Boenders De Echte Bakker in Wijk 01 Eibergen

Dear "Bakkerij Nollen", please do not suggest that you are an artisan ("warm") bakery, because you simply produce: "factory bread" which is sold in various small shops! Nothing more and nothing less!

Bought a raisin puff pastry and a ham and cheese croissant. The beautiful old tiled floor is what immediately caught my eye when I walked in. Traditional bakery.

Good quality, but the price was too high for what I got. €2.75 for one sausage roll—I might as well have stopped at a gas station along the highway.

A bakery the way it should be! We only come to Neede once a year, and then we always stop by Stroet. What a lovely bakery. A truly unique assortment. And fantastic meringue cakes! And staff who feel very much—you can tell—at home with the business, instead of those shaky, clueless types you see in shops here in the Randstad. (They can't help it, but it speaks volumes for a business when those aren't there.) And good meringue cakes! And a surprisingly large selection of other bites, snacks, and treats. Really a wonderful bakery. Oh, and, did I mention they have meringue cakes? Highly recommended. More bakeries should do that.

On recommendation, I ended up at Bakkerij Schreuder. A bakery that makes real sourdough bread, and in a number of variations too, such as with seeds or olives. I've already tasted a bit; what a treat, those flavors and all ingredients from the Achterhoek. Truly delicious. I think the bakery is run by baker dad, and in the shop mom and daughter. Very friendly and nice people who have a passion for their goods, and rightly so. A special and rich experience; I love going to Eibergen for it, top-notch.
