We had lunch here this afternoon, the 2-course lunch via Social Deal. For starters, the onion soup with two pieces of baguette. This was more like a broth, but it tasted good. We also had a light lunch and a hot meat sandwich. The latter was delicious: a nice crispy baked wholemeal bun with satay sauce on the side. The light lunch was very simple: two regular brown bread slices (we ordered white), a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on each, a slice of bread with a croquette and a small salad. And some lettuce/2 pieces of fruit. We often order this when we go out for lunch, but this was really very simple. We were served by a nice young man. Furthermore, we noticed that the prices on the website are much lower than those listed on the menu and charged. It was supposed to be adjusted, a vague story about IT. Incidentally, the menu is all that is on the website, no photos, information, etc. The beers were also more expensive when paying the bill than on the menu on the table. All very disappointing. It is a nice restaurant with a nice terrace.

I celebrated my 50th birthday here. Everything was very well organized. The setting was good. Seating and standing areas. A small dance floor, music. An open bar, so you could get your own drinks. And a snack buffet that everyone raved about how incredibly delicious it was. The staff really did their best. My guests and I had a truly fantastic evening! Thank you for that.

The meat was overcooked and dry. The plates were too cold, and so was our food afterwards. The taste was reasonably okay. Unfortunately, the Dame Blanco had ice cubes in it with syrupy, difficult chocolate. A major disappointment. The service was so fast that we were back outside in no time. A bit of a shame.

Young guys who were more interested in their private lives with each other. Friendly towards us, though. The food was not what it should have been. Prawns in herb butter. The herbs had been flown all over them. We asked for a medium steak, but it was still very raw and had a white tendon running through it. We were given a new plate with our own pieces of meat that had been reheated. There was a burnt piece of chips on it. The potato side dish was rock hard. And we got all of that in 45 minutes, and were €100 lighter. Not recommended. We won't be coming back.

We hadn't made a reservation but were given a table for about two hours. The food wasn't bad, but just sufficient for people over 80! Drinks were absurdly expensive and the beer wasn't poured very professionally. The service was very amateurish. All in all, not worth repeating.

Hello I'm only giving two stars. Because it all took way too long. And it wasn't busy at all.

The service was inadequate; we had to get food from the counter ourselves several times, waited a long time for the starter, and then waited another 1.5 hours for the main course, one of which was served cold. We skipped dessert and left. We reported it and received 4 free drinks in exchange. They cited busyness, but half the tables were unoccupied. It is a real shame because the main course tasted good and was beautifully presented; otherwise, we certainly would have come back, but now we won't.

At the request made when booking, we arrived half an hour early. No idea why, as it was never full. The menu was handed out quickly, but after taking the order, it took more than half an hour for the food to arrive, in parts... First the fish and most of the mixed grill. The fries and salad didn't arrive until 10 minutes later, and the steak that was supposed to go with the grill came even later. That was mentioned immediately, but it was a bit strange. The upside was that the steak was at least still nice and warm 😁 The young serving staff clearly need some better coaching.

When you receive a dish, it is desirable to have cutlery with it; after 5 minutes, I ended up walking to the kitchen to ask for it. A no-nonsense restaurant with a cozy atmosphere and decor. For 21.95, a truly fantastic Social Deal.

To start on a positive note, the food was excellent. A great steak, and the pepper sauce was delicious. I won't be ordering dessert again. The cheesecake wasn't cheesecake at all, it was pre-made from the refrigerator. Tasteless. We also had to wait an incredibly long time for our drinks and food. The staff were young and inexperienced, which meant there was absolutely no oversight. Glasses stayed empty for ages, empty plates sat around for ages, and orders were incomplete. Finally, someone stepped in, a former employee who was also having a bite to eat. The owner was invisible all evening, except when she went for a cigarette at the end of the evening, the smell of which permeated the restaurant. The restrooms were downright filthy.

How awful! We, as a couple, wanted to have a nice meal, but when we walked in, we asked for a table for two! They still had it, so the woman said, "I'll bring you the menu right away!" We waited 45 minutes and still haven't received anything! We haven't even been offered a drink! We're never going back. What a terrible place.

The dining room is small, but that wasn't a problem. However, if you want to eat with a group, they fill up quickly. We had a very long wait between the starter and the main course (45 minutes). There was a 30-minute wait between the main course and dessert. We mentioned this when paying. They barely managed an apology. But I wonder if they were sincere. What we didn't like, for example, was the vegetables and potatoes that came with the dishes. There were five of us eating, but we only received one container of potatoes with at most 10 wedges. Our daughter ordered a schnitzel, and the waiter asked if she wanted a little sauce with it. She chose mayonnaise (a small container, one pump), which was fine. De bediening begon veelbelovend: we werden snel geholpen met drankjes en het opnemen van de bestelling. Helaas sloeg de sfeer snel om. Er bleken nauwelijks broodjes beschikbaar “vanwege een nieuwe chef” – ossenhaaspuntjes konden nog net, maar een simpele hamburger niet. Daarna begon het lange wachten. Geen drankjes, geen updates. Toen het eten eindelijk kwam, leek het even goed, tot we beestjes in de sla ontdekten – en niet één, maar bij alle borden. Het leek wel luis. Gelukkig zat er geen sla op de broodjes, maar het was ronduit vies. Geen personeel meer gezien en bij het afrekenen werd ons slechts verteld: “Ik geef het door aan de chef.” Geen excuus, geen compensatie. Zonde.

Had lunch here on a sunny Saturday on the terrace. Nice terrace near the canal, but noisy traffic. Hertog Jan on tap, delicious. My wife had an angus burger with fries. She thought it was fantastic. I had a skewer of chicken satay with fries. I found the satay sauce bland in taste. The portion of chicken on the skewer was on the economical side. The service was great.

Wij kwamen er eigelijk jaarlijks wel een paar keer. Dit omdat De Aanleg ons uitermate goed beviel. Tot aan vanavond... Met 2 vrienden uit eten geweest. Wat opviel was dat de bijgerechten, voor 4 personen, hetzelfde is als voor 2 personen. Dus dat hield niet over. Ook zat er een papieren vingerhoedje aan mayonaise bij. Het eten was qua kwaliteit als vanouds. Gewoon heel goed. Alleen leken de porties kleiner. Ook waren de drankjes prijzig. De rekening viel ook erg tegen: €189 Voor een broodplankje, 4 hoofdgerechten en 4 desserts. Terwijl we niet echt vol waren. Niet dat het slecht was. Maar zoals het was, zo is het bij lange na niet meer. War jammer is. Het was een restaurant waar gewoon alles klopte. Kortom: erg lekkere maar te weinig en te duur.

The food was super tasty and the atmosphere was great. Staff involved with the guests. Please note that younger guests (16-18 years old) are also treated well. They are the future families. I noticed during my visit that the older lady treated her less kindly. Anyway, that was a snapshot and I don't know what happened beforehand. But even then, as a visitor I should not experience that. Definitely worth eating here again.

Food is very good, but they have become so expensive

We ate there last night and it was delicious. Only the Surf and Turf dish has meat and fish. But there were shrimps and that's not fish 🐟 I don't like shrimps. We told the waitress but she didn't think it was important.

Not google pay. debit card or cash… Since I had no other means of payment, they took away my driver's license until I return with cash. Of course the nearest ATM is temporarily not working... Not only was the food really sad. The whole experience and service on the way was a disaster.

We hebben zelf gevraagd of we mochten bestellen na ruim een half uur binnen te zijn. Na een uur kwam ons hoofdgerecht, lauw op een koud bord! Jammer. Dessert was geen tijd voor ivm ons avondprogramma, dat duurde allemaal veel te lang. Geen goede voorbereiding voor een restaurant dat lang niet vol zat op zaterdagavond.

The restaurant itself is looking good, and the (young staff) are very friendly; but the food is (in my opinion) about the same level as in a snackbar, no wine carte (you just have to tell the waitress if you want red or white wine, dry or mild..), the cook's job seems to be very simple, just cooking the meat and warming up whatever they get as industrial prepared dishes.. Good if you want to have a cheese sandwich and a beer or coffee, but nothing more. At last, friendly service, but it took 75mns (we arrived at 19:00) before we could order and get the first dishes, so a bit too long.

Gisteren waanzinnig lekker gegeten bij deze brasserie, redelijke bediening. Vandaag waren we rond kwart over acht in het restaurant, met het idee dat het tot 22 uur open zou zijn, maar de keuken was al dicht. En dat terwijl mensen nog lekker zaten eten. Ook op hun website staat niet dat de keuken al om kwart over acht dicht zou zijn. Helaas dus. Ook het personeel was niet erg behulpzaam om ons enigszins tegemoet te komen. Zelfs een borrelhapje kon er niet af. Gelukkig was snackbar t' Tonnechie aan de overkant gewoon open en daar waren we meer dan welkom. Uiteindelijk zijn we gelukkig niet met een lege buik naar bed hoeven gaan. We vroegen ons wel waar de baas was, misschien had hij of zij wel voldoende inlevingsvermogen gehad om ons te helpen. Voor ons geen brasserie de Aanleg meer
