The vegetarian pasta is so delicious. I regularly order it to eat at home. The staff is great. Friendly and welcoming. They really work hard.

Cozy location and friendly service.

Can be short and powerful. When I entered I was completely ignored. I sat down at a table and the staff that walked by were more interested in the larger groups that came in. After 15 minutes I got up and walked away. While I was doing that someone else started complaining about the fact that his table (he, his wife and 2 children) were not being helped. So apparently this happens more often.

27-6-2025: The first time for us at Café Jansen. We had a delicious meal, but the staff apparently preferred the guests inside. There was a party inside and from that moment on the music went on very loud. We were sitting outside and could barely hear each other. Then it went soft and after 10 minutes it went back to very loud. We asked if this would continue all evening. Answer: "I'm afraid so, if the drink is in the man... " Our answer: "you are staff, you have that in your own hands" But she walked away without answering... Eventually the music went softer, but remained quite loud for us. I don't know if this is always the case with the music, but for us this was the last time. I also pay for the food whether it's someone's birthday or not. I don't ask for the very loud music.

Nice meal. Lots of choice. Dullak sandwich was tasty, hot meat sandwich and a plain pancake. It was all very tasty. Jansen hamburger is also very tasty.

I don't understand how they got 4.5 stars. The food is very average, no care has been given to it. But still charge quite high prices. Example: 25 euros for some soggy pasta with Norwegian shrimps instead of prawns. Add a little green and add the garlic flavor. About the 11 remaining dishes? You can already guess it. Ambience very good, staff also top. But I would do away with the kitchen and associated crew. Not worth repeating in terms of food

Unfortunately it was disgusting, the pancake was very hard and very greasy, the fried sandwich was very hard, you couldn't even eat the bacon, the fries were also not tasty, a lot of money and not tasty.

Salmon was not really warm, spiced meat was not fried and the fries were not half full. lettuce without dressing, so first and last time.

We stopped there for a coffee. The terrace has a non-smoking area, which is great, but you sit behind a wall and that spoils the atmosphere. But I don't want to complain about it because I don't think all terraces are allowed to smoke, it's a start. Everything else okay.

Attractive cafe with friendly prices!

After shopping I had lunch here, it was delicious and really worth the price, I didn't like ham and then they asked what I wanted as a replacement for the ham. Highly recommended, they will definitely see me here again. The staff is very friendly.

It took a while before we were in the picture, but after that everything went fine and we had a delicious hot meat sandwich.

Too bad, after one glass of wine on the terrace, we left disappointed on May 5. Jansen, an eatery on Simonsplein, is well known. We have also had several good experiences. Had a glass of wine on the terrace on May 5 this year. Disappointingly, the contents of the glasses were substandard. When asked, the person serving said that it was the manager's instruction to serve minimal glasses. Mi. a wrong way of increasing turnover. If the glasses had been properly filled, we would have ordered more. Now we have left it at one. We won't be back for a while. Too bad, café Jansen.

Had a delicious meal again and was a bit lucky. I didn't have any special music with fireworks for dessert due to a birthday, which they normally do very nicely if you let us know. I had deliberately not told you that when making your reservation.

Good for a quick bite. Could use some painting inside. Ordered BL sandwich, but it was tastier last time.....

Food and service good. It was also nice that they thought along with us for a busy afternoon and that we could still eat without a reservation. The biggest objection to why I wouldn't eat there anymore is that the smoke smell from the smoking room, which you also walk through to enter, comes in and makes the food less enjoyable.

Have lunch here regularly. Nice service and atmosphere. Recommended!

Great, we were told that something had gone wrong with our order. We didn't even realize that. The food was on the table within 10 minutes and we were given 2 glasses of wine on the house because we had to wait so long.

Excellent place to stay in any form.

Very expensive and the only vegetable is a small bowl of raw vegetables for 2 people.

I only went there for lunch. That's fine. Friendly service.

Had dinner for 9 people delivered on December 16th. Excellent, especially the pork tenderloin in mushroom sauce was in great demand. Delivered on time and everything was picked up the next day. Very satisfied, highly recommended!

Amazing place I have asked for a dish from the photo section of the Google maps and they made it even if it was almost 4 years ago and was not in the list of the current menu. Very nice atmosphere and service as well!

Dit café kwam ik 20 jaar geleden ook al, toen ik nog ging stappen met mijn vrienden en ik ben er vandaag voor het eerst weer geweest. Er is gelukkig nog helemaal niets veranderd. Dezelfde service en kwaliteit... Zelfs het interieur is nog niet veranderd, wat een goed ding is... Nog steeds heel tevreden...

Al decennia een gemoedelijke plaats voor een smaakvolle lunch. Probeer vooral ook eens een Spek/kaas pannenkoek; Daar kan menig pannenkoekenrestaurant niet tegenop.

Heerlijk gegeten en gezellig met m'n meisje gekeuveld. Nog steeds een fijne sfeer daar.

Lekkere lunch gehad vandaag. Uitsmijter op gebakken piepers was een verrassing. Ook de eigengemaakte kroketten en dat dochterlief frikadellen op brood kon krijgen was top. Aanrader maar dat weten er meer gezien de drukte.

Het eten is geweldig!!! Maar de bediening is nog beter !!!! Echt een aanrader 😍

Al jaren een gezellig eetcafé met fijn terras. Vriendelijke en vlotte bediening. En een lekkere hap en drankje zijn er prima en smakelijk.

Prima gegeten. Goede service. We stonken wel erg naar frituurlucht.

Gezellige inrichting. Vriendelijke medewerkers en uitsmijter met rode Italiaanse wijn was een prima combi😉vandaag weer even gezeten met een zakenrelatie en gekozen voor Jansens lunch.
