Great cafe to have a drink or a bite to eat.

Ripped off right before my eyes… I mentioned that I had been waiting for a while, while others around me were being served. I spoke to the bartender about this and he responded somewhat irritably. Subsequently, I had to pay 12 euros for 1 beer and a couple. Which didn't feel right to me already... then a friend of mine gets exactly the same thing for 9.50😵‍💫 very peculiar. Then I mentioned this to a female colleague of his and she said, “Not my problem”🫠. Well, I find it peculiar; surely you don't treat customers like that, or am I seeing this wrong🤷🏼‍♀️.

Super nice eatery. The food was fantastic. Rarely have I eaten such delicious spare ribs. Romy was working alone serving us, but still always took plenty of time for us. Thanks again, Romy. You gave us a lovely afternoon. :)

A fun bar for a night out, but it does tend to attract a young crowd. The restrooms were very crowded.

Beer is getting very expensive..

We went there after the funeral, everything was neatly arranged, highly recommended.

Really unfriendly security, during the weekend I was not allowed to come in because I am not a regular customer 👎

I came here at night to go out and I had to wait in line for 20 minutes to get in and wait another 10 minutes to hang up my coat. Then a grumpy and angry lady said there was no room, while ten people had collected their coats before me. When I politely asked why I couldn't hang it up, she got even angrier and sent me away. I find this unacceptable service. Especially in a place where you cannot hang your coat without paying for it without it being stolen. I hope something is done about this, because this is really not possible.

Most parties for my university happen here, and they're perfectly equiped for it. Good drinks, never had food here so i don't know if it's any good. The music is a little less international then i like but it is the Netherlands...

Super great food!! Everyone was full and the portions were sufficient. We ate outside, it was very cozy. The service was very nice and accommodating. Unfortunately the waiter had a very cold, so a point was deducted because he belonged in bed. Nevertheless, we will definitely come back.

Fun every weekend, only the DJ could use a beatmatching and tone mixing course😉

The tuna salad was delicious. The Greek hamburger was disappointing. The tzatziki tasted weak and watery. But the service was top notch

I was desperately looking for a coffee and I came here. Open late, I only tried the coffee and it was good!

Our evening at De Kansel started off nicely. My husband heard that they had his favorite whiskey Lagavulin (16 yr). Well we found a nice table on the outside so that we sat freely but also dry. Ordered coffee and added Ammaretto for me and Lagavulin for my husband. The waiter tells us that the price has become more expensive.... because the bottles cost 80 euros. It was also his favorite whiskey, said the waiter (we looked it up via Drankdozijn for 65 euros, but ok....) So 12 euros per glass....well small sips because it was a mini layer. A little later, with the second glass, I asked if I could get a little more for that price. His 2nd glass comes with more than double the content. This really can't be right. My husband thought it tasted different... it must have been diluted with something. He couldn't put his finger on it. Didn't drink it either. We felt ripped off. We will definitely never go here again. Too bad that such an action ruined our evening....

Leuk terras met vlotte, ontspannen en alert bediening bediening. Ondanks dat er duidelijk nog (jonge) mensen zonder ervaring rondlopen, loopt het allemaal op rolletjes. Bitterballen zijn een aanrader, evenals de spareribs. Die vielen zo van het bot af. Top. Wel moet er iets gebeuren aan de dessertkaart, dat is een aanfluiting. Het ijs bestaat uit een bakje Ben & Jerry's + een klodder spuitslagroom op een schoteltje. Dat kan je ook bij de supermakrt krijgen.

Neat café where you can relax and have fun

Made a great deal with socialdeal. Very nice and friendly service. Delicious apple pie with whipped cream and a nice cup of coffee. Walk through the center, nice and cozy. Upon your return you will be welcomed with a delicious appetizer and special beer. Recommended, had a fantastic day at De Kansel👍 DO IT!

One of the nicest and coziest cafés in Meppel. The music is always good, and the most important thing is of course the live bands. Recommended!!!

Personally, I think the snack bar attached to the pub is better than the pub, but there is also some live music here every now and then so that is nice.

Had a lovely time on the terrace this afternoon. Very friendly service. Delicious coffee and cappuccino. The kitchen was closed, but we still made a sandwich especially for us. Super awesome! And the price? We will definitely go back!

Great music and the staff is super.

I think the staff themselves are the biggest customers here. were having a nice chat at a table on the terrace and actually had no time for the regular visitor. we ordered a meatball sandwich... also called a salt lick. I had stomach problems for the rest of the day due to the enormous amount of salt contained in it. We also reported this but nothing was done about it. also almost got run over by a garbage truck... all in all... glad we got home safely.

Too few toilets, especially when it is busy, e.g. on DMD days. Dark and unpleasant old cafe, the coffee was reasonable but not special. Minced meat stick 0.50 c more expensive than on the church square, a difference of tens of percent. Unfortunately not our favorite.

Filthy and far too few toilets... resulting in queues out the door. 1 pee box and 1 toilet for the men.

Conviviality is paramount in this beautiful Café, Café De Kansel also has a beautiful, spacious and cozy terrace where you can relax.

The food was excellent as always

We had dinner here tonight, and just like all other times, we were very satisfied with the food, not to mention the staff. Recommended
