Good food, but the service is sometimes not very friendly. Too bad! I think it's a very nice place.

I waited a very long time to order, but the service was very friendly. After ordering, it was served quickly. The restaurant is lovely too!

Delicious coffee and a variety of drinks, with quick service. The location is so convenient and I love the vibe of the place. Met up with a friend here and we were able to sit outside in the summer and enjoy our time without feeling rushed!

The food was disappointing. Clearly store-bought products, not homemade. Small portions, especially the falafel. The coffee wasn't very good either. It's a great location though! It's conveniently located near the station and right next to the Wereldmuseum. The staff is very friendly, but they did make a few mistakes.

Location is gorgeous, but service is slow and sub-par. I waited for 15 mins before a gentleman served the table next to me, noticed me, and when I asked for a menu, told me to go get one from the cash counter. This when many other tables have menus displayed on them (my table didn’t have one). Unfortunate experience, will not return.

Delightfully cozy little café in Leiden! I dropped by Café Abel for my morning caffeine fix while visiting Leiden, and was quite impressed — the outdoor seating area was extremely peaceful and had ample seating, the service was speedy and attentive, and the coffee was phenomenal. I had a lovely almond milk latte, and my friend grabbed an iced vanilla latte. The coffee was smooth and rich, and the latte art was gorgeous; I didn’t see their pastries until we were heading out, but they looked gorgeous and I can’t wait to come back to give them a try.

Very nice local, with friendly stuff, nice atmosfere, good location and great coffee! The service was fast and the food was delicious! They have lots of food and drinks to pick from! Very good! I recommend.

I thought I would have a nice drink with my sister on a terrace. When she asked where the toilet was, she got the answer: WHERE THE SIGN FOR TOILET IS, OF COURSE. Then we waited fifteen minutes for two coffees, one of which had overflowed over the saucer. And on top of that we had to pay 5 euros for an Americano on ice! In short: a very unfriendly gentleman and far too expensive for what you get.

We were out and about in Leiden today and wanted something quick to eat and drink. We found Kaffee Abel in the corner, and I ordered a smoothie, sweet potato soup (the soup of the day), and falafel. They tasted really, really good. The servers were really friendly. I wanted to share some soup with my girlfriend. I actually just asked for an extra spoon, and they served it to us separately in two bowls. Everyone was really, really nice and friendly. I'd love to come back. Thank you very much.

A very cute little café with delicious drinks, and the food is also excellent. The prices are very reasonable, with food and drinks at around €10-15 per person. There are plenty of vegan options, and coffees can also be ordered with alternative milk. The service was very good, and the food and drinks arrived quickly. Highly recommended if you just want to relax in a good atmosphere with food and drinks!

My favourite place ever! The iced latte is amazing. Great people behind the counter. The view overlooking the canal and the museum building is magical. I collected enough stamps and they gave me a free iced latte. 10/10 recommended

Café Abel in Leiden is a lovely spot, especially thanks to its strategic location right in front of the Museum Volkenkunde. It’s a great place to stop by, whether you’re visiting the museum or just walking around the area. My favorite seats are the ones by the canal, you get a peaceful view and a nice breeze, perfect for a relaxing break. The coffee here is ok overall. The espresso was okay a bit too overly extracted or too thin grain, but the cappuccino was good. It’s a nice little place to chill out, enjoy some baked goods, cappuccino or latte and take in the surroundings.

Lovely informal (modern) cafe. Popped in for a cup of coffee, which was a good cup. We immediately upgraded to the petit déjuner, which was a good move. Nice glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, croissant with jam and butter. We were able to quietly read the newspaper and saw everyone around us that they had stepped out of the hustle and bustle and were enjoying the moment. Highly recommended!

I ate a delicious croque monsieur myself. Colleague had a cashew chicken sandwich with lots of large pieces of chili pepper. That was not clearly stated in the description on the menu. It said bell pepper and that means paprika, not chili pepper.

We came for breakfast at Café Abel. Pleasant stay both indoors and outdoors. Sufficient seating. Cozy and cozy inside. Get away from the city in relaxing outdoor courtyard garden. Service started slowly. So slow that after fifteen minutes I went inside to ask for a menu card and more than fifteen minutes later to order again (as well as for the rest of the customers who had arrived on the outside terrace. By the way, it was not inside or outside. busy, but there was a nice chat behind the staff.) Once the service was up and running, we were helped friendly and quickly and different wishes for breakfast were dealt with flexibly. Coffee very tasty, generous cup. Fresh cloverleaf tea. Very tasty. It's a shame that the tea bag is already in place when serving at the table. In my opinion, this should be served separately. French toast delicious! Smoothie bowl beautifully prepared and large portion. Unfortunately watery in taste. Delicious toppings. Cakes... delicious and very wide in choice! You can definitely come back here more often for that. As well as the lunch sandwiches that we saw passing by. It all looks great. Great first visit. Mediocre start that was then well overtaken... Place to come back.

Very cozy cafe! Very reasonable prices and you will receive good help. You can also save for coffee here with a stamp card :) and in the summer you can sit along the water. Recommended!

The cafe is located on a very strategic location in front of Museum Volkenkunde in Leiden. My favorite spot is the table next to the canal. The coffee is very good, the croissant is buttery, and the apple struddle is tasty. A very recommended place to chill out.

On a sunny day, the Cafe has an amazing atmosphere. You can sit outside with a view to the canal and enjoy your coffee in a relaxing and peaceful surrounding. Stopped here for a coffee break on our journey since the place is quite near to Leiden central.

Wow, hier kun je echt gezond eten! De komende 2 jaar moet ik me aan een versie van het MIND dieet houden, voor wetenschappelijk onderzoek naar de gezondheid van hersenen. Bij Abel gaat dat helemaal goed.
