Yesterday, we placed an order via Thuisbezorgd at Franklins in Spakenburg: 2 smash burger menus and a cheese soufflé. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the quality of the food. Both the burgers and the fries had a strong fishy smell, and the fries tasted like fish too. As a result, we did not eat the fries. This gives the impression that the fries may have been fried in oil used to prepare fish products. The burger buns were clearly burnt and tasted burnt as well. Additionally, the cheese soufflé was completely flat and virtually empty inside, as if it had been fried for far too long. There were also a few strange, dark-looking fries mixed in with the other fries. Finally, it took about 1.5 hours for the order to be delivered, which was considerably longer than expected.

Ordered food from Franklins tonight. I can understand it taking an hour to deliver on King's Day, but the fact that I subsequently received a burnt bun with a chicken burger and coleslaw soaked in black sauce, and that it turned out to be a big soggy mess with absolutely nothing crispy about it, is really incredibly disappointing.

Another delicious meal from Franklin's! Great offer this month: buy one, get one, and mini snacks are 40% off. We had: 2x loaded pulled chicken (fries with chicken) 1x small portion of fries 1x 6 bitterballen (meatballs) 1x 6 cheese sticks 1x 6 chicken nuggets And all that for €20.55! More than enough for 2 adults and 2 children. Where else can you find this? Highly recommended! The staff was also very friendly and helpful.

Ordered food through Thuiszorgd for the first time, and the food was great, nice and hot, and a generous portion! We quickly went back to get food, this time picking it up ourselves. Friendly and hard-working staff, my compliments! The food was delicious again.

Nice staff who are up for a joke

Ordered a satay menu here during an eel smoking competition. It was ready fairly quickly. The satay was delicious, but the fries were all small pieces (but the flavor was good). They were probably the last ones out of the bag, as other people who came later had nice pieces.

Had to wait a very long time for the food.

I went here on the recommendation of the employee who, when I bought an ice cream, told me he sold the tastiest homemade fries in special frying oil. Two days later, I bought fries, and he wasn't lying. We enjoyed them, and we ate everything. Thanks.

Normally, we find a positive in everything, but this time, it's truly hard to find! On Monday evening, we ordered a smash burger menu. The man behind the counter was irritated and clearly had lost interest. Our order was ready within a minute, wasn't it? Once home, the portion of fries turned out to be ten pieces, and half a server soaked in frying oil emerged from the mayonnaise? See photos… The smash burger was soggy, cold, and a piece of oily napkin also appeared in between… the burger was so soggy with grease/moisture that even the packaging was soft and torn. We're guessing this was all prepared somewhere and we received it reheated!!! Aside from the snappy man in a terrible mood and the quarter portion of fries, the food was truly inedible, especially after the extra oily napkin between the burger and the fries sauce… Too bad! Because it could have been so delicious, and the village doesn't have this concept yet.

Normally I don't write a review, but it has been a long time since I ate Kibbeling of this quality! And the rest of the fish looked fantastic. The staff was very friendly. So if you are near Spakenburg, Franklins is definitely recommended!

I long for the previous owner. She and her husband hand-picked the potatoes. They were peeled and hand-cut. This is partly why they received a high score in the AD fries test. The new owner has modernized the restaurant. The atmosphere has undeniably improved. But the hand-peeled fries are gone, the portions are smaller, the real cone is gone, and mayonnaise is almost impossible to find. However, the price has gone up 25%. There's still a lot to prove. I don't see an eighth-place finish in the AD fries test happening anytime soon. POSTSCRIPT dated February 15, 2025: There's been a new owner (again!) for a few months now: Franklin's! The hand-cut potatoes are back, the cone (your choice) is back, and the prices have dropped a bit. The customer service is fantastic; I'm thrilled! Four and a half stars!

Read a review about the stew, so I hesitated to order. It was super tasty, and certainly not dry. Definitely recommended. Fries were also delicious by the way.

Rode here solo and ordered fries and curry sauce, supposedly one of the most popular. On a cold and windy day, the fries were effective in warming Cherry Wonderdog’s belly. However, I was not terribly impressed by their quality. Even though they were cooked in oil on the premises, the fries came from a bag. The curry sauce was more sweet than spicy; god only knows how many chemicals it contained. Too bad they didn’t make their own toppings!

Great idea that you open at night, but the quality is not impressive. Croquette still cold inside and fries not cooked. Crazy weird taste to the mayo. Took a very long time and the quality was poor. Someone who has had a few drinks can easily be satisfied, but no one likes this.

Excellent location in the center. Mediocre fries, luxurious beef croquette should not have this name. Couldn't find any beef. Very unfortunate, disappointed in snack moment.
