One should not give 5 stars too easily but we really can’t find any reasons why we shouldn’t in this case. Good food, well presented, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Next time we’re in the area we will stop by again for sure!

We were overlooked twice but the food was worth it.

That's a bit silly of me. First I finish my plate and then think oh yeah a picture for the review 😂 But on the other hand an empty plate is a good sign. The 12 o'clock with mustard soup but you could also have tomato soup. So choice. Brown ancient bread with salmon and salad topping, excellent croquette on white bread. And that for 17 euros. Normally you get a small cup of soup but here we got a full bowl of mustard soup with bacon! As a Groninger in Friesland I was completely happy. Friendly atmosphere with the service and a beautiful toilet! It just smelled new! Yes a delicious lunch afterwards nice to wash hands with a nice smelling soap. Satisfied into the village. "Best genogh" that's what they say I believe in Friesland.

It's super cozy. Friendly staff that is geared towards the elderly. That makes it nice to go there to eat with my mother. Nothing forced, everything is fine. Your dog is also welcome and is given a bowl of water without asking. Price=quality is fine. However, reservations are recommended at the weekend.

Delicious food and a super nice atmosphere at Brasserie Kolkzicht! What a great evening we had here! The food was really delicious - you can taste the attention and love put into it. But what makes it complete is the atmosphere. The service is so nice and friendly, you immediately feel at ease. Like joining friends! Inside it also looks beautiful and super clean, everything taken care of down to the last detail. And what struck us: the team works really well together. You can just see that they are having fun with each other and that reflects on the whole thing. That makes the experience extra pleasant. We will definitely come back here more often!

Beautiful dining opportunity / restaurant Where we could choose from the entire menu even though it was already 7 p.m. Delicious food and ample portions. Super nice, friendly service, who also offered to take a photo of us. When she saw us taking pictures of the food. All in all a super fun experience, very tasty food, and all at a very reasonable price! Worth repeating!

I was there at half past four and was probably the first to eat. Friendly lady. The food arrived quickly. It was more than enough for me, a big eater. And what was especially striking: there was a lot of vegetables. Compliments.

Enjoyed a simple but tasty lunch with my daughter this afternoon while doing some shopping in the cozy cafe in the center of Surhuisterveen. It's always pleasantly busy here... both inside and outside on the terrace. Friendly service. Relaxed atmosphere. Not expensive. So just good for a cup of coffee, drink, lunch and dinner in this Surhuisterveen café. Recently had lunch again...the bouncer got a big 8 from my husband. Nice...the tubes with different types of tea...I took 2 tubes otherwise the tea would be too weak. It was great here again. Until next time.

Sat here for lunch. Great spot and very friendly service. A bit of the atmosphere and entourage of a pub with high-quality dishes. The only downside was the large invasive plant that stood on the divider next to our table. Felt a bit like eating in the jungle.

For the first time, we just live in that area and had a delicious meal at Kolkzicht! The atmosphere of the building and the place where we sat was very pleasant and friendly👍. The food was good, delicious even😊. We often found it too salty👎🏻. The tasting as a starter was great. The main courses are really great😊! Remember the salt. Dessert limoncello tiramisu, really great, the whipped cream too(!), but we couldn't finish it🤭. All in all a beautiful evening and definitely worth repeating! Then the wine, that could really be better. Nothing was presented and what was offered we found substandard👎🏻! That can and should be done better. All in all a really nice evening and they will definitely see us more often!🤗

Vriendelijk ontvangt, heerlijk eten in een "grand café" setting. Goede parkeergelegenheid, een reden om even om te rijden.

Leuk en gezellig restaurant en personeel. Maar de boetebedrag die ik had viel tegen Niet erg goed gevuld en gefrituurd? Het was vettig. De ribeye was wat taai en niet heel mals. Verder waren de bijgerechten prima. En leuk personeel. Vanwege de after summer party wat minder lang open. Maar we zaten wel relax.

Heerlijk gegeten. Vriendelijke bediening en vriendelijke prijzen. Sfeervol restaurant met mensen die snappen wat je van een avondje uit eten verwacht.

Had a delicious meal with the family and friends. The service is extremely friendly, always has time for a chat and during the meal they are asked several times if anything can be added. Side dishes are varied and well presented, the main course is beautifully presented and neatly served. Actually, I cannot give any points of attention in this review, simply a top location to have lunch or dinner.

For the price you pay you get very little. Cup of chowder with rye bread 5 bites and your chowder was gone. Cappacio sandwich with toppings flying over it. Too bad it wasn't like that here, but they have lost a regular customer

Leuk plekje om te zitten, ook handig aan de winkelstraat. Hier geluncht, was ontzettend lekker! Broodjes smaken goed en de service is top. Vriendelijk personeel, dat ook alert is op lege glazen. Er was iets fout gegaan met de broodjes waardoor ik een verkeerd broodje had gekregen. Was geen probleem, mochten we houden en het juiste broodje werd supersnel gebracht. Echt top service! Een echte aanrader als je ergens lekker wilt zitten in Surhuisterveen!

Toller sehr aufmerksamer Service, sehr gutes Essen mit guter Auswahl in übersichtlicher Karte. Bei den Beilagen wird man sogar im Verlauf gefragt, ob es genug ist, oder noch etwas nachgebracht werden soll. Nettes Ambiente. Faire Preise. Gerne wieder.

Wanneer ik in Surhuisterveen ben, is dit het aangewezen restaurant voor lunch, diner, of gewoon een borrel. De bediening is zeer vlot en professioneel, en het eten zeer goed.

Heerlijke lunch vlotte bediening

Gezellig, goede bediening en snel.

Gelegen midden in het centrum met een leuk terras. Een groot deel van het terras is niet geschikt om te blijven zitten tijdens een regenbui. De prijzen zijn schappelijk en het personeel is vriendelijk. Alleen bij het opdienen van een drankje hoor je als ober in ieder geval de helft in te schenken en de boel niet alleen op tafel zetten.

Snelle, plezierige bediening ondanks drukte. Prima keuken.

In de drukke winkelstraat van Surhuisterveen bevindt zich dit restaurant. Met terrasbediening. Nadeel is dat de auto’s voortdurend voor je neus langs rijden, en soms voor je stoppen met draaiende motor. Maar dat terzijde. De service was vriendelijk, maar de lunch was nou niet bepaald om over naar huis te schrijven. Slecht gebakken tosti’s, bleek van kleur, met een toefje salade, en een onbeduidende saus erbij. Niks bijzonders, eigenlijk teleurstellend. Niet gauw een tweede keer…

Heerlijke lunch gehad. Gezellige brasserie.

Alles dik ik orde. Met collega's lekker gedineerd. De bediening was prima. Voorgerecht proeverijtje was heerlijk en de biefstuk was lekker mals. Aan te bevelen.

Vroeger toen Hollema er nog in zat kwam ik er vaak. De sfeer van vroeger is volgens mij gebleven. Heerlijk koffie gedronken. Aanrader.

Afgelopen weekend zijn we op een vrijdagavond wezen eten bij brasserie Kolkzicht. Erg goede entourage, gezellige inrichting en goede verdeling van de tafels en stoelen door de ruimte. Ondanks dat het restaurant voor 80% vol zat hoefden we niet lang te wachten op ons eten. Erg prettig! De bediening was erg vriendelijk en vlot. Ook het eten was erg goed. Ouderwets lekkere maaltijden waarbij het erg goed te proeven was dat er veel met verse ingrediënten werd gewerkt. De porties waren perfect en ook werd er gecheckt of er nog bijgerechten aangevuld konden worden. Zeer goede prijs-kwaliteitsverhouding en zeker een aanrader mocht je in de gelegenheid zijn!

Moesten wel even wachten tot we geholpen werden, maar het personeel was vriendelijk en het eten wat zeer goed.

Ik kwam hier vroeger heel vaak. Nu voor ☕ koffie. Lekkerder dan in het algemeen in de horeca.

I go to this restaurant/bar whenever we are in Friesland! In fact I go every day to see our friends. This establishment is family run and the staff is amazing! They make you feel right at home! The decor is very classy as well as cozy! When it is warm there is an amazing outdoor patio. If cool, they have an awning and heaters in case you want to enjoy the sun. The food is excellent and the presentation is wonderful! Bertus and Sjaan are very good chefs!! I highly recommend them!

We have eaten at this restaurant several times over the last few years. The food is plentiful and very good. We have eaten hicken, salmon, shrimp and beef dishes, All are well prepared and presented in a classic family dining experience. It is easy to share the side dishes. We have enjoyed the service and the friendliness of the cafe.
