Cafetaria De Vergulden Erpel in Wijk 00 Waalwijk

Had a delicious meal. Lots of choice. And friendly service.

Normally, I don't review snack bars or cafeterias, but this lovely place simply deserves a compliment. Everything exudes attention to detail: a clean and well-maintained restaurant, friendly and calm staff, and beautifully presented plates. The fries were delicious, the snacks tasted great, and even the fresh salad with honey-mustard dressing completed the experience perfectly. Moreover, the sauce was served generously and separately, ensuring the fries remained nice and crispy. You get your soft drink or juice in a bottle, accompanied by a clean glass. Cutlery and napkins are neatly placed in a tray on the table. You can really tell that the work here is done with care and enjoyment. If I may mention just one small point of criticism, it is the awning on the outside. It seems to have seen better days. With a little love, it will undoubtedly once again form the radiant entrance to this friendly Brabant village cafeteria. Otherwise, nothing but praise. We would love to come back here again.

Had a delicious meal here and good service 💯

I ordered a delicious sparerib platter here! 🍖 The spareribs were perfectly tender, and the accompanying salad and fries with fry sauce completed the meal perfectly. 🍟 As a surprise, I also received a dessert. I really enjoyed my meal here and will definitely be back! 👍😊

The food is very good, the staff is friendly and quick. They are accommodating with dietary restrictions; if you say in advance that you don't have to eat it, they take it off the price. Very fair.

Good service and delicious food.

So much choice! There is so much on the menu and everything we’ve had so far is incredibly tasty! We got takeout to eat with our colleagues. Despite the Friday afternoon rush, we were served quickly and, after not waiting too long, received our order neatly in a large box. We had a delicious meal!

We had ordered 'war fries' with satay and fries with satay without mayonnaise, and what did we get? 'special fries' without satay and fries with satay with mayonnaise. They read the receipt aloud at pickup exactly as ordered and ended up giving us the wrong thing. It wasn't a wrong order, because all the snacks were good, as ordered.

The food was tasty and the service was quick!

When ordering at work, I ordered two hot chicken sandwiches. Well, the sandwich was there, and so was the sauce, but there was no chicken in it, and then you pay €9 for that. Too bad, but I won't be seeing it again.

Still delicious. The five of us had a wonderful meal. Better than ordering takeout!

The food is still good, but the atmosphere is pitiful. No music, Christmas decorations still up, a completely weathered awning, a loyalty card system that's suddenly been discontinued, a partially empty display case, and service that doesn't even step up a notch when it's busy... Such a shame. This used to be a place worth driving out of your way for, but not anymore. It's a shame to see this once-beautiful establishment deteriorate rapidly.

Fries are old, the stew sauce has two small pieces of meat in it, the mushroom sauce, one slice of mushroom, and just enough for half a fry. Never again for me

Delicious food, very good satay!

Delicious fries and snacks and if you eat in, it is also served nicely.

Here you can eat delicious fries and enjoy delicious drinks

They forgot to put the onions on the frikandel but the rest was good

Patat, saté, salade, hamburgers die in de bestelde menu’s zaten waren allemaal erg lekker. Heel vriendelijke bediening.

What a great place, super clean and with all the attention and love the tastiest fries and many more are served... compliments and YES highly recommended ✨️

A bit cramped location but delicious food.

It's that we don't live nearby, otherwise we would come here more often.

The other reviews certainly weren't lying! Delicious fries and high quality snacks. You can sit comfortably and you just get normal cutlery. Friendly staff.

A top snack bar. Ate on the spot. Very friendly service. Very large portions, we could hardly eat the frikandel xxl, it was very tasty. Everything well and neatly taken care of.

Love this place and it's food! The red wine is pretty good too!

Delicious salad and martino sandwich

Order picked up for 20 people, ready at the agreed time and neatly packaged so that we could take the entire order with us in one go! Very satisfied

Very good quality and great service A higher level than the average chip shop. A bit more expensive

Frites were delicious, but very few. Girl serving was bad and unkind. She had forgotten the drinks in the kids boxes, and we had to ask another waiter for glasses for the other drinks. The food was delicious, but with such poor service we don't need it.

Orders go smoothly, appointments are properly fulfilled. Oh yes 😌☝️, the food is always tasty and at the right temperature 😉...

Everything was good, tasty food with 5 adults. The spicy chicken menu was delicious

Very smooth operation. The case looks neat and tidy. Nice presentation of the menu. Namely on a wooden plank with a mat that resembles a newspaper page. 😅 Prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. The fries were crispy, not too greasy and the satay with wimpie sauce and crispy fried onion rings, downright delicious. 😋 A visit is definitely worth repeating. 👌

Super tasty and beautifully served

Nice place and very good service from a young lady. I just don't understand the added value of naming a steak or hamburger after the province of Holland ???? It would be nicer if it featured Brabant!!!

Very good chip shop, caring staff

A delicious fries of Chinese stew......however, the portion of stew is very small. Too bad, fries left and no more stew...

Delicious fries, but that's because of Sabrina's great service 💗

Prices are not listed anywhere. Order a large fries without which I had to pay 3.60 for. I think they confuse big with small

Nice and good cafeteria. Good food.

Tasty potatoes, salad and delicious spareribs. Good ice cream and good service. Price - quality: okay. We come back !

Enjoy a snack, friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere. It is a good place to stay

All what I hoped for: great fries ‘speciaal’ and many other dutch food to choose from. Friendly service

Delicious fries and snacks. But on the pricey side

Here you can really enjoy delicious food. A real Burgundian Brabant cafeteria. Actually, cafeteria is a bit of an understatement. You can pick up of course. But if you take a seat at a table and order one of their delicious dishes, you will be presented with an entire menu. . Including dessert.. All this for 'cafeteria prices'. Highly recommended. Oh yeah. Also a nice friendly service..

Bediening is vriendelijk.

Not the fries like before at the Erpel. According to us, different fries and not our own cut. Order was also incomplete. No mayonnaise on the fries. Shame!!!!

My mother found this cafeteria via Google Maps. Nice little cafeteria with great staff. The place is neatly and comfortably decorated and the food is delicious and neatly served.

Such a shame this time, not what I'm used to from you, fries half-baked so raw on the inside and limp, the hamburger had cheap ham on it and the egg was way overcooked, it must have been a runny yolk, such a shame.

Delicious fries and everything is good and tasty and clean!!!!

Super good restaurant, super tasty food, nice service and very nicely served and child friendly..... Thank you 👍

My favorite cafeteria, always friendly staff, good fries and tasty (vegetarian) snacks.

I have never had the frikandel special anywhere as tasty as here and the ice creams (soft ice cream with a huge choice of toppings) were delicious!

Good quality, price on the high side. If you order a dish and also pay 1.10 for a little mayonnaise.

The best cafeteria in Brabant 👌

Delicious fries (the rest is also perfect). Top service. Nothing to add. Just as it should be.

I'm a regular customer, that says enough

I recommend, delicious burger. 😀

Good food and friendly service.

Just had an ice cream. Neat inside, friendly service. Nice place to sit outside on the terrace.

Elsewhere in the reviews it was written that the chicken was hard to find. Take a look at the photo and judge for yourself. A pan richly filled with delicious tender chicken and piri piri sauce. Delicious!

Once number 1 in the Netherlands I believe... Now an average place with Wijko satay sauce.. (come on) it used to be homemade.. Now 6 euros for fries and hot chicken, chicken not found... not even when I went outside to look... Unfortunately the last time I drove that damned distance for this joke... good luck with that factory food!!

Nice cup of coffee and ice cream. Friendly staff. To be repeated.

It's a chip shop and my eyes are empty

Lots of choice. Nice staff. Neat place with toilet.

Super tasty fries and burgers and nice service

Person behind the counter spoke poor Dutch. Mustard sauce is not the same as mustard.

Geen aanrader, olie niet vers. Vroeger veel beter. Geen huisgemaakte friet en vooral onbetaalbaar helaas

Good fries. Come here more often

Staff is friendly and good products

It was highly recommended to go

One of the best fries in Waalwijk

Good food for a snack bar, on the pricey side.

On the way back from a day at Efteling, I looked up a cafeteria via Google. And that was a bull's eye! What a beautiful, special cafeteria with really something extra. Enjoyed the delicious Java burger, the very friendly staff and the beautiful interior. And the two children in their playpen with gifts of their own choosing. This was the perfect end to a wonderful day. It's been 8 days now, but we really wanted to let you know. If we are ever in the area again, we would love to come back. Your slightly different cafeteria is appreciated!

Nice meal! Only the square frikandels were a negative surprise and not tasty.

Food is tasty and friendly staff👍

Delicious food at this nice place

Pleasantly busy, yet smooth service. Gluten free order handled perfectly.

We had a delicious meal and it was delicious again. Greetings Jannie and Cor

Very good service. I forgot to give a snack and they personally brought it home + received some extras. Super!

Good chip shop that is still pretty much the same since it was taken over by new owners.

Always friendly staff!! Especially Sabrina. And of course delicious fries

It has become very bad. The last 3 times I have eaten here, the food is really not tasty. The stew is inedible. The satay sauce is very thin and the milkshake is really just like water. It is a shame, while the food was really delicious before.

Has become less. You haven't sat down yet and they already ask what you want to drink.

Very nice place, despite the fact that the owner has changed, fortunately nothing else. Top products.

Very tasty food, especially the Java frikandel.

We ate there at the table. The food tasted good and the way the food was served also looked neat. The service was also good (they came several times to ask if everything was okay). All in all, much better than you would normally expect from a snack bar/cafeteria.

Very good fish and chips and more thingys to munch

One of the better fries shops in Brabant, no in the Netherlands, the fries are of unprecedented good quality and very, very tasty

Delicious food and very customer friendly

Despite new ownership, they continue on good terms. Very friendly, neat and tasty food.

Nice chip shop with good fries and nice staff.

Best chip shop ever, it's a shame that other owners are moving in

Very nice chip shop, good people

One of the best cafeterias in the Netherlands, very extensive menu

Simply the best cafeteria in Waalwijk and the surrounding area.

Delicious fries in a cozy setting.

Delicious food, cozy cafeteria with excellent service

For really good fries and delicious snacks, eat here 😍and the staff walking around there is always friendly, super fries farmer 👌👌👌
