Excellent place, great drinks. Delicious beer, give up your left shoe for a glass with a lid. Dear people from the kitchen even helped us with a piece of aluminum foil for the home BBQ.

For a nice relaxed evening and enjoying a drink you have to go to De Klep! De Klep is also highly recommended for a delicious snack!

Café de Klep is my favorite Café in Venlo. I have been coming there for years to meet up with (former) colleagues and friends. We call that just like valves. Their hospitality is top notch and their range is excellent. As far as I'm concerned, they're opening a chain of Kleps all over the world 🤣

N.a.v. a tip during your holiday lunch on the terrace of café de Klep. Very cozy place, well advised and excellent food. This was the reason why we wanted to take home some special beers from "De Klep" later in that holiday to give as a souvenir gift. Again, excellent advice, I used some tasty treats myself and the souvenir beers were neatly packaged and delivered to our table. Three beers, best before 06-24, were found in the caravan. It was 29-6 that day. We didn't want to give this as a gift. I.v.m. After our departure there was no time for an exchange. Called "De Klep" and then emailed the owner in consultation, who agreed to send three new beers to our home address. The owner made us wait a while for a new shipment, but after 3.5 weeks I received a "heavy" box. Three new beers... and some extra special beers as compensation. We had not counted on this. What a surprise and what good SERVICE!!

Super terrace and wonderful atmosphere, lots of choices of different beers. The food there was very disappointing, if I had been told in advance that you sell fried angus burgers and schnitzels then I would have preferred to eat somewhere else. I think €17.80 for a fried Angus burger is really outrageous, for that amount of money you expect a freshly fried burger.

Super place with an awesome atmosphere, great beer and food too. The staff is also very experienced and can offer reccomendations. You can also borrow board games to play here.

Worst place I've been to in a long time. You can tell that everyone there is thinking too much about it. And the food is just as bad everywhere else. We had high expectations because the reviews were so good, but it is and remains Venlo, if you have something of significance in this village, everyone thinks it is fantastic.

Long wait for the food, but definitely worth it. Very tasty food, friendly service, cozy atmosphere. Went back a year later (is gradually becoming a tradition.) Still good food, and a lot faster than last time ;-). Still a great atmosphere and in tip top condition. See you next year!

By far the best beer café in Venlo. With super food and delicious snacks. They also serve a lot of their own brewed beer on tap here. In addition, the Paeterke Tripel is perhaps the tastiest tripel currently on the market! (Really very tasty!)

Nice place to sit outside the direct route of the shops so not a busy street. But people do know where to find the Valve, it is quite well known I think. Nice meal, good service. Some sand toys and cars outside for the children to play with. Atmospheric.

I had heard of this cafe several times, but I went there for the first time yesterday. If you like a cozy and nice cafe, definitely recommended. It is a real beer café where there is knowledge about the beers and their own beers are also brewed. As a snack I loved the Herefords bitterballen.

Had an awful experience at this place, we took the outside counter table since it was full at the external area. After waiting for almost 30 minutes, nobody came in so that we could order a beer. Several waiters passed by and chosen to ignore us. It was so frustrating because a well rated place like this one generates high expectations (we came from Den Bosch to try the Altbier).

Today we had drinks with colleagues in the hatch. We had made a reservation for 5:00 PM and at 7:00 PM we were asked to leave our places. That's the wrong signal for us. Never go to the club for a company drink again. And this will probably apply to several groups within our company.

There is an idyllic beer garden slightly hidden in the backyard of the pedestrian zone. Accessible through a small alley that gives you a quick overview. No wonder you only meet locals there. The selection of beers was huge and the people of Cologne were also able to give us good advice about the beer. The only thing that wasn't convincing was the food we ordered afterwards, the tarte flambée was too dry and the spare ribs were only lukewarm. Finally, a great place for great evenings.

Even though I don't drink alcohol, this is The Place to be for beer lovers. Never seen so many types of beer. The interior looks very warm with all church-related attributes. In addition, it was also nice and warm because of the wood stove. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I noticed that this café was well visited. All tables were occupied by beer-drinking visitors who also had a snack. As a non-alcoholic drinker, I opted for a caffeine-free coffee with coconut milk. This tasted delicious. We also enjoyed some vegetarian snacks. Entrance and toilet are not really wheelchair friendly. Parking is available nearby for a fee. You can pay by card or cash.

A bit hidden, this is our absolute favorite restaurant in Venlo. Above all, the approach over the narrow Ursulastraatje is downright adventurous. You then reach a picturesque place, right next to a church, inside a cozy "nostalgic restaurant", outside a large terrace, which can now be completely covered. Very good selection of beers, now also home-brewed wheat beer (delicious!). Small, slightly overpriced but tasty dishes (satay, fish & chips, pulled pork burger). People like to stay here longer and treat themselves to a Kopje Koffie with apple pie for dessert. “De Klep” is no longer an insider tip.

Very, very pleasant restaurant. It's all in Dutch, but as a tourist you get an even more cultural experience. We liked both the light and dark beer. And the waiter/bartender was very friendly!

What useless staff! This is late at night, not a soul in the street, but before you can enter, placing your bicycle is important as the customer and also in an arrogant tone. I don't have to come here anymore and neither do my customers. There are other cafes in town.

Friendly and hospitable staff, had no problem adjusting the quantity of a dish. I don't eat that much. The price was also adjusted without a problem. The meal salad was delicious!!! (And too much, but my son didn't mind!) Really enjoyed it. Son had chicken satay which he really enjoyed. And delicious fresh brown bread. Terrace is hidden and quiet in the center. Very cozy and nice to sit. Moreover, it is also a great place to stay during Lent. Full program with nice and well-known bands, the terrace is usually full of people celebrating, but it is pleasantly busy, so you are not crushed and you can dance.

Super nice terrace in the middle of Venlo. It takes some searching but it's worth it. Delicious meatball and the garlic-onion aioli was fantastic. Also the tastiest IPA ever drunk from the changing menu. The staff is very quick, really remarkably fast. Young but super friendly. Chairs are comfortable. Highly recommended!!!

Good in itself: nice large terrace, covered when necessary, friendly staff and some know-how (beer), fast service, extensive drinks menu. However, they market themselves as a specialty beer café and I think the range is too small for that. Yes, there is a fairly wide range, but most of them are the common ones. I think the number of changing beers is too small or was not present even though they were on the (untapped) menu. Buuut, the pluses outweigh the minuses...

Nice place for a nice drink, huge selection of special beers. The staff is happy to help you find a good beer if you don't know what you want. You can park your bicycle nearby (note that the parking lot is for staff). You also have various drinks boards here, which are ideal with a good beer. It is a bit remote in the city, but that does not make it any less cozy.
