It's nice to sit on the sunny terrace, but the sullen lady at the counter does make the atmosphere less pleasant. Shame.

As posted by Kelly, I also visited this bar when I was there as part of the 80th anniversary of the Lincoln & Welland liberation. I performed in the Lincoln & Welland Band as well. The owner was great and treated us very well, I loved the fact that he was wearing our badge for the big parade day! I recommend this pub for all.

Delicious beers and friendly and fun staff. On one of the nicest squares in Bergen op Zoom! From spring to autumn, the sun shines on the terrace from afternoon to evening. Top staff and owner or Top Pub!

Nice looking pub on the main square. Beer menu is okayish, common beers but no surprises. You would expect more enthusiasm and knowledge from the personnel since it is called a beer cafe.

Nice tent! Service is great and super fast! You basically never have an empty glass! The theme is very nice and the moving train creates the atmosphere!

Delicious large amount of different beers.

Nice, a beer café with its own beer, we thought. Unfortunately, it turned out that no one could tell us what kind of beer this was, but luckily we like almost everything, so we ordered the Bavarian beer. However, this had a strange, stable-like smell and the taste turned out to be a bit sour; not typical of the beer style and in my opinion a brewing error, which made the beer very unpleasant. Not according to the hostess, because she had had the beer in her collection for 2 years, so a brewing error was impossible. As a beer sommelier, however, I know the difference between a taste that belongs in beer and a brewing error, but the lady didn't care about that. Unfortunately, the fact that I didn't like the beer was my problem, because tastes differ. It's strange when I read an earlier review about a beer that didn't taste good, in which the owner indicates that if the guest had reported this earlier, she could have done something with it. When we left we tried to indicate again that it might be an idea to pass on our feedback to the brewer, but after we were rejected again we gave up and left. Leaving behind a full bottle of beer. Too bad, the pub has a nice appearance and a nice menu, but it turns out that service and hospitality can make or break everything.

I don't think the lady who spoke to us enjoys her job. Worst catering experience ever. Beer had a sour note which does not belong in a Bavarian beer. But feedback or criticism is not welcome. No sense of hospitality and no understanding of beer. Interior was nice. As an entrepreneur you can take criticism as a gift, but given the responses to other reviews, I don't expect this. The sour aftertaste of the house beer fits perfectly with the aftertaste I left with from the visit.

I was surprised to see a couple bad recent reviews, they must be outliers. This bar is really great: cute train theme inside, a great selection of beers (both big brand beers and craft beers), friendly staff, and a nice location. If you like beer (or trains), definitely stop by here!

Beer had a taste, something was said about it... "Unfortunately for you" was their response... We were really amazed. We sat at a table with the 2 of us, nothing happened. We were so surprised that I was allowed to find something about it. It was not appreciated, suddenly threatened to call the police and even pushed out...bizarre. never experienced anything like this before... customer friendly of course not at all. But being treated like that out of the blue? It's a shame that his pub is run by those people... unsuitable. For us, the worst experience ever experienced in a cafe

I always think the loco looks cozy, but nothing could be further from the truth, I have never felt so unwelcome at a pub. I had only just sat on the terrace and an older lady immediately came to ask me what I wanted to order. I kindly asked her what kind of tripples they sold. The irritated response was that I should take a look at their menu, I was just there! I didn't have the chance yet. Furthermore, she didn't seem to be pleased with our visit and had already made the decision, I ordered another beer with my stupid head and I should have just left immediately. At least I know that fortunately I won't have to come back there again! Shame! Because it seems like a nice cafe with good music

It was a rainy evening during the New Year's holidays and my husband and I ran inside to warm up. Yes, a cup of hot tea and the atmosphere inside gave us unforgettable emotions. The owners tried to decorate and create an atmosphere of New Year's magic. Wait for us, we will definitely come back next year.

What a strange/nasty experience yesterday at the locomotive. We wanted to have a nice drink inside with a group of 6. Before we could order a drink, we were reminded in a very antisocial manner that it was not a party café. Apparently you're not allowed to have a good time in the cafe. And there should be no laughter. Never experienced such unfriendly staff before. It can be seen from your response below that you cannot handle criticism well. Maybe you should do something about that.

Not cafe worthy. Came in with 6 people and ordered a drink. The owner immediately came to tell us that it is not a party cafe and that otherwise we should go somewhere else. We were not noisy at all and if you are not allowed to laugh in a cafe, you as an owner would be better off starting a yoga tent.

Definitely don't go here with small children. After skating we go for a drink of chocolate milk, but they don't like seeing prams and children there. There is a low table inside at the entrance, the previous girls told me we had reserved this but we have already left. I wanted to sit there with my child, but the boss indicated that it was still reserved. I sat at a bar table, which was quite awkward. My 2-year-old son was pressing a button on a plastic light on the table. The café owner felt it necessary to take this out of his hands and say this is not for playing with. The way he did it just makes you think that that person didn't like children. Never again for us, and we come to Boz every week!

Hier zeker niet heen gaan met kleine kindjes. Er is binnen een lage tafel aan de inkom , de vorige meiden zeggen mij we hadden deze gereserveerd maar we zijn al weg. Ik wilde er met mijn kindje gaan zitten maar de baas gaf aan dat het nog steeds gereserveerd was . Ben ik aan een bar tafeltje gaan zitten wat vrij onhandig was. Zoontje van 2 was op een knopje aan het drukken van een plastic lampje dat op de tafel stond. De café baas vond het nodig om dit uit zijn handen te sleuren en te zeggen dit dient niet om mee te spelen . De manier waarop hij het deed zach je gewoon dat die mens niets van kinderen moest hebben. Voor ons nooit meer , en wij komen wekelijks in boz!

If you are a beer person, this is probably the obvious spot in town. Mostly just bottles though. Was disappointed they didn’t have any locals on tap. They did have a good beer that they actually brew, in bottle. Seating is a little closed off and uncomfortable given prime spot on square.

Cozy, not that spacious but a very nice beer café on the central market Square of Bergen op Zoom. Many beer choices to discover and quick service.

Lekkere friet proeverij. Binnen is de moeute waard om te bekijken. Heeft niet altijd alle speciaalbieren op voorraad.

Op het terras gezeten bij dit biercafe, personeel is attent en aardig. Het terras is gezellig en echt het cafe gevoel. Veel verschillende Belgische bieren van de tap en uit de fles. Sfeer is gezellig en gemoedelijk, leuk hoor! Karmeliet van de tap was een beetje dood enige puntje van kritiek.

Gezellige kroeg. Allerlei Lego om te bekijken. Zelfs een rijdende trein. Aardig personeel!

Wij hebben net heerlijk met de meiden wat biertjes op. Er was in het speciaal een serveerster die ons het lekkerste biertje ooit aanraadde, Joy #enjoy. Wij raden iedereen dit leuke café aan!! Groetjes Emma, Anouk en Esmée!

Ik kom wel vaker bij 'de Loco' voor een biertje, maar nu kan je er ook friet bestellen van de buren(Pommes Youpes). En ik moet zeggen, die friet is echt heerlijk. Ik zou vooral de stoof proberen. Die is echt aan te raden. En dan een heerlijk speciaal biertje erbij. Helemaal top!

Alleen wat gedronken. Leuk aangeklede kroeg.

Super leuke bar met een goede bierkaart. Er is veel keuze uit een scala van (lokale) biertjes. Leuke bediening en een goede sfeer binnen. Absolute aanrader!

This is a first class beer bar. Really good selection of beers and friendly and helpful staff. The interior is well worth a visit although if the weather is good you’re likely to be outside. A train set runs around where you’d expect a dado rail to be. Good clean loos. Highly recommended
