BRET in Bedrijventerrein Sloterdijk

We were at Bret during ADE. It's a really cool venue, the staff was friendly, and the music was good. BUT the place was way too crowded for our event; you couldn't dance at all. This created an aggressive atmosphere among the guests. As I later saw on Instagram, it was the same at other parties. I know making money is the priority, but next time, let in 50 fewer people.

worst money I‘ve ever spent. they let us wait 20 minutes for a 6m queue in the rain, although we had tickets. and although the tickets were expensive (30€!), inside was completely packed to the point where you could not move. apparently, the 30€ also weren’t enough to pay for bathroom usage, so peeing once cost another 1,5€. the miniscule locker was also insanely overpriced with 8,5€. incredibly greedy, which kills the mood as soon as you get there. people were also vaping and smoking weed inside, although this was officially not allowed nobody did anything to stop it. the music was mediocre at best. if you go upstairs to avoid getting crushed by the crowd, the sound is horrible. if the police is reading this, they also didn’t check ID.

Got kicked and harassed for my “gay dances,” and instead of protecting me, security and management sided with the aggressor. The manager told me if I “don’t fit the vibe,” I should dance somewhere else. Unsafe and absolutely not queer-friendly.

The stench was overwhelming, despite the open-air setting. It felt as though we were celebrating in a public restroom.

Reservations are required. Good food and excellent beer. Crowded and service a bit slow, but worth it.

Super nice decor and a wide selection of beers, it's a shame the menu isn't that extensive or the food wasn't available until later

This comment is forthwith night club, it was over sold crowded long queue for toilet not enough space to dance because many people inside for a small space, same amount outside. The music is not good bad quality speakers and it felt so not intimate.

Soulful, fun, and full of good vibes I went to Bret Bar during a 2-day event, and it was absolutely amazing. The energy was perfect — great music to dance your soul out, but also space to chill outside, grab food, and just enjoy the vibe. The whole setup felt thoughtful and welcoming. The Awareness team was around the whole time, super friendly and supportive, which really added to the safe and relaxed atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back!

Very bad experience. I went there with some colleagues. I made an order for 2 persons, but they did not charge the right amount, they charged the double. When I realized after I have paid, I asked for a refund. They refused it. They just proposed to bring food or an other drink. I find this practice terrible, this is not customer friendly and not honnest at all. I would not recommend this place

Cozy green spot right next to the Amsterdam Sloterdijk station. Cozy and nice spot to have a drink with friends or colleagues while enjoying some snacks and pizza.

Average crowd, grumpy service and security. And the prices are insane. 5,50 for a regular beer and 8 euros for a small locker. Will never come here again.

I was having one of the best parties ever until this happened and I decided to leave, has techno now become a place for self entitled culture protectors?! After dancing for a few hours, I was enjoying a little rest while observing the amazing crowd from the 1st floor balcony and truly enjoying the vibe. Legs were aching so for a few minutes I was laying on the balcony edge until someone approached me with a "Is this your first time at Bret?" and then went on lecturing me about how my position in that moment would "Stop the energy flowing from the groundfloor to the balcony" and reminded me in a very pedantic way that the balcony was also a dancefloor (like I didn't just dance there for the past hour lol), and had to repeat this multiple times implying that if I wanted to rest, I had to leave and that the balcony is not a spot for observing others dance. For a moment I didn't even understand what they meant, I thought they were part of the staff and were warning me about a safety concern since I was laying on the balcony edge but then I understood that I was in for a techno lesson by a regular Bretter..... One can not stop dancing for a moment? One can not absorb the energy and give it back by standing in that position? Stop assuming. Stop assuming what one knows about clubbing and the music itself, stop assuming what one is doing, thinking and feeling. I have been to so many clubs in my life and I have never heard this nonsense, dude talked to me like I took the wrong exit to Tomorrowland. Whatever energy you talk about, I was having it, and you ruined it. And I had to leave. Thank you for ruining my experience. People like you are the real danger for what you call community and culture. So busy JUDGING others that they forget about the unity and the values at the base of such. It almost feels like a nonsense to write this here and give this tiny person importance, but 2 days later I am still so pissed and disappointed. Thank you for ruining my day and my amazing experience at your beloved Bret.

Bret Slapfunk Weekender Monday night Pentecost weekend. We felt like guests (something to do with age), but damn..what a nice group. So welcome and what energy. If you dance in the club at 70% (and want to go to 100%)..then Bret is the place to be. If you hang around on the dance floor…talking, smoking etc…just skip Bret. Bret is high energy, open mind and a smile. Sound: good/very good…earplugs. Lighting: was still light. Club itself: nothing fancy, but cozy/warm. Toilets: point for improvement with the ladies. Age: 20-30. Vibe: Max. DJs: top. Visitors: all kinds of things, but in the right proportion. How to place: for me, regarding dancing, it came very close to the old IT feeling…and how nice is that! I don't know if I would go again soon…sometimes you have to let the youth do their thing…without the oldies.

I rarely give bad reviews but this club was a disappointment. Rude bouncers and I was not allowed to say bye to my friend on the side. Not amicable receivers. After awakenings upclose, I was excited to go to the afterparty, but was disappointed. Got fritz kola and instead of getting the whole bottle I got a cup with half ice and half the bottle of fritz kola. Acoustics wasn’t also it. Unsure if I’ll give it another chance, but this experience left a bad taste. Sorry, but if youre trying to be a cool club, it’s not it.

SCAMMERS I went there the last Sunday 27th, I paid 112 euros for three tickets but then they didn’t let my friends to go in just after we paid, so we decided to leave, I didn’t even entry so I asked to have my money back. They said I will have my money back but I had to do it by e-mail. I sent a lot of emails and they still no answer. Not serious business. Don’t recommend to any one. scammers.

I cannot say much about the bar, my review is about the club. they are not very respectful to their many residential neighbors. We are all supporting a good party, but if you host 48hrs raves in an area with apartments, noise isolation is a must (and aligned with their permit). But despite complaints, no willingness to compromise :( Amsterdam lives with a nightlife, and we all respect that, but loud base sounds for hours and hours, every weekend? There are many clubs in Amsterdam who manage this delicate balance better!

Last Saturday (April 12) I went out in Amsterdam. We started at Sissi, but the security there was very unfriendly (I would strongly advise against the club!). Then I went to Bret, and that really made a world of difference. My phone was dead and I had lost my friends, but I was treated very kindly. I was allowed to charge my phone and sit with the staff for a while. Luckily we found it later and had a super fun evening! Compliments to Mariama, Suus, Jay and the rest of the team who were working at that time. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend the club to everyone!!

Nice music, nice dj’s but I think I've been to many clubs in my life, but I've never had to pay €8 for the wardrobe, I can't find the words to describe this shame, and closing the bathrooms an hour before the club closes is truly scandalous.

Was visiting Amsterdam from London and came here to see a DJ I wanted to see for an all night set. Firstly the locker situation was a nightmare was so overcrowded it took us ages to sort that out and was €8?? The space was extremely overcrowded that you couldn’t even dance - what is the point of going to see a Dj where it’s too busy to move?? I kept getting very panicked from the crowdedness and my partner was crushed at one point. I can’t stand it when venues are too greedy or careless that they oversell tickets. Left and went home very disappointed.

Love Bret! One of my fav hangouts after work with friends! Great snacks, love the plant atmosphere! Super chill during warm and sunny days outside on the terrace! One idea, would be great to hang ashtrays on the fence wall for people sitting there! I noticed people just throwing their cigs on the floor, would eliminate this issue and easy for clean up ;)

A conveniently located bar where I had a couple of beers with some colleagues. The interior is filled with lots of plants and wood. Perfect for an after work drink.

Waited outside for over an hour at night until they started letting people in. Too few and dirty toilets without toilet paper. €1 'deposit' paid per cup that you will not get back. When I returned the cup, I still had to 'buy' a new cup. Small locker €8.25 for a few hours.

Absolutely rocking this place is. 24hr rave, so good for the local economy. Keep up the good work!!

It’s a cozy place and burger was juicy but not that much delicious as I expected and the fries was just ok. The staffs are also friendly. In total I would like to give them 3.5/5

Wonderful underground club in Amsterdam. Marvelous.

They had a rave that lasted more than 24h+ and I could hear it from my hotel room opposite and struggled to get to sleep. How this allowed?? Super disruptive to everyone around.

Very small and crowded place. Felt unsafe in some moments in which people could walk through bar areas even. Terribles lines for toilets because of this. Sound could be upgraded and bar staff service was not great either. Was ignored for a good 10 minutes while they prioritized serving girls. I was also bullied verbally by two patrons at the door while I asked security where the exit was as it was my first time there and they were mocking me repeating the question in a funny manner and laughing at me. The guard laughed together with them instesd of managing the situation. Lockers were sold out from the start of the event due to low ratio of capacity to lockers. Really bad experience for me.

Bad operation. We came in and wanted to have a table or ask a question at all. Two employees behind the bar were having a nice conversation with each other, but they didn't care that we were waiting there for five minutes. What an attitude… If you're not working or on a break, maybe go somewhere other than behind the bar. I strongly advise against it!

Stood at the bar for FIVE minutes to get the attention of 2 bartenders doing nothing, (the 2 bartenders just chatting with each other in front of waiting clients). We just left and went elsewhere ;)

Nice place, service a little long but it's great for eating on the go and in a little green spot before or after a train trip.

Best club in Amsterdam during summer. This place has everything to be the perfect warm weather club. For how small this place is they have a huge amount of outdoor space in the form of a garden and a rooftop terrace. There is only one stage but it has great sound quality. You should definitely go here if there is a day event on a sunny day.

Water from paper carton that tastes like paper really disgusting. If you don’t like plastic bottles then offer water in hard cups instead. Overall weird vibe party. However will give it at another try one day

This place totally deserves 5 stars all because the service. My phone is 10% left to die and I had nowhere to go because I'm waiting for the bus to pick me in 4 hours. Out of desperation, I found this place, ordered coffee and asked them if they could help me charge my phone a little bit. The guy helped find a charger and allowed me to have my coffee and wait for my phone to be charged. He saved my day totally. I'm much grateful. Thank you for the helping hand to a stranger. God bless this place and the people.

Always good, we often come here for a drink. The only major disadvantage is the benches you have to sit on, which are not comfortable. I can't keep that up for an evening.

Nice place with some good beers. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was quite nice. Didn't try the food, but if you are staying in a nearby hotel, it's a nice place to grab a beer.

Mini locker for €8 and a dead beer for €11 😳 Totally crazy! Atmosphere was also mehh and the space was too small, so asking for such amounts is really a NO GO! Feels like a rip-off for sure... Wouldn't even expect this at the biggest festivals where they want quality to prevail and not the feeling that you're screwed 🤨 Pity... We lay in our bed again for 2 hours 😂🥰

Na een lange schooldag doe ik hier regelmatig met klasgenootjes een borrel. Er hangt altijd een leuke, relaxte sfeer en de hapjes zijn erg lekker!

Really bad experience w staff. Our glasses w deposit were picked up in return for plastic coins. Then bar staff told that those coins couldn’t be turned back into cash. What a ridiculous and unfair system.

Deze plek ziet er leuk uit en heeft wel een fijne sfeer met een leuk muziekje en veel groen. Personeel ook prima. Maar de toiletten vond ik goor (het stinkt er en het was gewoon niet opgeruimd) en je moet ook niet bang zijn voor ratten want die scharrelen op het terras vrolijk rond. Ik zou er niet snel nog eens naartoe gaan.

Amazing place to drink after work

Jammer, dat zij niet meer voor de lunch serveren dan foccacia met olijven, tomaat of kaas. Zeer relaxte sfeer.

很糟。完全沒有服務。廁所很臭。餐點點了之後等了一個多小時才上菜，薯條不熱，生菜有點不新鮮，漢堡也普通。

Cool bar made of shipping containers. Great place to while away time before a train, next to the railway station or a coach, 3 minutes walk to the main coach station. Good local beer and comfortable chairs in the garden.

This place is really cool, in such a convenient location in sloterdijk Station, good snacks and good staff, good prizes and good terrace outdoors with build up wood platforms to sit in the sun. ONE thing though, each time I go there, the toilet smells of pee before you even open the door and the toilet is never clean... 🤷🏼‍♀️ there's a big pissuar in the men's toilet, door always open and it perfumes the whole toilet corridor and space....

Afgezien van de harde muziek - waardoor je elkaar nauwelijks verstaat - is de sfeer prima in Bret. Ook op de inrichting en opstelling van tafeltjes etc. valt weinig aan te merken. Het eten en de service zijn echter ver beneden peil. Zelfs de meest eenvoudige samenstelling - je moet zelf je eten en drinken bestellen en ophalen (wat opzich prima is) - valt uit elkaar in chaos. De kwaliteit van het eten is bovendien drama. Veel te zoute friet, veel te vette salade. De burger was oke maar niet geweldig. Bret is prima voor een dikke rave maar verder lekker overslaan.

Prima tentje. Je moet een beetje je best doen voor een biertje en het is vrij prijzig maar dat zijn typische Amsterdamse minpunten aan het worden. Verder hangt er een gezellige sfeer.

I was here a couple of days ago at a Thursday afternoon (5pm-8pm). In my opinion a typical after work bar. Urban style. It was packed. There was also a DJ at some point in time, however he was not so visible. Place is directly next to the Sloterdijk station at the Orly Square side which is very convenient. Upstairs they also have some space but when I was there, they had a private party in that section. For dinner don't expect a lot. It is more a bar then a restaurant. Service level so so. For Dutch people I think good, if you come from a more service oriented country it is not so good. Location: Excellent After work environment: very good Food/snacks: so so
