This building is the former station of the Westland Steam Tramway Company. Passenger service ceased in the 1930s, but freight trains continued to run between Loosduinen and Delft until 1968. The steam tram once took you all the way to The Hague and back to Maassluis or Delft. It's now a beautiful cycling route between Den Hoorn and Maasland, with a unique tram bridge at Schipluiden.
