I usually enjoy going to Cradam. The atmosphere is pleasant, and most of the staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, I've had a less than pleasant experience during my last two visits, both times with the same employee (manager, perhaps) on the floor. I had placed an order with a colleague and wanted to ask her a quick question for clarification. However, her response came across as very rude when she didn't immediately understand my question. Later, there was some confusion about a cappuccino I ordered, and she responded with a snappy response. That felt unfriendly and unwelcoming. Other colleagues also occasionally made small mistakes with orders, but they resolved these very kindly and professionally. I hope attention is paid to the way guests are treated, because I'd love to return, but only in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

I've been coming here since it opened

Charming place housed in an old factory with memorabilia throughout referencing its history. The food is decent and the place is great for lunch. The staff is friendly but at times somewhat at capacity making it challenging to get their attention at times.

An absolutely fabulous and unique restaurant. The setting is simply incredible and the food is very good. The service is also super friendly.

A very nice atmosphere in this former pumping station from 1900. The tuna baguette with anchovies and tomato was sadly thrown together by depositing the fish straight from the can onto the sandwich.

Every year we return to Amsterdam for Christmas and dine with family at Cradam, as usual; but honestly, this was the last time. In recent years, the quality of the food has really declined and the prices have risen. The service in Paris is even friendlier than here, rushed, without a smile, and absolutely NOT customer-focused, except for a few. The large Christmas tree in this iconic building is fantastic, and that's why we return every year. Every year we complain about how it's a shame that such a cafe-restaurant deteriorates into subpar food and service—a real shame! This year, we've decided to break our tradition and not return here next year.

We were sitting at a table by the wall, and it was absolutely disgusting. The wall next to us was filthy, covered in old food stains, like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. Then they brought the dessert on a plate with someone else’s fingerprints all over it. Completely gross.

Nice place with good food and a nice atmosphere

Duck was just raw in the middle. Which theoretically isn’t a problem but it was also crazy chewy. Not the right way to cook duck. Burrata salad was just a huge pile of arugula as well, not interesting. Atmosphere and location was otherwise good.

Went here for dinner with a large group on November 24th. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was cozy, but the food was dismal. I also got serious food poisoning, which left me spending the whole night near the toilet. I suspect the ribeye wasn't good (maybe that's why it was so covered in sauce?) or the cream on the cobbler. So, I won't be back.

Amazing, amazing, absolutely fantastic. Industrial style in a cozy atmosphere and the best food. Prices are reasonable, and the service is top-notch. We first visited the Banksy Museum and then came here for lunch. The trip from the city center is well worth it. You can easily zip up here in just a few stops on tram line 5 and enjoy the view of the city from the window. You pay for public transport tickets when you board by holding your credit card to the reader and confirm your journey when you get off. Ultimately convenient and super easy. For salmon, steak, drinks, and an appetizer, the two of us paid under €70. The service and ambiance are excellent. We'll definitely be back!

It always depends on what you're looking for. I find the decor very atypical and boring.

Nice location and very large restaurant, but the service was a bit lacking. We were there during ADE weekend, so I think that had something to do with it. The service was a bit chaotic, though... Wrong dishes, mayonnaise dropped, and a very long wait for drinks. The food was a bit plain, but it tasted great and was delicious. For such a large space, I thought the acoustics were fantastic; it was easy to talk and hear each other.

It's cozy and has a good atmosphere. You do have to sing along often...

The tagline is a "refined venue" but this is more like a local neighborhood restaurant. It's fine, but not worth the drive if you are staying downtown. The steak was tough and of poor quality, and I'm pretty sure my wife (who has a gluten allergy) was glutened here despite a warning to the staff.

I had some good tap bock beers, salmon and potatoes. Salmon was good, nicely decorated with some veggies. Price 35 euros.

A very nice restaurant with an incredibly atmospheric interior. Suitable for lunch with friends or dinner as a couple. A varied menu with reasonable prices. the dishes are quite mediocre. But the atmosphere of the restaurant is decisive.

Wow- we can’t wait to come back. We attended lunch after Bill’s Bike tour for our 15th wedding anniversary and had fabulous food and service! Thank you for making our anniversary special!

The Café Restaurant Amsterdam impresses at first glance with its impressive location and convivial atmosphere. However, you should be aware that it's really, really loud – only partially suitable for a relaxed conversation. The service is excellent: attentive, friendly, and fast, which is definitely a positive. The food is also (partially) convincing: the burrata salad was fresh, delicious, and at €11.25, absolutely fine by Amsterdam standards. Unfortunately, the vegetarian burger was a real disappointment: a tiny, unspectacular patty in a dry bun – the first attempt was even inedible because the bun was hard. The second attempt was only marginally better. For €18 including a mini portion of fries, this is simply overpriced and unacceptable. In conclusion: Great ambiance, great service, and good starters – but the main course (at least the vegetarian one) was definitely not up to the standard you would expect for this price.

The waiters were very polite and warm. Our orders were served very quickly. The waiter's wine recommendation was spot on. We ordered steak, which was delicious. The high ceiling, reminiscent of a train station, creates a very spacious atmosphere. The clientele was also quite distinguished.

Highly recommend because you will feel the energy & passion from all waitress. I learn that most of they are student. They walk fast and also keep smile, you will feel they like to move fast and ensure you are happy here. Big hall they have and also got great outdoor table. Food is good and can’t say excellent but over average Price is fair and highly recommend

Shrimp you have to peel yourself, with the intestinal tract still inside. Incredibly dirty hands afterward. A salad consisting of just lettuce with some sauce. Hmm, the food could be better. The location is perfect.

Restaurant for the local people. I felt like the only tourist from other part of the Europe, which was good. Food was OK, nothing excellent. You can seat outside close to the river, where is nice atmosphere. Not ideal for the waiters who has to lean over to serve you. Be polite and pass your plate or take plate from them before they break their backs. Food in Amsterdam isn't great in general, so here you can find few nice bites.

Excellent all around...delicious coffee...and the crème brûlée was unsurpassable...just like my grandmother used to make it.

Last Friday, my partner and I went to Cradam for dinner; we wanted to try something special. We chose the menu with several small dishes, and what immediately struck us was how well-balanced the flavors were. You could really taste the spices, but it never became too intense or spicy. At some restaurants, it's immediately overpowering, but not here; everything remained soft and refined. The staff came by friendly to ask if everything was to our liking. The main course might have taken a little longer, but thanks to the atmosphere and pleasant music, that didn't matter. Highly recommended.

One of those restaurants I keep coming back to. The menu is always the same, but varied, and changes with the seasons. A few Dutch dishes are also a nice touch. Organic, focused on quality. Perfect for smaller groups. Highly recommended.

The most horrible place we've ever been to. The steak was raw, the French fries were overcooked, they brought the wrong iced tea that we asked for, in a word - horrible. I don't understand how this can be called a restaurant?!

When the staff comes to the table and asks if everything is okay, that place becomes a complete success for me. The restrooms are clean, the food is delicious. The place is spacious, with seating both inside and outside. We arrived around 6:00 PM, didn't have a reservation, but there was still room. It was a Saturday.

Simple but always fresh and delicious food. (Could be a bit more exciting here and there, in my opinion), but that's not essential. Every time I've been there over the past 15-20 years, the service has been excellent, the seating is wonderful in the beautiful space, both indoors and outdoors, and the price-quality ratio is excellent. The atmosphere and energy are always vibrant and positive without being pushy. Plenty of vegetarian options and a great location for all occasions: solo, catching up with someone, a date, family, or dinner with friends. It's also great that all ages and styles visit the restaurant. A good selection of wines: in short, a perfect spot!

The building is cool and the atmosphere is very shabby chic - it reminded me of a cafeteria or mess hall from another time. Our waiter left after seating us, and after about 30 min of waiting and trying to flag waitstaff, I got up from our table and approached another server to take our order. Our food order was not placed correctly, and only two of the hour of us received our meals. The food was okay, but not great.

We waited 20 minutes just for someone to take our order, though the food arrived quickly once placed. Unfortunately, the dishes were quite basic and didn’t feel restaurant-quality. My pesto pasta wasn’t mixed with the sauce and was under-salted. Overall, a disappointing experience.

An old pump house converted into a bistro, with a unique ambiance, located in the Staatsliedenbuurt neighborhood. A typical place where Gen Z enjoys oysters with their parents. But what a menu! Incredibly reasonably priced classic dishes with matching wines, with nothing to criticize, only praise. There is criticism of the service. There's no customer focus. The young staff is in a kind of "Oh my God, how am I going to survive this" mode. Of course, the well-priced food has to be paid for somehow, but when the experienced staff are having a beer at the bar while the younger generation desperately tries to connect the menu, the customer, and the ordering app, there are low-hanging possibilities.

Ooooh. The wine and truffles were fine, but that's about it. Everything was overcooked and dry. One prawn was undercooked, the ribeye was way too fatty, the sauces weren't as they should be, etc. But the worst part: the waiter. "Hello" to greet your guests, a scruffy appearance, but above all, a terrible smell of sweat. How so? And how can a manager not notice that? So, a one-time visit.

If you have a reservation and have to wait for 45 minutes for your table, the evening doesn't get off to a good start. Then, five people squeeze into a table that's too small. That table is close to the neighbors, but the waitstaff has to squeeze in between them. The result: they constantly bump into you. Our guest, upside down, had the same thing happen. Constantly bumping into the back of their chair. And why are the staff running? Why are they so rushed? You want to order drinks, and as soon as you've mentioned one, they run off before you can place the rest of your order. And even if you've managed to order everything, they've forgotten one. When the main course arrived, the table was too small, which we knew beforehand. We moved a bit apart because otherwise we couldn't properly cut the fish or meat. This resulted in the waitstaff, who kept flying, bumping into you again. The sea bass was good, but it was on a round plate that was too small to fit. If you're offering this beautiful fish, make sure you have the right tableware. The salmon steak with skin was more bone than steak. The accompanying fries were cold and limp. Those containers had been sitting there for a while before the main course was served. Not once was anyone asked if everything was to your liking, or when clearing the table, whether everything tasted good. The restaurant was overcrowded. Don't take reservations if you're out of space. Don't seat five people at a garbled table. Especially not after they had to wait 45 minutes for their reserved table. Make sure that initial annoyance is taken care of.

I go here quite often and most times it is a great restaurant to go to, we had a gluten-free person at our table who ordered a Caesar salad without croutons because of the allergy, we had to send the dish back 3 times because there were still croutons in the dish. The servers were very nice and understanding about it, but this was a bummer

Eggplant filled with eggplant and something? mushroom cream?? Tasteless and dry truffle pasta. Steak tartare poorly executed. Lettuce with rock-hard croutons, no dressing. And so on. Too bad. Had an amazing experience here. The menu is enormous with a huge variety. The service was great and suprisingly fast for how busy it was, also really friendly staff. The food tasted amazing, I ordered the Black Angus steak with pepper sauce, and it was sooo juicy. Also had a few appetisers, such as the burrata salad and artichoke. As dessert a pretty good creme brulee. The ambiance is really there and just such a beautiful building. Definitely recommend and I'll surely come back.

Tonight I had a delicious meal for the 2nd time at Cradam with my parents and sister. It was super cozy and mega tasty. Compliments to the kitchen team and the service did an excellent job too! Me, my parents and my sister enjoyed it.

We visited Café Restaurant Amsterdam with a group of 12 people. Unfortunately, the hospitality was disappointing from the moment we entered. There was no one to be seen upon arrival, and only after a few minutes did someone come towards the entrance. Fortunately, the table was already set up with some bread and Dutch menus. After 15 minutes, no one had offered us anything to drink. When the service finally came by, I asked for an English menu myself (since my company spoke English). This was not proactively considered, which was a shame. Moreover, the bread on the table was scarce - not enough for everyone - so we had to break small pieces with our hands. That did not feel particularly hygienic. Fortunately, my starter, the carpaccio, was tasty. Afterwards, several people wanted to order extra drinks, but the service was difficult to find and it all took a very long time. This while it was a normal Wednesday evening and we had made a reservation well in advance. My main course - the sole - was unfortunately a disappointment. The fish was not fresh and had a bitter, pungent fishy taste. After one piece I left the rest, something I normally never do because I don't like to waste food. The fries were fine, but even asking for some simple mayonnaise seemed like a big task. In short: the quality of the food was below average, the service disinterested and slow. There are plenty of better places in Amsterdam where you feel welcome as a guest and can simply eat well. Unfortunately, I don't recommend it.

Location! Location! Location! Nice for a drink and some company. But… Haven’t eaten so badly in years. Bebidas - Tenían la gama completa de cervezas artesanales a un precio razonable - todo bien. El personal - El personal es agradable, joven y limpio, pero pero pero, su sistema es un completo caos! - no esperes obtener tu primera opción orden primera vez! Hay algún problema entre la toma electrónica de su pedido, y la entrega de ese pedido a SU mesa. Todos hemos experimentado conseguir el orden equivocado una vez. Sonríes y le dices al camarero que no es para ti que se ven un poco avergonzados y entregados a la mesa correcta y volver con tu pedido más tarde. Sucede una vez cada 15 visitas a restaurantes. ¡Aquí nos pasó tres veces en una noche! - Ahora no importa, pero si eres el estrés, tipo TOC, puedo imaginar que esto sea un gran final. Y tuvimos que pedir agua del grifo tres veces para finalmente conseguir una garrafa. Chaos ; ) . Por tres entrantes, tres filetes, 1 postre compartido y tres cervezas, pagamos 130€, perfectamente aceptables.

There is a large terrace with lots of greenery and water next to the terrace. The atmosphere is quiet. Near the café is an area with lots of nature where you can walk.

The food is absolutely underwhelming. Don’t ever order the asparagus, it’s really bad. Nothing feels special or particularly good unfortunately. Just go somewhere else.

Last weekend I went to the aquarium with my sister and her children for an afternoon. What surprised me positively: the toilets were spotless and even smelled fresh. That is not the case everywhere, certainly not in busy places. Here it was just neat, with enough paper and soap. Little things that make such an outing just a little bit nicer.

I honestly don't know how to start here. When I arrive around 5 pm today it is quiet, no one at the reception desk (I'll come back to that), so after a few minutes I decide to walk to the terrace (where according to the site you can't make a reservation) and sit down to read while waiting for my pleasant company. The staff on the terrace looks at me and doesn't ask me anything. Now I certainly like to sit down quietly, but an hour and 5 chapters later, no one has spoken to me, asked me anything or told me to report. It is now 6:05 pm, my company arrives and we decide to speak to someone (you know what you secretly find annoying as a staff member). We report that we have a reservation and are given a lecture about the fact that we really have to report to the reception desk (there it is again) and that it is now going well at the last minute, because we "almost had a red flag". After a drink we have to ask someone again that we want to eat (that is what we had made a reservation for) and then we finally get a menu dumped under a pot of stones. We order something and ask if we can also take the table next to us instead of the 3 of us at a table for 2. Ironically enough we are told that they "will not see any of that" and that is correct. The food is ordered and served fairly quickly. I order a special tartare and get 2 ounces of hopefully freshly turned meat on my plate with all the stuff to make it yourself on a very small plate. Nice gimmick, not really how it works and extremely inconvenient to have to mix raw egg yolk, mustard etc. on your plate yourself. Visually a bit of a battlefield, so to speak. Fortunately they did not have to fry the food of my company (stuffed aubergine) themselves and it was tasty. The fries that were served with it were not very inspired. All in all, it was okay. In the meantime, we were not asked if things were to our liking and 15 minutes after we had finished eating, the food was cleared and the dessert menu was presented, the tea and apple pie were fortunately warm and tasty, the rest was also okay. Maybe today was not a good day. The terrace is really great and nice to stay. Too bad they do not want to make money from you by also providing service. The service you did receive was very friendly, but this could really be better.

Frituur duurde lang, dus zalm besteld. We hadden nog een lange treinreis te gaan. Allerlei frituur kwam voorbij, geen zalm. (Briefje keuken kwijtgeraakt) We moesten weg en zouden korting van onze drankjes krijgen. Maar de korting is extra op de rekening gezet. Dus teveel betaald. Zeer slechte ervaring.
