Best beer bar in the Town, if you are looking for some special drinks, this is the right place. From the selection of sours to the aged beers. They have it all. And the staff is super super professional and helpful. Highly recommended place.

The perfect pub to visit during a weekend in Valkenburg! They have a wide selection of beers, and the staff knows all about them. The pub food is also excellent (tip: nachos and sauerkraut!), and as an added bonus, they play great music, one of the few pubs in Valkenburg! Highly recommended :-)

A true traditional Dutch pub with over 100 beers on offer. They don't even have a menu! They have a beer to suit every taste. A very atmospheric, cozy, and welcoming atmosphere!

I walked past there in the afternoon and saw they were having a beer tasting and a snack on the side. In the evening, I sat down at the terrace. And guess what, I ordered a beer tasting. That's three different beers and a bowl of nuts. After that, I quickly devoured a La Chouffe cherry and a Leffe blond. And of course, I also enjoyed a mixed appetizer. Delicious, too.

Enjoyed some unique, delicious local beers. The owner and staff are highly knowledgeable about the various beers they serve. Tip: try the tasting platter for a variety!

Nice, cozy beer cafe (ABT). Friendly and professional staff. One of the better beer cafes in Limburg. Regular surprises on tap or in the bottle. Definitely worth it. Went there again on May 13, 2023. Excellent service and a few surprises on tap.

A cozy traditional pub with a wide selection of beers and even more knowledge! We sampled some local beers, which the owner was very knowledgeable about, and the atmosphere was always welcoming. It's also beautifully decorated!

Top tent on a top location with top staff and a top owner. Can't say anything else than that it is a very nice café. Lots of beer and behind every glass, can or bottle a story. Already spent an evening here twice during a weekend in Valkenburg and enjoyed it very much.

Me and my girlfriend had a fantastic time there. Super friendly and jovial. Had a fantastic time on Sunday evening with a number of (international) regular customers. Highly recommended if you are in Valkenburg and the surrounding area. In short… super!!🍺

Gezellig, sfeervol, klein cafe. Vriendelijke bediening. Lekkere biertjes! Naast de Grendelpoort midden in het centrum van Valkenburg.

Xavier and Senna will make sure you're seen. Tell them what you like, and they'll find the perfect beer to go with it. Don't mind? Then the tasting is also recommended. And it changes regularly. They don't serve actual meals here, but they do serve snacks. But I didn't include those in my rating. The owners do have some good tips for a delicious dinner. In short, if you're in Valkenburg and enjoy a good beer in a cozy atmosphere with two great owners, go to Grendelpoort.

Cosy little place with a very wide selection of beers. If you like Belgian style beers this place is for you. The only food available are bar snacks but that's exactly what you want when trying different beers. Good service from knowledgeable staff

Super gezellig café. Er zijn veel verschillende bieren waar het personeel meer dan voldoende over kan vertellen. Buiten dat is het personeel erg gastvrij en hangt er een vriendelijke/ gastvrije sfeer in het café. Ik zou dit zeker aanraden

You can also be surprised by a beer on the advice of the 2 patrons! I did that and discovered new tasty beers. What a nice place at Muntstraat 17 close to the Grendelpoort! What I discovered by chance! Those are usually the most beautiful moments on holiday! Top address! Keep it up!

Here the last round is already at half past one while they close at 2 o'clock, unfortunately we could not taste any more beer, it looked nice but not the hospitable service you would expect from a specialty beer cafe.

A great cafe with great service! We wanted to participate in the "Bok, Beer & Bites" activity of the bokken weeks 2024, but all participating cafes closed very early. We were welcomed in the Grendelpoort by an extremely friendly woman who let us taste all the bock beers on tap with great explanations, stories, humor and atmosphere. It is highly recommended to do a beer tasting here and even after the normal tasting of 3 glasses you can continue to order sample glasses and try out the entire bar. If I'm ever in Valkenburg again, I will 100% definitely visit here again!

Absolutely cool, lots of different types of beer, I think over 200 (!), great ambience and really nice service. A little tip: when everything in Valkenburg is closed (around 10:30 p.m.), you can still get something here until after midnight.

Het cafe is op een hele gezellige plek meteen naast de poort. Er komt een plekje vrij waar wij meteen gaan zitten en natuurlijk nemen wij ook de proeverij. Aardige bediening, prachtig weer en zin in de lekkere biertjes! Proost!

Delicious beers, wide range and friendly helpful staff. Helped by a nice guy who was happy to tell you something about beer and help you make the right choice. Location is also very nice and cozy between the bars and the Grendelpoort. All in all a top tent.

Beautiful beer experience (Paix Dieux, De Goudale GC) with the highlight being a blind taste test of Westvleteren 12 vs St Bernardus 12. Despite the rumors that the same yeast is secretly used for both beers, the taste experience is clearly different :-). Thank you team for a great experience!

Incredibly friendly and hospitable staff. If you don't like a beer, it will be resolved with a beer that does taste good! We will definitely come back here again. If we had lived in Valkenburg, this would certainly have become our favorite pub. What a great tent!

Now the favorite place for us when we are in Valkenburg. They take the time for a nice chat and, if desired, give very good and extensive advice when choosing a drink. People with a passion for their profession and knowledge of their products. Hope to come here for years to come!

Even voor 14u, zonnige zondag in Valkenburg. Als bierliefhebbers zijn we speciaal gekomen voor café De Grendelpoort, omdat het een biercafé zou zijn. Terras stond op, kussens op de stoelen, tafeltjes buiten, deur open, licht aan binnen, dus we gaan rustig zitten. Komt een onvriendelijke jongeman buiten 'We zijn wel nog niet open hoor" en loopt snel terug naar binnen. Ik vraag nog om hoe laat dan wel, maar krijg een onverstaanbaar antwoord. Ik vraag nog eens en er werd van binnen toegeroepen 'ergens na 14u, ik weet ook niet juist wanneer!' en weg was hij. Klantvriendelijkheid: 0/10! Het was 10 voor 14 uur. 'Hallo, neem plaats, we zijn nog niet open, maar ik ben binnen 10 min. bij jullie, is dat oké?' was een veel beter aanpak geweest! Na een wandeling zijn we terechtgekomen bij Bistro Michiel, waar we wel vriendelijk (en in het zonnetje) ontvangen werden en uiteindelijk voor meer dan 75 euro conusmeerden.

On repasse sur place après le resto pour se faire plaisir et surtout gouter des vrais bières spéciales . Quel plaisir d'avoir des bouteilles de petites brasseries et qui sont des petits nectar pour certaines. Déco dans le style. On reviendra
