy. We often order coffee and cake. This time coffee + waffle with banana costs €5.50 😋

The atmosphere is nice, but there is very little space, there is no way to get in or out because there are a lot of people, and the downside is that after 11 p.m. the owner distributes ashtrays and most people smoke cigarettes inside, which is a disaster.

Ordered iced coffee. Then you get cold, bitter, unsweetened black coffee with 4 cubes of sugar and a cup of milk with 2 ice cubes in it. The cookie was tasty. Costs 4 euros together. The richly filled tuna salad sandwich was passable, the word 'rich' did not apply to the salad. The sandwich was nice and warm. The service was nice.

It just took half an hour to prepare a croquette sandwich. Super difficult of course

Very nicely decorated outside terrace with a nice selection on the menu. It also looks very nice on the inside. Highly recommended! We will definitely come back here.

Dit cafe is super gezellig. Je kunt er heerlijk eten overdag met een gezellige vriendelijke bediening. Het cafe heeft een ouderwetse sfeer waar je 's avonds gezellig kunt genieten van een drankje. Uiteraard met ouderwets gezellig hollandse muziek en vrolijk barpersoneel. Zeker een aanrader!!

Had a nice lunch here. The outdoor terrace is cozy and friendly service. It's just a pity that outside, but especially inside, it stinks of cigarette smoke.

Unfortunately, it is one of the two cafes with a happy hour for one full hour per working day and despite the announced opening hours that indicate that it is open on Tuesdays, it is still closed on that day(s) ...

Nice crowd, just super fun, until the early hours. Even a taxi is available. I say great.

After 15 years I went to the Bar-Biertje again. It seems as if time has stood still. In terms of the interior of the pub but also in terms of the waiting staff. Old-fashioned fun and it went on until the late hours. As if I've never been away. Top tent

1 star is already too much. Not customer friendly at all. Sat with an empty glass for more than 30 minutes. She cleared the tables around us, saw empty glasses but asked for something. Not serious entrepreneurs at all. Drink more than they sell!!

Nicest cafe in Almelo in a beautiful, characteristic Art Nouveau building 9/10

Sandwiched between contemporary buildings/shops this narrow architectural gem. Hundreds of years old. Hospitality destination since 1888! From my student days in the 1970s, I knew it as "Het Botervat", but when asked, that name has not been in use for 33 years. It was a pleasant reunion. The facade, like the surrounding terraces, is hidden behind large parasols. Necessary, as it turned out during my visit. Not for the sun, but unfortunately for the rain. It should be mentioned: the very extensive menu for food (breakfast and lunch) and drinks. Furthermore: great value for a low price. A 12-hour meal for €5.50 (1 scoop + 1 roll + 2 slices of ham & cheese, croquette, round beef salad. Coffee or tea, glass of orange juice). Where do you find that!

Geklemd tussen eigentijdse gebouwen/winkels dit smalle architectonische juweeltje. Honderden jaren oud. Horecabestemming sinds 1888! Uit mijn studietijd- 70-er jaren in de vorige eeuw - kende ik het als "Het Botervat", maar die naam is, desgevraagd, al 33 jaar niet meer in gebruik. Het was een prettig weerzien. De gevel gaat, evenals bij de omliggende terrassen schuil achter grote parasols. Noodzakelijk zo bleek tijdens mijn bezoek. Niet voor de zon, maar helaas voor de regen. Genoemd moet worden: de zéér uitgebreide kaart voor spijzen (ontbijt en lunch) en dranken. Verder: veel waar tegen een geringe prijs. Een 12-uurtje voor 5,50eu (1 bolletje+ 1 pistolet + 2 plakjes ham & kaas, kroket, bol rundvlees salade. Koffie of thee, glaasje jus d'orange). Waar vind je dat!

my brother regularly comes here without any memories, a truly horrible drinking shack. Shame about the fact that the vet Vijfer is not open. Cafe Taria Loarink in Geesteren is a bit better! THEY WANT TO RUN REQUEST NUMBERS THERE!!!!!!!!

Well, a bit of a shame. A very complete coffee with lipstick from the previous guest, a layer of coffee grounds and a fly. The second latte became a regular coffee twice. No apologies from the staff. Waffle from the supermarket with canned cherries. We left the last one half way. There is a better terrace across the street.

What a misery this was today. First you want to order, you are told that you should not name the dish but the numbers on the menu. Then after 10 minutes you get your drink while you look at tables that have not been cleared. A family sits next to you, but after 10 minutes they didn't see anyone, so they got up and walked away. Then you don't see a meatball with fries or a sandwich for 40 minutes, while the people who came after us did get food. Then you politely ask if she had forgotten our food and you get the answer, I don't work in the kitchen 🤨. Well then we pay for the drinks and we go... Okay, that's 5 euros. No apologies, no asking the kitchen, nothing at all. Then we walked to Brasserie De Linde and within 10 minutes our drink and 2 chicken satay baguettes were in front of us and it was delicious and highly recommended! Missed opportunity Bar beer...a really disappointing experience for us!

Was great! I'm not from the region but I immediately felt "inventory", nice crew who showed interest despite being very busy on Saturday evening and made you feel at ease. After all, you are and feel strange... Super sweet and warm and very pleasant (also to look at ;-) ). Would love to come back! Too bad you're not in Groningen!

Nice café in the middle of Almelo with a small menu. The food is good and the rolls are delicious. In summer you can sit outside and there is always a free space.
