Café Knarie in Centrum

I visit the bar every day when I'm in Groningen...relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff...no service on the terrace...you have to get your beer yourself, and it's quite tricky climbing up and down the stone stairs to the pub. But if you like an alternative atmosphere and are willing to compromise on the bathroom facilities, this is the place to be.

The jam session on Wednesdays from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. is highly recommended, good musicians who provide a fantastic basis for letting loose, even for less experienced stage animals. In terms of music style, there is a lot to discuss and even for a non-musician it is certainly worth it to listen all evening because of the variety, the love put into it and the quality of the music.

The staff was very friendly! The music was not my taste but it is not so important. 4:80 euros for Grolsch 45 cl is good price! Overall cozy atmosphere.

Worked there myself. Nice place with good staff. Of course I'm a bit biased. But it has hardly changed in 20 years. There are still novice artists who are allowed to keep their art there temporarily and possibly sell it. Always a good atmosphere at the weekend. Nice large terrace. BEWARE OF THE STAIRS WHEN YOU GO DOWN OR UP. And don't sit on the stairs that serve as the front door of the student house. You can also fall from that Very good and correct staff. You don't always see that in things like that. And it was nice and clean except for some shards that my girlfriend dropped. Great tent for youth and people up to 35 years old. Because even though I worked there, I was left out. Too much age difference. But on the other hand I was chilling with the bartender and he of course cooperated. That is his job after all. All in all I had a very nice evening. So for the youth and up to about 35 fantastic place to start your evening. Or to end, of course. Have fun

Well, I worked here a long time ago. Is a nice meeting place for almost everyone. Not really suitable for children, but there will probably be a few parents who think differently. But it remains a nice place to take a break or puff on a nice cigarette. Of course, you have to bring a beer or something else and enjoy yourself. Definitely worth checking out especially if you're from out of town. Have fun 😎. Well a quick update. Was here again for the first time since I worked there in 2000😅. So that was 24 years ago. The atmosphere is still great. They still work with budding artists who can exhibit their art there. Smoking is no longer possible. But that makes the case work out well. Even though the audience was 30 years younger, I was admitted without any problems and had a wonderful evening. So you like a bit of alternative and open people. Then this is still a very nice thing. So have fun again 🤪.

They don't have real food here. Always a nice place to have a drink and chill with friends.

Great live music sessions on Saturday nights. Awesome atmosphere, and as a bonus, there is quite nice smoker-friendly terrace with heating lamps.

Geweldige plek, gezellige gasten, goed barpersoneel, heerlijk interieur en prima prijzen. Echte aanrader!

Bij releas party van nieuwe single fred goverde geweest goeie gezelige tent met lekker bier.

Unieke tent. Drank voor leuke prijzen en fan van de band Gargalesis. Altijd mooi op de woensdag en die guy met dat leren jack is echt goeee.

Bijzonder hippie café dat open is tot de vroege uurtjes. Redelijk gezellig maar is wel een bepaald "slag" volk (lees alternatief) dat hier vertoefd. In de zomer een prima zomerterras

Gutes Bar mit sehr interessanten Deko Galaxien , auch draußen sind sitzmöglichkeiten vorhanden, hat sehr spaß gemacht.

Super vriendelijk personeel. Goede hoeveelheid versnaperingen na keuze. Mogen wel wat meer terras ruimte krijgen

Wat een leuk café! Als ex-stadjer nog nooit geweest, maar ik kom hier zeker terug. Een fijne plek met geweldige mensen achter de bar. Gezellig ingericht, met kunst aan de muur en een ruim assortiment aan drank. Maar dat laatste doet er natuurlijk niet toe. Het mooiste vond ik trouwens de diversiteit aan bezoekers. De meest uiteenlopende types zijn verenigd in dit café: dan weet je écht een bijzondere plek te maken.

Een over enthousiaste barkeeper ziet flesjes Palmbier als speciaal bier aan met wel hele speciale prijzen. Voor de rest een prima tent voor hen in hogere sferen 🤣🤣

Als je goedkoop wilt bier drinken in Groningen. 3,50 beugel grolsch. Super zeg ik, goedkoper vind je niet in Groningen.

Ja wat kan ik zeggen. Hier kan dus absoluut niets mis gaan. Beugeltjes van Grolsch en iets wat lijkt op zelfgestooke dropshot. Keurige tent.

Ondanks dat ik heel vaak op mijn smoel ga als ik naar buiten wil, is het best een coole tent
