The lady works there is not friendly

One of my favorite bakeries in town. Less than 10% in Amsterdam make their own recipes like Bettina does. Why settle for industrial food?

The owner is super friendly. I always order pretzel buns for when I feel like making fancy hot dogs.

Needed a birthday cake but wanted something different, so I went for their cheesecake. It was amazing! Everybody was super happy - no crumbs left :) Highly recommended not only for the quality but also the fact that you would be buying from a small business in which passion is very clearly the fuel of their work.

Delicious cakes. A new place for me, and I'll definitely be back for the cakes. The seating and coffee/tea experience could be a bit more relaxed.

A wonderful spot for anyone looking to experience authentic German baked goods! I had the chance to chat with the delightful lady who runs the bakery, and it’s evident how much love and dedication she puts into her craft. She explained what makes their traditional German cheesecakes so unique, and her passion truly shone through during our conversation. I tried the traditional German cheesecake and the cherry-apple tart, and both were pretty good. If you’re searching for a place with tasty and fresh cakes with a personal touch, this bakery is well worth a visit.

Delicious organic cakes and cookies

We ate extremely delicious German pastries and Mohnstrudel (poppy seed loaf). The Mohnstruden in particular was absolutely phenomenal - if you like poppy seeds then you're in for a treat! Eating a cake there on the spot is a very cute affair. The owner is very friendly and the people who come to buy something all look so sweet! Make sure you know in advance what something costs. The cakes and tea were very reasonably priced. However, the Mohnstrudel and the quarter (!) of bread were so expensive (together >€ 20) that I still don't believe it was correct.

The best since I first tried! That's good five years now. The cakes of Bettina are fantastic! Rhubarb and plum are my favorites. Cheeskake is killing and the cookies are highly addictive. What a blessing to have these gifted and charming ladies around us!

The walnut cake is highly recommended! Ever since I ate it, I can't think of anything else when I'm in Amsterdam. Nice organic bakery with very friendly and pleasant staff.

Not much choice on the day of my visit, I chose the sachertorte, we are very far from the Vienna version, very dry sponge cake, not at all soaked, you smell neither apricot nor chocolate. Too bad because it’s a beautiful visual.

Wunderbare deutsche traditionelle Kuchen und Gebäck. Seit neuestem gibt es auch Brot und Brötchen ( auch zum selber fertigbacken).

Excellent German/Austrian bakery with lovely Torten and Kuchen: very very tasty. My personal favourite so far would be the Bienenstich: wonderfully light, fluffy and creamy - everything you'd hope for. And the baker is very friendly!

Oh Lord! I don't think I ever tasted such good homebaked cakes in Amsterdam or anywhere I'vebeen in NL!! This lady Bettina is amazing!! The taste is just incredible, you can tell she prepares everything with love ❤️ the store is also cute and the smell sends back to childhood! Ms Bettina thanks so much for your hospitality, people like you should be protected at all costs! And btw it's all bio! I tried the German cheese cake, vanilla cookies (sooo gooood) and another pie with poppy seeds, the poppy seed one was so good I shed a tear! 🥹 Much love!

another lovely place I discovered on my last day in Amsterdam wondering this lovely neighborhood ms. Bettina is friendly and does a good job explaining her products is very nice talking to her about family history as well I just got two pastries cause I think the bread was sold out I didn’t need bread that day anyway and for frankly I didn’t eat pastries either but I can’t resist such a bakery and the poppyseed kugel i’m not sure if kugel is the right word but I guess you call it a pie in American English was as we say in American English the bomb. And I got something else as well walnut cake which was also really lovely both of which reminded me of my grandmother‘s baking

In Dutch it's "gezelligheid", the Danish have their "hygge" and the Germans then? 🤔 It's "Gemütlichkeit" paired with artisanal delicious products (lots of vegan 🌱 options 😀) and gorgeous bread directly from the South of Germany every Thursday! Don't miss it!

Heerlijke pruimentaart! Bakken ook op bestelling voor dezelfde dag!

Toevallig liep ik hier naar binnen omdat het tegenover de tramhalte is! Als je binnenkomt lijkt het of er niet veel keuze is, maar laat haar rustig uitleggen en je gaat absoluut met een toptaart of of -cake of -gebak naar huis. Vorige keer de notentaart, nu hazelnoot taart.

Heerlijke taarten, een feest voor het oog en de mond. Vriendelijke bediening en prachtige verjaardagstaarten.

Sehr leckerer deutscher Kuchen, guter Filterkaffee. Perfekt für Kaffee und Kuchen am Wochenende. Außerdem sehr gutes Brot.

Echte aanrader. Verrukkelijke, ambachtelijke pattiserie , koekjes en taartjes. vriendelijke en behulpzame eigenaar en persoonlijke benadering... unieke historische achtergrond. Een bezoekje waard. Je kunt er ook gezellig zitten. Er wordt ook lekkere koffie en thee geserveerd.

Lovely atmosphere, it is a very welcoming place. Both the owner and her daughter there were very helpful to me speaking in English, but also German to the previous customer, they are welcoming to all and have a great Organic Vegan/ Vegtarian safe bakery.

De gezonde taartjes, ze zijn lekker en zouden iets groter mogen.

Genoten van de heerlijke Walnoot Himmel taart en een kopje thee! En natuurlijk van de vriendelijke gastvrijheid en het verhaal achter de taart, helemaal eigen recept, super-creatief!!!

Niet echt gezellig.. Hun spullen liggen op de 2 tafeltjes. De taart is droog en vlak van smaak. Goede website, maar helaas in het echt niet bijzonder. De dames zijn wel vriendelijk.
