Cafetaria 't Engeltje in Wijk 00 Baarle - Nassau

13-11-26 Upon entering, it didn't look clean or fresh at all. Food scraps everywhere you look, the frying pan was also greasy and dirty. I ended up cleaning the table myself. The fries were greasy, probably old oil. On top of that, half a bowl was full of small, hard pieces (see photo). I don't think I'll be coming back here again.

Rina made us a delicious portion of fries with stewed meat. My sons were received like kings. Thank you, Rina, for the warm welcome and the gifts.

I have eaten many Bicky burgers, but never a really bad one. The Bicky burger I ordered here wasn't even bad; it was just terrible. Took 3 bites and threw it away. I wouldn't even give it to a dog.

Arrived at this cafeteria on Saturday evening at a quarter to nine and couldn't order anything anymore because they had already cleaned the whole place, even though they were open until nine o'clock. The only good thing I can say about it is that they directed us to a great cafeteria further down the street. And there, we were able to place our order just fine, even though this one was also closing at nine o'clock.

No idea what went wrong, but it has been very bad for the past few weeks. Last time, too, there were two young boys providing poor service, and today (Sunday, July 5) again. There was one girl who was keeping things running somewhat. But the meat croquette was forgotten and the fricadelles special were uncut. Still paying top price. The milkshake flew through the kitchen. One big mess. Last time for me.

The stewed meat tasted burnt and the satay sauce tasted salty and sour; the fries were also cold. We are not coming back.

The place was a dump, the tables dirty. The fries were rubbish. The snacks are just as gross. The viandel almost walked off my plate. There were 2 girls in the place who I think didn't make it to 18. They were busy chatting but the place was barely cleaned. Definitely lacks a bit of management.

The fries were on the dry side, lots of crusts, and lacked flavor, the soap in the toilet was empty, and the chairs were dirty. It was fun to have tried it once, but in my experience, it is not worth repeating.

Nice food good tasting fries and big portions with lots of sauce for the price. Big meal for 8, fries with snacks.

Burnt, burst-open croquette. Fries were a bit tasteless, small portions. Unfriendly staff. Would not come back here again. It is nice that you can use the toilet, though.

The fries were overcooked, making them very dark and too crispy. The friendliness of the staff also left something to be desired.

For the umpteenth time, I didn't receive a complete order and then no one is reachable, terrible service!!

Super sweet girl behind the counter, highly recommended if you're really craving fries.

Super friendly service!!! Tasty fries and sauce! Top place 🥰

You could throw fries through a window. It was impossible, you eat your whole mouth to pieces. The woman serving on March 21st at 8 PM. What a grump. Never again.

The quality of the food has deteriorated significantly, and the fries weren't even fully cooked. Furthermore, products were prepared without regard for hygiene rules. The staff is mainly focused on themselves. Steef was also absent. Formerly the best in the area, but now no longer worth the money.

Friendly staff, good service, nothing wrong with it.

The bag for 3 people wasn't even half full, so it wouldn't fill 3 plates. I've always had good experiences at 't Engeltje, so I decided to call. €8+ for 3 people, and that little, is quite unusual. I was told this was normal, but it was still significantly less than usual. An apology was easily squeezed out at the last second. Too bad, not what they're used to. Tip: order for 2 people and you'll get the same amount for less! 🥳

Delicious fries with Belgian mayo, friendly service. Our regular stop in Belgium.

Real Belgian fries, delicious! With a choice of Dutch or Belgian mayo.

Great cafeteria! I got a huge dollop of satay sauce on my freshly made fries. Clean restrooms, equipped with soap and paper towels. The food was politely brought to my table; it's a nicely decorated place.

Fresh - Pre-fried fries were already brown from sitting out far too long. A nonchalant young man is not really acceptable in a cafeteria. He doesn't pay attention to cleaning greasy tables. The turn after entering is unreasonable. The atmosphere is personal, something for everyone. Not my taste. If I could give a minus two, I would give a minus three.

Very tasty fries and stew. Quite a bit of meat in a tasty sauce/stew. A medium size is a generous portion. Friendly service. We were there again last Wednesday. The fries were excellent, the stew was more than good, and the service was friendly. But one downside: it was freezing cold inside. We were literally freezing, and that's not pleasant to eat. So, unfortunately, we quickly moved on.

Good prices and very tasty. Definitely recommended. Cozy atmosphere with friendly staff.

I also think one star is too many snacks, not baked properly, cold inside, and undercooked. Inside, it's not clean. The tables are dirty, the container where the ice cream cones are in is filthy. I don't want ice cream there. The floor is also dirty. We were there around noon; they just opened. So dirty, it can't have been that long. Crumbs and dirt everywhere on the floor, doors, windows, and streaks. You can tell they're cleaning with a dirty cloth. The fabric chairs aren't fresh either, with stains and crumbs on them. One person leaves the table and another comes back to it without cleaning it in between. The hygiene is really substandard. All the equipment and what's on the counter—I mean, the area where the ice cream is made—isn't clean. Nothing is picked up to clean; they're cleaning around it, and there are dirty streaks everywhere, again from dirty water and the cloth. They're only there for baking and making money, and the hygiene is really substandard. I won't go there again.

Dogs are allowed in this snack bar. It's unhygienic, but besides that, the woman petted a dog, right around its mouth, and then prepared a plate of food without sanitizing her hands. No thanks, then I've already eaten and drunk.

It's a quiet, clean place. We liked it very much.

Fine for a Belgian fries, something went wrong with the order but was resolved quickly.

Delicious food and quick service

Super delicious fries, service is great. Especially if you're from 's-Hertogenbosch.

I had excellent fries. They made a mistake, though, and I received a cone as a gift. But I don't like two portions of fries, because then my belly sags even more. A tip for the owner: train your staff well. It prevents waste. And salt on the table is also a good thing.

Excellent Belgian-style fries. Skewered meatloaf (lightly spiced) and onion. Absolutely fried! Great for a snack.

Small snack bar, friendly staff. I ordered fries, and I could choose between Dutch (sweet) or Belgian (sour) mayo. We sat outside at one of the two small tables. My order was brought to me.

The staff were arguing in the store. Absolutely terrible, of course. The snacks were cold and undercooked. Not to mention the fries... limp, barely cooked, unsalted, and absolutely no fun to eat. Worthless. From now on, I'll order a frozen pizza instead.

The worst fries I've ever bought. I didn't eat a single one; I threw them all away. When I opened the bag at home, they looked like they'd been swept off the floor.

Delicious Belgian fries. Highly recommended!

There's nothing better than a "bels" fries, really fresh

Despite the fact that we arrived close to closing time, we received very friendly service and a delicious meal.

The girl standing there doesn't radiate much enthusiasm. Not a welcome feeling but more a feeling of 'I'd rather you get lost'. Fortunately she can fry a chip because that was good.

Delicious food, reasonably priced and an excellent experience. Good fries

Fast and high-quality service, a large assortment of meat dishes with French fries + beer + ice cream 😀

A pack of fries with a hint of orange (Holland or Belgium goes crazy about that border), the best in town!

Delicious fries, but the place always looks so dirty and the employees don't seem to have much interest or simply have a huge workload In 2025 it looks a lot cleaner and we enjoy coming there

Delicious food and plenty of seating. Sometimes it takes a little longer before you receive the food due to... rush. I've eaten here often enough and it's still delicious.

Delicious Belgian fries with mayonnaise. In short: good and tasty products.

On a cold Thursday evening, this bami disc kept me warm.🫡 The taste of the fries was different, but not bad.👍🏼 The samurai sauce fries had more than enough sauce in my opinion since it is a spicy🥵 sauce. And the bami disk, simply delicious. Well done, crispy outside, tasty, hot inside; in terms of temperature and spiciness.🔥 Moreover, there was enough seating on a quiet Thursday evening and our fries + snacks were delivered neatly with forks🍴 and salt.🧂🤌🏼

Arguably the best potato fries and fried chicken nuggets that I ate. Good prices and fast service too. Will definitely recommend. A small portion was quite big for me.

tasty food was ready quickly, nice and patient and the atmosphere was nice

Young people in the service have zero experience and are constantly with their phones in their hands

What a huge bad thing, cold fries and tough staff arguing among themselves because they can't cope with the crowds, having to wait more than 45 minutes. Never again this tent..

If the service/atmosphere was a bit more friendly, Food was exceptionally good

I have been missing two permanent employees for a while now, and since then something has gone wrong with the order every week. Fries are still good, but the friendliness of the two ladies is hard to find.

No Belgian fries, don't eat fries now

Yesterday I got some fries to end an afternoon in Baarle. I went for a fries war and my girlfriend for fries with Joppie sauce. The employees are friendly, cafeteria is generally clean and the fries were tasty. The fries with truffle mayo and spring onion were unfortunately not available, so I will come back for that next time!

We ate delicious fries...well done and a delicious filled beef croquette.

Got food yesterday. What a horror. Staff don't know what they are doing. Fries way too hard and that for a waiting time of more than 45 minutes. Eternally a shame.

I am not writing reviews frequently, but the exceptional waiting time at this venue has to be mentioned: Measured from arrival, it took more than half an hour before we finally got our (saltless) fries to go(!). We did not order anything special. Their fault is to offer and even prioritize delivery orders. TLDR: Stay away if you are looking for a quick snack.

It was very busy at that time but it was worth the wait Choice of Dutch mayonnaise or from Belgium

Delicious fries/fries and chicken nuggets! Always come here when I'm in Baarle.

Delicious fresh Belgian fries and soft ice cream

At least this cafeteria has Belgian mayonnaise

Someone was drunk and he gave us side fries, it was very strange. And what a nice place I had mayonnaise with fries it was delicious. I had 11 kilos of fireworks with me💥💣👍

Nothing to complain about the food. Everything was delicious and well taken care of It was a bit dirty. We sat down at a table that still had sauce on it from the previous people. There were also napkins on the floor... Maybe we just came in at the wrong time. We will probably eat there again. Because there was nothing wrong with that.

I had dinner here! The fries were dry, we asked for belse mayo we got dutch mayo. It didn't take long to get the food!

The food is very good and well served. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I recommend

Very good fries and very good stew! Highly recommended if you are in Baarle!

Nice staff and friendly and good products

Even when it is very busy you will receive good help.

Stay there, everything will be nice

Just had fries here, these are seriously the tastiest fries in Belgium!!! Fresh homemade fries and the owner is incredibly friendly. We will definitely come here much more often!! Top tent

Fries were a bit disappointing by Belgian standards

Delicious Belse fries with Belse mayo and stew!!

Delicious fries for a good price. Quick service.

Delicious fries and stew. Friendly service. Good for quick bite. For more atmosphere, go to the restaurant. Also recommended.

The tastiest fries in years, it is peeled by hand and you can taste it! Sitting comfortably in the cozy center of Baarle Nassau. Highly recommended

Delicious fries with snacks always come here for fries

Had delicious fries delivered today. Unfortunately there was a defect during delivery. They delivered this neatly after a phone call. Very friendly and good service.

Very nice and cozy inside, the food was also good, the atmosphere in the restaurant was very nice, the people were very nice

Amazing fries, and very generous on the sauce.

Szybka obsługa , dobre frytki i dodatki.Nie widziałem również brudu .Generalnie polecam.

Goede prijs kwaliteitsverhouding

gratis parkeren. aardig personeel vandaag. friet was weer lekker.

Eten word minder eerst grote stuken Belgische sate nu 5 kleine stukjes. Smaak is goed.
