It's always a pleasure to go to Harlem and stop by Oscar's. The coffee was a bit too strong for my taste, but the pastries were excellent.

Lovely bakery where we had 3 delicious breakfast walking distance from our hotel. Interesting counter sitting with view into the pastry making area.

The quality of the bread has been fantastic for years, but why doesn't the staff speak a word of Dutch anymore?

Best bakery in the area! Delicious fresh rolls and freshly filled baguettes. (It's a shame they run out of baguettes at noon on Saturdays, though.)

Jesus! Those pastries are so delicious! I totally recommend the spinach-feta one and the rolls, too! Get one of those fluffy buns! And don’t even get me started on this coffee… it’s amazing!

We often visit Oscar in building Biarritz on the Halkade next to the harbour of IJmuiden Aan Zee. Great products and service.

Stopped in on route for the ferry. Such a good bakery. Products and coffee where brilliant. Definitely a good stop. The new member of staff was doing an excellent job. Hope she enjoys her time there!

I was there by chance quite some time back,middle ofJuly this year ...I was wondering around before a work meeting in the area..so I pop in as the smell from outside was so intense and goo and as soon I enter I got stuck by looking at the various several trays of the BEAUTIFUL freshly baked focaccia with rosemary and olives which were stacked/piled in various carts there waiting to be sent to the other shops that they have.....and while I was looking so fascinated by the quality of the dough and the inviting great perfume emanating from there ( I do like baking and I do my sourdough breads and focaccias sometime with good results too so I knew I was looking to a nice product!! ), a young and smiley woman ,guess in her 30s, asked gently, 'You liked it?'' ...and I said '' Well, it looks amazingly good actually, hope I can taste it in fact !''...'' Sure , it is meant to be on the shops in few hours but I can make an exeption for you!''..and while cutting a nice piece of it, she explains in details and with passion the baking tecnique used for this Focaccia, which is called BIGA....BIGA is a long and work intensive baking and raising dough process which, when done correctly ( difficoult !) it produce an incredibly soft ,full of micro and big air bubble and still moist sourdough type of pizza or focaccia bread . But what I had there was without doubt the BEST BIGA FOCACCIA I have never had...and trust me I have had quite a lot in Italy and in the south of Italy all my life. The young smiley woman there ,who has been super nice,kind and passionate about her work , was the Maitre baker Chef of the Boulangerie Oscar .I want say Congratulation to her and the really exceptional work and results she is doing there !!Can't wait to be there again soon...Unfortunately I cant remember her name .Hopefully she will be around !

We stumbled upon Boulangerie Oscar today by chance via Google, and what can I say? Simply fantastic! 🥐✨ The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They baked fresh on-site, which made the atmosphere even more special. Everything we took home was absolutely perfect, both in terms of taste and quality. 🫶🏻 Definitely a clear recommendation! 🌟

Great bakery with pure bread, just the way it's meant to be. From Beverwijk, I go to Bakker Oscar. They also have coffee beans, and the packaging doesn't specify which beans they are, so I asked. The man didn't know. I said I'd go ask a colleague myself. The man walked away, leaving me a bit puzzled. I find this a real shame for 750 grams of coffee costing almost €20.00. Not that it's super expensive, but I would really try to help my customer as best I could. Even if it was €1.00.

The real baker! Very cool atmosphere because you can almost experience the baking process up close because of how it is set up on the inside, super interesting! The various sandwiches they sell here are also super tasty! Of course you pay a little more for this, but that can be explained 😊

We wanted to go to the beach in IJmuiden and get breakfast beforehand. We came across this little bakery by chance. We were very surprised and impressed that production takes place directly in the sales area. That was really good! The service was friendly, the baked goods were really well priced and tasted great!

Highly recommended. We stayed in a hotel near the Boulangerie and the truth is that we had a great breakfast. It only has a couple of benches outside the establishment, but it was sunny and great. We ordered a couple of cappuccinos, a couple of croissants, a brownie, a pastel de nata and an American cookie and we paid €17, so it was great because the products are made there and this breakfast would have been much more expensive in a normal restaurant.

Real fresh bakery with deliciously crispy freshly baked sourdough sticks/breads and other specialties.

Good quality! Delicious ham and cheese croissants. They are expensive, but they are the tastiest I have had so far in IJmuiden, so that is okay. The open bakery creates a very traditional setting. Unfortunately, the atmosphere is destroyed by the seller. First he pretends you don't exist for half a minute while he continues talking to a colleague. Then instead of a smile you get a grumpy look. I came back again because of the quality. Unfortunately, the same grumpiness was there again and it made for an unpleasant interaction again. That was the last time for me.

I bought a ham cheese croissant and a pistachio croissant but there was a lot of ham in the croissant and you can't taste any pistachio in the pistachio croissant

Bought 3 baguettes instead of 9 today because to my great surprise the baguette cost 30 cts in a few days without any mention from the media that the bread cost. So now a baguette at (Oscar) IJmuiden costs €2.50, I advise customers to go to le Fournil (real French baker Sebastien) where the same baguette costs €1.95, count from your profit!!! Oscar has definitely lost a customer.

Delicious baked good including sour doughs. There is no seating area inside but it’s for sure worth a stop. There a couple of benches outside under the roof. There are also coffee, juices and other drinks available. You could see people shaping bread which is interesting to watch. The lady working at the counter was very friendly.

Ik kom in het filiaal Heemstede. Het valt mij op dat de kwaliteit minder wordt. Heel specifiek; de stokbroodjes zijn niet voldoende vers/knapperig, en moeten dus worden “opgepiept” in de oven. Jammer, want toen het bedrijf net begon (vóór de overname) was ik nooit teleurgesteld …

Betreft de winkel in Heemstede. Croissants, chocolade broodjes en brownies besteld. De croissants waren niet goed en smaakten als gewoon wit brood in een "croissant" vermomming.

Unbelievably good breads and pastries. Cookies are out of this world. Friendly staff. Highly recommended. Don’t miss this one!

Heerlijk brood, maar altijd gecremeerd (ook de medewerkster in de winkel beaamde dat het brood veel te donker/verbrand is) en daarmee kankerverwekkend!/ niet conform Europese richtlijnen Ondanks onze herhaalde klachten/suggesties verandert niets aan het bakproces. Korter bakken en/of op lagere temp en je hebt het beste brood ter wereld. Heel, echt heel erg jammer. We gaan op zoek naar een bakker die de gezondheid van zijn klanten wel serieus neemt.

Nice bakery, it all looks very nice. However, the products are somewhat disappointing in terms of taste. A sausage roll, for example, has a very bland taste but looks fantastic! I was really a little disappointed.

Wat een geweldig heerlijk brood, geweldige croissants en koeken! Echt genieten.

Das Oskar in Haarlem kannte ich schon, deshalb bin ich hier gezielt hingefahren. Und wieder einmal wurde ich sehr angenehm überrascht. Ein direkter Blick in die Backstuben - was für eine tolle Atmosphäre. Schnell ein leckeres Croissant auf die Hand und für das Abendessen zwei Baguette. Sehr empfehlenswert! Ein gut durchdachtes Rezept!

Wij komen altijd naar IJmuiden voor al het lekkers wat ze verkopen. Alles is heerlijk en vers. Vandaag heerlijke oliebollen gehaald, vers gebakken, niet vet! Kortom een aanrader!

Stopping there once a year, when we take the ferry to England. Has never disappointed. French croissants and pain d'amande are better then many in France. You can buy juices, packed biscuits and such as well.

Oscar knows what they’re doing. Fantastic croissants, pastry, and bread. Benches out front to eat all the goods, but we were surrounded by begging birds.
