Hogweed fried way too long, making it completely hard and the onion in between turning black. Fries limp because of sauce over the fries instead of neatly in a container next to it.

They have the best schnitzel ever, you can't really prepare it any better. The nasi is also great, as are the satay skewers. There should be a schnitzel menu with nasi and satay sauce 👍 The portions are large and the price is very good. The staff is very friendly and speaks great German and English. After we happened to be here on the first day, we ate here every day during our vacation. If we drive past the area again at some point, I would take a small detour to visit this shop.

I'm from Almelo, getting the salads for Christmas, really delicious and of course the noodles, kidney rolls, etc., really great.

A good cafeteria where quality still prevails. A number of snacks are still made traditionally and the salads are also made 'in house'. These are things you don't often find in cafeterias anymore. Even though the interior looks dated, the quality is still good! *2024* The place has had a major makeover and looks good!

Nice and smooth service... Delicious food and decent portions at a reasonable price.... The only downside that in principle the manager cannot do anything about is that there were people smoking on the terrace while people were eating, which was not exactly tasty.

It is one of those few places that remind of years-gone-by. This is how these places were back in the 80's early 90's before all the horrendous commercialized chains took over. A family run business, with good quality food and home made cooking for an honest price. The Nasi-Goreng Speciaal is out of this world and the meatballs are pure Michelin material).

An ordinary Dutch dish. There seems to be a large selection, but everything is deep fried. And this is not the best option for nutrition. And yes, it’s not expensive for Holland, but that’s the only advantage. The complete absence of vegetables is depressing, but eating French fries and deep-fried sausage is still a pleasure. The interior is very tired, there is no hood. And in the hall there is an indescribable “aroma” of deep-frying and not very fresh oil. Overall the food is clean. But the atmosphere itself... the tables are greasy. I wouldn't go there a second time. And I won’t go... and add vegetables to the menu!!! Tomatoes, cucumbers, salad without them, your food won’t work. This is the review.

Enjoyed a fries war and a goulash croquette sandwich on the terrace. In some parts there is a fries war with curry, mayo and sataysas with onion, like here. I am used to eating this without curry. Nevertheless, it was delicious! The goulash croquette was, if I'm not mistaken, from Ad van Geloven and they are the tastiest in my humble opinion. Compliments to the friendly service!

I can tell you that more than 30 years ago, on April 22, I came here to celebrate my comrade Lem's birthday, together with Juppe, through a French fries war. And that is what De Ridder was known for at the time, the fries war, with curry, with mayo, with peanut sauce and with onions. Not that cowardly thing, but just a good, solid war. Together with a good milkshake, it was a treat to eat at De Ridder. I can't wait to go back after all these years.

Friendly owner and an authentic shop. Your first impression is that it is not the most modern snack bar (but the equipment is). But that is precisely what makes it unique. The owner likes to talk about their history, which goes back a long way. A large number of products are made by hand, which you don't see much anymore. For example, the schnitzels and egg balls (very tasty). We arrived just before closing time and we were received very openly. You don't see that often either. 5 stars!
