This cheese bar is truly the pearl of Nijmegen and certainly for all cheese fans!! From beautiful cheese boards to delicious wines, but my favorite is the mini beer fridge with special beers that change every month. The atmosphere is always accessible, cozy and it is a chill place to play games. Special thanks to Selena for your great suggestions and radiant personality, because of you we will definitely come back more often!!

De verwachtingen waren hoog gespannen, zeker ook gezien het prijsniveau. Helaas werden de verwachtingen niet waar gemaakt. De service is prima, het eten kan beter. De beste omschrijving is denk ik wel: saai. Wel leuk hoor, de ossenhaas opdienen op een mini-bbq, maar het is slechts een stukje vlees, aangevuld met wat frietjes. Letterlijk dus een stuk vlees met wat friet en daar betaal je dan een stevig bedrag voor. De ambiance binnen is t net niet. Ik snap wat ze proberen uit te stralen, maar dat is ze niet gelukt. Wij komen niet meer terug. Jammer.

Food was delicious, also the combination. And especially my compliments to Selena, who explained everything perfectly, with a nuance that is out of this world. She made this place an experience for us. By pointing out the right choices in the background, with taste. Chapeau, we'll have another cheese.

Wij kwamen al jaren bij The Black Foxx er waren daar zeer tevreden over. Nu was het moment om te kijken of Vlees en Co aan dezelfde verwachtingen voldeed. Vooraf hadden wij alleen brood met roomboter en zeezout. Dit broodje was niet vers en redelijk droog en de roomboter was te hard om te smeren. Als hoofdgerecht hadden we de bone-in Entrecote (medium-rare) welke uitstekend gebakken was. De Entrecote was heerlijk, maar ook nu was de bijbestelde cafe de Paris boter erg hard en niet smeerbaar. Overal erg lekker gegeten.

Leuke plek in Nijmegen, heerlijk gegeten samen met mijn echtgenoot leuke spontane bediening. We komen hier zeker nog eens terug.

The ambiance of the café is pleasant. However, I strongly advise against a cheese fondue for two people. Although the taste is good, the portion was inadequate, especially considering the price of €44. This included just four slices of bread, raw cauliflower, some cucumber and pepper strips and some small toppings. The quality was good, but the quantity for two people and €44 is unacceptable. At the checkout my comment about the small portion size was answered with the message that the fondue is always intended for at least two people. Apparently my dissatisfaction was considered unusual.

Very small. Having a private conversation is almost impossible because you're practically sitting on your neighbor's lap.

Ik had dit etentje als verrassing geregeld voor een verjaardag, en hoewel het eten absoluut heerlijk was, viel de service helaas wat tegen. Tijdens ons diner wilden we nog graag een stuk vlees bestellen, maar tot onze verrassing kregen we te horen dat de grill al een kwartier uit was. Het was jammer dat we niet geïnformeerd werden dat de laatste ronde werd opgenomen, waardoor we deze kans misten. Daarnaast voelde het einde van de avond ongemakkelijk. Het personeel ging aan de bar zitten, waardoor wij het gevoel kregen dat we werden weggekeken. Dit was zonde, zeker omdat ik deze avond speciaal had uitgekozen om de jarige te verrassen. Ondanks het heerlijke eten heeft de service de beleving toch wat minder feestelijk gemaakt.

As someone already wrote, the top2000 pub quiz is really recommended! (even though we came in second) I also agree with what people write about the staff and owner. Nice people with a passion for their profession. If you read this and are in doubt whether to go to bar socio, I have only 1 piece of advice. If you like good food, drinks and conviviality, let yourself be surprised at bar socio!

Komen hier zeer regelmatig, keer op keer super goed. Geen consessies, nergens in. Voor het beste vlees moet je absoluut hier zijn!

Nu 6 keer geweest. Altijd vriendelijk ontvangen en geholpen, goede akoustiek, fijne muziek en lekker eten. Ga zo door!

40 minuten wachten terwijl we gereserveerd hebben, zorg dan dat de mensen die er te lang zitten weg moeten. Geen drankje van het huis. Brood besteld en niet gekregen. Personeel niet alert.

Trek hier maar een halve dag voor uit. Nog nooit zon slechte service meegemaakt. Netjes gereserveerd. Bij binnenkomst zogenaamd nog even 5 min wachten, maar dat werden 35 min. Vervolgens na zo lang wachten geen menukaart krijgen. Je wordt letterlijk bij je tafel neergezet en weg zijn ze. Na 15 min zelf maar om een menukaart gevraagd. Ook dat duurde weer eeuwen. 2uur later nog geen hoofdgerecht. De medewerker zag de irritatie van mijn gezicht afdruipen en zei toen; sorry nog 5 Min dan is het klaar. Maak daar ook maar weer 15 min van. Iedereen loopt de hele avond kats langs je heen. Om drinken moet je zelf vragen en of ze borden en planken mee willen nemen ook. Die tafel was zo klein en alles stond in de weg. Ruim het dan op zn minst af. Als je het prima vindt om 2.5 uur te wachten op eten dan moet je het doen. Het eten is verder dan ook prima. Maar voor meer dan €100 pp was dit echt een flop avond.

Heerlijk gegeten! Komen hier regelmatig en zijn dit keer voor de Brisket gegaan. Deze was super mals, in extra lekker met de kalfsjus met knoflook. Het dessert warme kersencrumble met ijs was nogal karig, de smaak was goed!

Nice cafe. Service is quick and very friendly. Good wines. Parking is one thing, but unfortunately that applies to almost the entire center of Nijmegen.

The food (especially the fried olives) and the service is amazing. I even enjoyed the music playlist, I was rocking in my seat while I sip my glass of tequilla. I highly recommend you visit when in Nijmegen.

Nice bar in the center of Nijmegen. They present themselves as a bar with a good knowledge of cheese or good cheese boards. That was also the reason for us to choose this bar. We were not disappointed! We selected 3 cheeses ourselves and 2 cheeses were at the discretion of the staff. All really delicious cheeses. Enjoyed it wonderfully, with attentive and friendly service. So recommended.

Just outside the hustle and bustle of the center, you can have a nice drink here with friends and enjoy delicious food.

Voor een restaurant waarin vlees de specialiteit is, vond ik het tegenvallen. De steak tartaar vond ik qua smaak tegenvallen. Evenals de hamburger. Was prima hoor maar had iets lekkerder in smaak verwacht. Prima gegeten, maar niet uitmuntend op het gebied van vlees.

Jammer genoeg was alles middelmatig: alles duurde lang - en het was niet druk. Wij moeten meerdere keren vragen om het menu, de drank duurde ook lang, het vlees ( wij bestelde rare en krijgen medium rare) kwam op tafel maar geen borden en bestek. De saus was de verkeerde. Jammer.

Walhalla voor de vleesliefhebber, maar dat doet de naam al vermoeden...Heerlijk gegeten op een woensdagavond waarbij het opvallend rustig was. Hierdoor werden we vlot geholpen en genoten we van de steektartaar en buikspek als voorgerecht. Het hoofdgerecht was ossenhaas en Rib steak. Frites wordt standaard erbij geserveerd, alle andere garnituren dienen apart besteld te worden. We hadden apart nog saus erbij besteld. Het zou vriendelijker zijn als de saus inclusief zou zijn. Dit zou makkelijk moeten kunnen binnen de gevraagde prijs. We werden vlot geholpen maar het was dus zeer rustig. Minpuntje: het is erg donker in het restaurant, je ziet elkaar nauwelijks zitten. Als je meer licht wil vraag dan een tafel aan de straatkant. We gaan zeker nog eens terug.

Wij zijn met een groep wezen eten bij vlees en co en dit is zeer goed bevallen. Alle gerechten vielen goed in de smaak. Nadat een gerecht niet helemaal warm was werd een nieuw stuk vlees geven. Verder werden we goed geholpen door het personeel. De gerechten zijn niet super groot en een beetje aan de prijs, maar zeker een aanrader voor iedereen!

Erg fijne gastheren, hebben verstand van wat ze serveren en dragen hun klanten op handen. De ‘simpele’ sparerib en hamburger smaken naar meer. Er werd rekening gehouden en meegedacht met een zwangere. We komen dan ook graag nog eens terug in de toekomst.

Must go if you like cheese and are in Nijmegen. The wines are also very tasty!

Last weekend we had dinner at Bar Socio with 6 people. one word: Great! The snacks were all equally delicious and, above all, super fresh! You can just taste that the food is fresh and prepared with passion. By the way, nothing but respect for the two ladies who were present. The hostess was born for the job, just like the lady in the kitchen. If the two of you can handle the hustle and bustle that we experienced on Saturday, then you can be really proud of yourself. What is also nice is that the numerous 0.0 specialty beers are very well done! There are plenty of vegetarian options and always a lot of tasty things to order. We will definitely go here again!

I didn't know there were cafes that did so much with cheese. Very nice place and nice service/owner. Recommended for a fun afternoon! And don't forget the top 2000 pub quiz... maybe we'll have a little more opposition this year 😂

Wanted something to drink. But this was even more than you expected. Large selection of drinks, but the surprise is really the menu. Especially the special cheese menu. Delicious flavors with extra additives that you can dose yourself. Enjoy the terrace in the first real sun of 2023. Service is great and pleasant. We like surprises like that.

Visited again a month ago. We walked by by chance because we were looking for something small to eat. And of course this fits that request perfectly. We had a delicious drink while we played games with them. Perfect combination! Definitely recommended and definitely a place to come back!

This pub has not been in Nijmegen for very long, but it is already our favorite pub. Owner Lisa knows what you're drinking and will take care of you all evening. Delicious range of cocktails and tasty snacks!!
