Café 't Diekje in Wijk 00 Bolsward

Respect for the bar owner. Already of age. Knows how to create a good atmosphere. Interested, friendly and cosy. Had a great evening. Will definitely come again.

My old favorite pub from back in the day. Nice, intimate atmosphere.

I was a regular at this pub in the late 70s and 80s. Had a great time there. My first introduction to blues music was there. Ruud always had time for a personal conversation, you could laugh, discuss, talk endlessly about music, and came up with a “statement of the year” competition. Often stick around after closing time and help with cleaning. And when everything was clean, we could sit back and relax with a drink and Klaverjacks or “Mexicantje”, a dice game for which I no longer remember the rules. And when it got light, we went home again. And of course the three-cushion billiards competition. I think I could have bought a nice mid-range car for the money I spent there for 15 or 16 years. But I wouldn't have missed it for anything.

We had a lovely evening. A lovely, traditional Dutch café where you're made to feel welcome. We'll definitely be back.

Great that Ruud opened the Diekje this afternoon for the reunion of the 1997 graduating class of Titus Brandsma College. Been present for many (between) hours.

This is Bolsward, one of the Frisian Eleven Cities Tour cities with its beautiful facades and canal that runs through the city, many catering establishments and a beautiful characteristic blues cafe.

Hier kwamen we vroeger tijdens ieder tussenuur en in het weekend. Leuke herinneringen aan. Ruurd heeft altijd een praatje klaar en kent iedereen nog. Zin in een biertje dan ga je naar het Diekje!
