Brasserie het biechthuis in Wijk 00 Simpelveld

Had a lovely lunch on the terrace. De Flaquette (a new one for me) was truly delicious. Friendly service and a cozy atmosphere in a nostalgic spot in the village where I grew up in the 80s! I'm just curious if anyone remembers the name of the pub as it was around 1985!? Fond memories!

Everything is fine here! Except the boss! Because she is always grumpy and unfriendly. The other staff is very friendly. And this week I walked along the sidewalk past her terrace and she looked at her customers with a sullen look. Too bad because the rest is fine there.

Brasserie Het Biechthuis is highly recommended! We had a great time here and enjoyed delicious food. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The menu offers a nice variety of dishes, all fresh and tastefully prepared. You really get value for your money here.

After a walk, we settled on the terrace opposite the brasserie. Friendly service by young people. Price and quality of coffee and pie ok.

Gezellige eigenaresse. Fijne bediening. Lekkere cappuccino. Lunchgerechten heerlijk. Ook als avondeten. Ons vaste adres al we in Zuid-Limburg zijn.

There are no prices listed on the beer quay. I was allowed to pay €7.45 for a weizen beer, which is half the price elsewhere

Given the reviews, I was curious about my own experience. Had a delicious lunch today with 3 friends, friendly service and as an encore we enjoyed the sun and a delicious cappuccino outside on the beautiful terrace. So completely satisfied.

Today's employee was downright rude during service, and she was also very irritated when paying. This was accompanied by sighs and eye rolling. I wanted to pay for my drinks because I had to leave early. Even though I indicated this, she paid for the entire table, and when I said that the rest was still sitting, she became very irritated. I saw a form hanging up in which they recruit new staff. Experience is not required, but friendliness is a must. I didn't notice anything about that. Despite the great location, this is the reason for me / us not to come back. I hope this attitude is not standard with this employee. Very unfortunate, not a nice ending to our fun outing together.

Annoying to say, but it really used to be better. Recently had lunch at Het Biechthuis and that was probably the last time. Upon arrival it is all a bit messy, there is no atmosphere inside and it is very dark. The lunch dishes are depressingly small and very “simple”. In the bowl that passes for a soup bowl there is a baby spoon, which does not function at all. The bread was not even half toasted and there was too much lettuce on it. The cheese croquette was dwarfed by the large slice. When paying you get the final blow, if you go for a simple lunch with a group of four people and don't eat anything crazy, you will shamelessly pay more than eighty euros! Missed opportunity!

Things went completely wrong during the greeting. We had made reservations and didn't have time, otherwise we would have left immediately. The 'pulled chicken sandwich' was really okay. Now for the service................... We will certainly not show our face there anymore for the time being.

We regularly come here for lunch. Always good food and a cozy atmosphere! Highly recommended!

Visited this establishment with 4 adults and 2 children for lunch and a drink. Now I must confess that the reception was somewhat Calvinistic in nature, and that in the Catholic south. An extra chair was not available (table for 4), nor the service of a child's chair. Oh well, we're not the most difficult and we added these ourselves. It was quite busy, apparently people have a lot to confess to each other after Christmas. The service left something to be desired (possibly due to staff shortages). The lunch menu looked promising, but the pulled chicken sandwich was as dry as the faces of the overworked staff. The toasted sandwich with rustic bread was more like a meager, somewhat cheese-tasting wafer in which the fat had been absorbed. The pea soup was good. Fine for a one-off visit after matins, but not in accordance with the normal 'Limburg' portions. All in all a bit sparse, not much for detail and taste. The atmosphere in the store was nice and atmospheric, if this were followed up with a more cooperative and warm attitude, then perhaps a (Christmas) star would be added.

Wat een geweldige ontvangst op een druilerige zaterdagmiddag in november. De vrolijkheid en passie voor het vak voel je en proef je, sowieso in de gegratineerde uiensoep en vervolgens in de kippenpastei met frites waarbij de kip zeer laag is overgevlogen. 🫶 Wij zeggen doen!

Was friendly, many guests. The door war wedged open and it was a cold day, not my Idea of cosy. My schnitzel was good. I ordered a second beer and a wrong beer was served. I didn't want to course a fuss and didn't do anything about it. My fellow guest said that I had ordered it in correct Dutch. Perhaps in the local dialect would have helped. The paintings on the toilet doors are interesting and a source of discussion.

Heerlijke lunch met originele en smakelijke gerechten. Vriendelijke bediening en zonnig terras. Bezoekers uit eigen dorp maar ook vanuit rest van Nederland. Ligging, rustig maar wel aan doorgaande weg.

Mooie lokatie met leuk uitzicht op de mooie kerk van Simpelveld. Het menu voor het avondeten vonden we zeer beperkt. De porties waren klein, de salade was zonder zout, geen olie of azijn of verdere kruiden. De patatjes waren bleek en vermoedelijk uit een verpakking, zo ook het vlees en het sausje.

Leuke zaak, vriendelijk bediening en lekker eten. De 'blonde trapist' getapt, moet je echt uit proberen, heerlijk.

Gezellige brasserie Tijdens lunch druk Alleen bij de Italiaanse salade Teleurstelling, niets Italiaans te vinden! Wij moesten vragen of er Parmezaanse kaas nog geleverd kon worden. Wellicht had de kok het die middag gewoon te druk. Dus een duur blaadje sla Mijn kipsalade daarentegen was helemaal prima

Alleen al de uiensoep. Ik heb het niet vaak meegemaakt dat ie zo lekker was als daar. De rest was ook erg lekker, maar de uiensoep kwam daar bovenuit. De sfeer was ook erg gezellig en erg vriendelijk personeel

Prima eten, mooi opgediend en zeer vriendelijke bediening. Meer zon zou mogen maar dat valt soms buiten het terras.

Uiensoep, salade carpaccio en salade biechthuis. In combinatie met een flesje witte wijn. Heel goed te doen! Afgerond met een ijskoffie en een cappucino.

Heerlijke lunch gerechten, en de beste latte machiato ever! Hele mooie en gezellige inrichting. Top locatie! Prachtig buiten terras bij de kerk.
