Stopped here for lunch and found a good amicable relaxing place Ordered winter special of pea soup with smoked sausage- very tasty and filling, husband had noon classic mix not quite as tasty as mine but good value

Cozy place, right in the center. Not even very expensive for such a place. It's nice that there are heaters.

We stopped here unexpectedly for a quick drink and ended up staying for a few hours. The drinks were great, the food was great, and our server Paul was the best! He was so great with our little girls and made our day extra special :)

Great menu and food, quick service and nice vibe to the place. Our waiter Paul was lovely and suggested a few great spots in Amsterdam that we checked out, really grateful.

The restaurant is very well located and has a pleasant atmosphere. However, we received very little on our plates for the high price. A burger at €18.50 without fries is quite light for lunch 🫤. On the other hand, the fish and chips was decent.

Seafood with a spicy sauce and fries was my choice. I enjoyed it.

I was hungry and wanted a cream croquette, so I searched on Google Maps and found this place. The photo shows the 12-course classic lunch set (15€). It consists of two sandwiches, tomato soup, Holtkamp veal croquette, and ham. Everything was delicious, especially the tomato soup, ham, and bread. The staff were all very friendly. It seems to be a popular restaurant, as it was very busy even before lunchtime.

A quaint restauraunt with a variety of European foods. I had the dutch steak and it was tasty.

I went with three other people, the service was great, the food was good, and the interior is very quiet, perfect for conversation. There was no wait because the table was reserved on the café's website.

The food was spectacular! And the best part was the Bitterballen that the waiter Guillermo recommended. The service was excellent!

I recommend eating the Biterballen (traditional Dutch croquettes) with a beer on the sidewalk. Guillermo is a genius and a sweetheart. He took excellent care of us! A must-see in Amsterdam.

Well, if you ask me, you can't find better bitterballen in the area. Absolutely fantastic 🍻

The flat white we had was really good. The service leaves much to be desired though. For example after taking the coffee order the waiter quickly left yet we wanted to order water with our coffees too. He just darted away. Otherwise great place.

We go to this cafe every time we are in Amsterdam. People have good service, they have a lot in the menu. Prices are good. You have wifi and clean bathrooms. FYI,I think food stops being served at 4 pm and after that is only drinks.

One of the best places to warm us up in Amsterdam during winter is Café Luxembourg. Their ginger-orange tea, in particular, is a true winter classic, both fragrant and warm. Its location, close to the canals and nestled in the city's historic atmosphere, makes it ideal for a warm break.

Nice sitting in a nice place in Amsterdam. Outside on the terrace is the full menu. For lunch you can't choose everything from this menu. Which is a shame, because this is a bit misleading. For the rest it is value for money.

Caught up with colleagues who had already parked at the restaurant... It was ok, but nothing special. Remember going there maybe 8 or 9 years ago, and it was definitely better back then... It's super expensive for the quality...

Good location. Very underwhelming food, service ok overall. Dirty dishes and glasses. Can grab some canned drinks and a piece of pie, but don’t come here to eat.

A nice location with average food and service. Cafe Luxembourg is situated near a small square, a crossroads of trams, bikers and walkers, so it’s a nice place to relax and people watch. I loved the Tripel Karmaliet beer which was very good, the food overall was average. We had to wait a long time for our bill and then chase someone one down to pay and leave.

Late lunch Friday. Had coffee and a sandwich. Paid €13 for a sandwich with tuna melt, although it was good. About 15-25 years ago my friend & I came here quite often. After that not so much, last year again every now and then. Unfortunately it is rarely really clean. To read the newspaper I always moved the menu on the table. Almost didn't work: stuck... Wash basins (ladies') toilet: soaking wet and didn't look clean. Overflowing paper bin. It used to be extremely dusty in the conservatory. Too bad. Basically a nice place.

Spacious space with a terrace. Attentive service and fast food. The Croque Madame is superb. The carpaccio sandwich is a bit bland, lacking much flavor.

2025/5 They have terrace seating and the interior is nice. They serve coffee first. I tried the croquettes. Melted cheese and ham sandwiched between thick slices of bread. I don't think they're that expensive. They're open from early morning until late at night.

Mussels were terrific. Service was so-so; I think we had an inexperienced server who seated us and then forgot we were there. But others pitched in and took care of us. Great setting for people watching!

Beautiful cafe to eat on the terrace. We had some croque-madame that were delicious and some bitterballen. You better NOT ask for a bottle of water because it will be very expensive (we learned late that they serve tap water for free...).

There were 2 people working the service. They were friendly, courteous and worked quickly. But the food is disappointing. Schnitzel wasn't crispy, it was like boiled. The fries were cold. Burger bun was stale. The wine was nice. There was no soap in the toilet and it was messy. Expensive for these meals.🤑

Didn't eat well. I ordered a chicken sandwich with avocado spread. The chicken was undercooked and it didn't taste like anything. Neatly indicated at the service, but you still have to pay. The lady at the table next to me had the same problem with her sandwich. I'll never come here again.

It’s ok but wouldn’t come back. We were very clear about our order and one of the meals got left off. A struggle to get the correct cutlery and serviettes. Food was ok but service really let the place down.

Café Luxembourg has an extensive menu and shouldn't be missed on your next trip to Amsterdam. You can enjoy the steak, which I recommend, or just order some snacks and enjoy the atmosphere in a unique and historic café.

A nice authentic place for a cup of coffee or lunch. There are many seats and you will be served quickly. However, the food is on the pricey side for what you get, but that's every café in the center of Amsterdam.

Outdated interior but good coffee

Didn't get around to eating or drinking, arrived soaking wet on January 1, ordered with 7 people, after waiting 45 minutes and asking twice, we left again...

Really nice cafe. Really very nice service. Upon arrival we were given a nice table in the back and were not forgotten. Staff is extremely attentive and observant. Moreover, they all spoke Dutch instead of many other places in the city center where only English is spoken. The café is also attractive, neat and spacious.

I often come to have lunch at Luxembourg with my now 8 year old son. We started this when he was about 4 years old. We always order the croque Madame and after all these years - we still love it! The staff is very friendly and great!

Avoid!! After waiting 20 minutes at the bar until a table becomes available, We waited at the table for over an hour but no one came to take our order. We were with a little boy 3 years older… So we left because we were hungry, no one cared that we were leaving To end up at Mc dos... very unfortunate

It's easy to mistake the entrance to this store. lol When you look at the store from the front, it feels like it's on the right, but it's actually on the left! There is an entrance to. December 25, 2024 Terrace seating. The waiter was very nice and watched the progress of the food as he took my order, so I was able to eat my food in a timely manner. I was very happy with that consideration. The terrace seats were surrounded by glass walls to protect us from the cold. However, it was a little small, and sometimes the seat next to me ended up touching my chair. It was Christmas season, and there was a small Christmas tree across the street. The scenery of the tram passing through there was very nice.

Visited during lunch to eat croquet. I don't like beer, but I ordered it anyway. This is easy to drink. For the first time, there was only one long croquette on the lunch menu, so much so that I had to refill it. So I ordered more items individually. It was delicious. I want to go eat there again.

It all started with a sticky menu. Then we were served waaaaaay to warm red wine bottle. But you just wait until our steak arrived. It was still alive and we sent it back to the kitchen. In the end it tasted like a bottom of a shoe but overall fun times and something to talk about 😊

Went here based on numerous reviews. Unfortunately most of the food was finished ( it stops at 4.00) but we enjoyed the limited selection that was still available. Buzzy atmosphere and good service

Small, fairly varied menu. Soups, salads, burgers, mussels, omelettes, toasts, cheese or shrimp croquettes, steak, baked camembert, artichokes, fries. Very friendly server. The room inside is a little dark for my taste but the chairs and benches are super comfortable.

Great service and food. My wife had a very nicely cooked Steak and I had a Burger. Highly recommended
