Just a pub as a pub should be. Good owner and very skilled and knowledgeable staff. The terrace isn't big but it's a super location, lots of beers on tap and more than enough in bottles. Top Bar/Cafe!! Worth a visit.

Fun fact! The beer was good and the staff were very knowledgeable about fun facts regarding the beer. Another small fact: the snack mix consisted only of bitterballen.

This is and remains a place worth visiting. Those tastings are top-notch.

Unexpectedly ended up at Café de Grendelpoort. Such a passionate sommelier, rarely seen. We enjoyed the warm welcome and the professional approach. Tasted some wonderfully delicious beers.

A religious experience. These gentlemen brewed their own Stouts, and as a stout lover, it left me completely speechless and almost brought tears to my eyes. Fantastically delicious, a beautiful balance in the beer. The finest stout I have ever experienced. The service was fantastic, friendly and beer nerds—what more could you ask for?

Lovely, our regular spot. Enjoyed some good beer. Spontaneous conversations, played a game, shared tasty beers, and caught up with Xavier and his team.

Good explanation of the specialty beers. Definitely recommended for specialty beer enthusiasts. We didn't eat anything there, so we cannot judge that.

We've been coming to Valkenburg several times a year for years. This was our first time at this cafe. What a great place! Great music and especially beer...lots of beer. With every round, we hear the story behind the beer. It tastes even better. We'll definitely be back!

Top cafe with top staff and a very friendly owner who at least takes action when people start being difficult and start making racist and stupid comments. Drinks are quickly answered and served.

It is a shame that quite a few racist Dutch people come here, but what do you expect from Christmas City Valkenburg? However, the cafe is an asset to Valkenburg, with an owner who really understands the situation and takes action against racism. The selection is good for both food and drinks. Highly recommended.

Don't go! Unfriendly staff and filthy restrooms. Ordering a beer was already a challenge for some of the bartenders.

It was comfortable at first. Ordering beer wasn't allowed. The door kept opening and unlocking. Women's toilet down my throat. I'm also not sure if it was fire safe. All in all, not recommended.

If you raise your hand to order a beer, they insult you, very unfriendly staff. And the toilets were filthy!

What a cozy pub, really nice here. There were some annoying people, though. They got three warnings and still didn't listen. After that, they were politely sent away. Highly recommended.

The perfect pub to visit during a weekend in Valkenburg! They have a wide selection of beers, and the staff knows all about them. The pub food is also excellent (tip: nachos and sauerkraut!), and as an added bonus, they play great music, one of the few pubs in Valkenburg! Highly recommended :-)

A true traditional Dutch pub with over 100 beers on offer. They don't even have a menu! They have a beer to suit every taste. A very atmospheric, cozy, and welcoming atmosphere!

I walked past there in the afternoon and saw they were having a beer tasting and a snack on the side. In the evening, I sat down at the terrace. And guess what, I ordered a beer tasting. That's three different beers and a bowl of nuts. After that, I quickly devoured a La Chouffe cherry and a Leffe blond. And of course, I also enjoyed a mixed appetizer. Delicious, too.

Top tent on a top location with top staff and a top owner. Can't say anything else than that it is a very nice café. Lots of beer and behind every glass, can or bottle a story. Already spent an evening here twice during a weekend in Valkenburg and enjoyed it very much.

Xavier and Senna will make sure you're seen. Tell them what you like, and they'll find the perfect beer to go with it. Don't mind? Then the tasting is also recommended. And it changes regularly. They don't serve actual meals here, but they do serve snacks. But I didn't include those in my rating. The owners do have some good tips for a delicious dinner. In short, if you're in Valkenburg and enjoy a good beer in a cozy atmosphere with two great owners, go to Grendelpoort.

Super gezellig café. Er zijn veel verschillende bieren waar het personeel meer dan voldoende over kan vertellen. Buiten dat is het personeel erg gastvrij en hangt er een vriendelijke/ gastvrije sfeer in het café. Ik zou dit zeker aanraden

You can also be surprised by a beer on the advice of the 2 patrons! I did that and discovered new tasty beers. What a nice place at Muntstraat 17 close to the Grendelpoort! What I discovered by chance! Those are usually the most beautiful moments on holiday! Top address! Keep it up!
