The schnitzel is tasty (though slightly overcooked) and the fries were really overcooked and didn't taste very good. In that respect, it has unfortunately gone downhill since the takeover. The staff is still very friendly, though! Because of the schnitzel, I would still recommend Houtkamp, along with the friendly staff and good prices.

Lovely people and super-fast service. It's also super beautiful inside, completely in 50s style. Their ice cream scoop is definitely worth the 5 stars.

Potgieterstraat 11The food used to be good here, but not for the past few years. By 7:30 they are already done cleaning; everything inside is wet and slippery (it was the same yesterday), even though they close at 9:00 PM. Yesterday I bought fries special and a hamburger. There was hardly any sauce on the fries and the hamburger was cold. Today I bought a meatball with peanut sauce as a test; both were cold too. The staff makes fun of you when they are together in the back; you can just hear it. For me, this was the last time I have been there.

Wijnbergseweg 86You can't buy soft serve ice cream here in the evening; the machine is supposedly "broken," while in reality, they don't feel like cleaning it afterwards. The fries, however, are good and reasonably priced.
