We had a lovely time sitting with our dear friends from the west of the country. The service was very friendly, vegan apple pie, vegan brownies. What more could you ask for? A good cup of coffee, two iced coffees and two Kombuchas. It was a real treat again and nice to end the day at Brownies & Downies, where our dear friends' daughter also works. She works in Leiden herself, and Enschede was also really good according to her 😉👍🏻

A small but excellent menu. The cakes are especially recommended, but also the chicken burger with fries. Everything is fresh and delicious. The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is cozy.

What a lovely restaurant. I went here for lunch and immediately upon entering you feel the passion and atmosphere, and the staff is friendly. Delicious food made with fresh ingredients! Highly recommended! People who do everything they can to give you a wonderful lunch.

It was my first time at Brownies&Downies. The cheesecake was absolutely delicious. I think the concept of employing people with Down syndrome is fantastic, and that's one of the reasons I chose to go there – to support it. The shop isn't particularly large, but it's in a lovely location. I'll definitely be back.

Such delicious coffee, made with a real espresso machine – you can really taste the difference. They even served a small, sweet cake on the side, absolutely delicious. Next time I'll come and try the cakes too 🍰 Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, highly recommended.

Whenever we are in Enschede, we always have to make a stop at Brownies&Downies, at least for a coffee and some brownies. Sweet and friendly staff.

I wanted to treat myself for my birthday. Everyone was very busy with an order: making gift packages. I was mostly alone. After 25 minutes of tea, it turned out they'd forgotten my order. Too busy with... It would take another 20 minutes. They gave me a very weak excuse. Birthday afternoon/shopping afternoon ruined. The tea could at least have been on the house with a real apology (and congratulations)! Ugh.

To conclude our stay in Enschede, we visited Brownies&downieS. We enjoyed the drinks: the cappuccino, hot chocolate with a stroopwafel, and pumpkin spice latte macchiato were all delicious and beautifully presented. We also ordered a chocolate brownie with M&M's and a slice of apple pie. Unfortunately, the cakes weren't quite to our liking. The brownie was too dense and dry, and the apple pie didn't suit our taste. Overall, though, it's a cozy café with a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service, especially well-suited for a coffee break in downtown Enschede.

Nice little cafe with very helpful staff. The girl working there was super helpful as I dont understand dutch and didnt know how normally people would go for an afternoon coffee in NL. so she suggested me a combo of speculoos brownies and chocomel that was very classic dutch and I really liked it.

A very nice and pleasant café. Unfortunately, it was very overpriced. My coffee was only half full, and I had to pay €3.20 for it. The cup was also extremely small, which made the half-full amount even more disappointing. Otherwise, the café itself is very nice.

On a sunny day, mid-afternoon, we land on the small terrace of Brownies & Downies. Inside, a relatively large group is eating. As a result, there is no attention for the customers on the terrace. At some point we go inside to order something. The ice coffees are quite tasty but not very cold. To pay, we go back inside because the service does not come to the terrace at all. Nice concept...but still. A little more attention and service is badly needed.

I was deeply impressed by the positive energy in the store and the commitment of the team. In addition to the social aspect, the quality is also convincing: both of our smoothies were fresh, creatively combined and simply delicious 🍹🍓. Snelle en vlotte bediening met duidelijke uitleg over wat je bestellen wilt. Menukaart biedt volop variatie (dranken, voorgerecht, lunch, diner). Wij kozen voor een lunchplank waar we heerlijk van gegeten hebben. Een werkbezoek van docenten naar Enschede. We hebben heerlijk geluncht bij Downies en Brownies. We werden heel netjes en professioneel aan de tafel bediend! De bestelling werd keurig opgenomen. We hebben thee en koffie besteld en een lunchplank. Dat waren grote lunchplanken die goed gevuld waren met pancakes, bitterbal, homemade tomatosoup en 2 flink belegde sandwiches met carpaccio en rosbief. Het was echt heerlijk. Vrolijke en gezellige bediening. Prachtig dat Downies & Brownies deze jonge mensen in hun kracht zet en hun laat schitteren! Een aanrader voor iedereen! 👍🏼😉

Great concept with very attentive and positive people. Everyone does what they can. I go there every time I visit Enschede (and Katwijk). Unfortunately, it is not conceivable or feasible in Germany due to a lack of patience and an eye for what is essential: be a human being.

This is one of our favorite spots in the city. The coffee here is super tasty. Today we brought the dog with us, she was allowed to lie inside and was immediately given a bowl of water. Good service!

I was here this afternoon with my mother, the atmosphere is cozy and the staff was very friendly, and the food was great! I had the Katsu Sando and it was delicious, crunchy and definitely recommended! My mother had the Tuna Toast, which was also very tasty (and very filling!) We will definitely come back!

When we walked into the open door not knowing that they had already been closed for 6 minutes, a very rude blonde young lady with a ponytail came towards us. She was very rude and did not give an appropriate response. If it was kindly communicated that they were closed, it was of course no problem. However, we were treated as if we came to demolish the place

Very nice and good, the only disadvantage is that if you choose a "brownie tasting", you pay almost 3 euros more and get 4 mini pieces of brownie that together are less than 2/3 of a normal brownie. Hence no 5 stars.

Brownies & Downies als naam doen mij iets anders verwachten. De 1e waren wel zichtbaar aanwezig. De 2e niet gezien. Verder net etablissement en keurig geholpen.

*Auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert * Gut zugänglich mit dem Kinderwagen Dank breiter Gänge. Leider kein Hochstuhl vorhanden. Modern und gemütlich eingerichtet mit kleinen Sitzecken wie auch größeren Tischgruppen. Sauberes WC und sehr aufmerksamer und freundlicher Service. Sehr leckere Kaffeespezialitäten (zu empfehlen ist hier besonders die Haselnuss-Latte). Der Brownie war teils etwas trocken, was aber auch am Feiertag gelegen haben kann. Alles in allem Top!

Je kan hier lekker ontspannen lunchen, ook met een gezin met kinderen. Er staat genoeg lekkers om uit te kiezen. op de kaart. Het idee achter het restaurant is sympathiek en het personeel is vriendelijk en vrolijk.

Sehr gute Idee, eine Bistro-Kette, die Menschen mit Behinderung beschäftigt. Auch die Umsetzung ist richtig gut gemacht, Tablets mit Symbol-Bildern als Unterstützung für die holländischen Bedienungen, damit die auch mit den radebrechenden deutschen Touris klarkommen. Dann sind mir die kleinen, handlichen Servier Tabletts aufgefallen. Die haben nicht nur einen hohen Rand zur Serviersicherheit, sondern sind auch jedesmal mit Keks, Zucker und Wasser zum Kaffee aufgehübscht. Das hat man ja bei uns in D noch nicht mal in einem normalen Bistro! Ich denke, dies wird ab sofort für uns zum Pflichtbesuch beim Stadtbummel in Enschede!
