Café Braakhekke in Wijk 15 Bathmen

Really good bruin cafe. Friendly staff and customers, with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. I chatted to them using my basic Dutch. Had a couple of biertjes and a drop shot. The beer was very well kept. A great little kroeg in a lovely location and I will visit again next time I am in Deventer.

Beautiful setting in a relaxed chilled out modern location with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. My only critique would be that I prefer a coffee to come out of a barista machine rather than a pod but other than that Nesspresso pods are not too bad and the friendly staff location actually make up for it.

Small but nice. Very cozy and relaxed atmosphere. You can also play board games here on Saturday evenings, and there's a foosball table. Unfortunately, they don't have a live music tradition (yet, perhaps). Friendly staff. So glad I found this place as a new Deventer resident.

During the cup final I had a particularly unpleasant experience with a guard who called himself the “boss of the Alm”. As a 20-year-old girl, I felt extremely intimidated by his disrespectful and arrogant attitude. My girlfriend and I had been waiting in line for over 15 minutes, while he allowed other people in as soon as they took a step. When I, with a beer in hand, asked in a light-hearted manner if that also applied to me, he took my glass and threw it away - completely unnecessary and disrespectful. When I asked later why others were allowed to enter without waiting, I was immediately turned down. I was told that he decides everything, that I had to "get down" and not have a big mouth. All this while I asked a question in a normal way. I have never felt so unwanted and unfairly treated at a festive evening like this. That someone with such an attitude is responsible for access to a cafe is really worrying. ChatGPT can make mistakes. Check bell
