Cafetaria 'T Houten Kietje in Wijk 00 Waalre

Fries a bit greasy, seem to be getting a lot of old fries reheated. Not very special, but fries.

The fries weren't good at all. Fried way too long and had a bitter aftertaste. You could throw the cheese soufflé against the wall. It used to be a good chip shop, but there isn't much left of that. A shame.

The best bacon hamburger ever. Really so good. I think it's pure beef. Great place. Friendly service.

Good equipment and nothing wrong with it. Still busy and well-attended.

Tasty snacks, griddle burgers, homemade meatballs in gravy, but also toasted sandwiches or fried eggs. High quality!

What a farce… unfriendly, lukewarm fries, no salt, stewed meat instead of satay, sauce on the side instead of on top even though we clearly requested that. I also wonder if the fries were freshly cut, but that is what they are known for! New owners… you can feel there is no passion left; it was certainly different with the old owners!! A huge missed opportunity for Waalre! For us, the first and immediately the last time!

Our preference is for cafeteria 't Gegraaf in Valkenswaard, but if it is closed or we are near Waalre, cafeteria t Houten Kietje is a good alternative. The food is top-notch. Unfortunately, the service, especially when it is busy, is off-putting and a bit chaotic...

Tasty fries and short wait time

Always tasty, fresh fries and good snacks. The staff is very friendly and the service is fast. A really nice place with top quality. Absolutely recommended!

I've been there 3 times this week. The first time was great. Rens was working then, as it always is when Rens is working. The second time, I found a thick, long, dirty black hair in my food. And the third time, my order was 15 minutes later than agreed. This is all within a week. And that's not even mentioning the times the order was forgotten, when they had to rush to start on it, or the times I hung on the phone for 10 minutes waiting for a response but got no answer. I think it's a shame that so much has changed compared to how it was before the takeover. I've been coming to Het Houten Kietje for about 19-20 years, and usually 3 or 4 times a week. But I'm afraid that won't last much longer... Very unfortunate.

Good fries and snacks. It is all getting a bit expensive though.

The food is good, sometimes there are a few mistakes, but that's to be expected. The service is good, but sometimes it takes a bit long! I do have to say, though, that it's a shame they only have one milkshake size and that that size isn't necessarily the biggest.... That would be a good improvement, bigger milkshakes.

Had a delicious soft ice cream on the bike route

The soft serve ice cream is definitely in my top 3. Not that watery soft serve, but nice and creamy.

Long wait due to crowds, the girl who was supposed to bring food walked outside even though I had said sit there, the food inside was cold

This place has everything well organized. Parking, seating, and the restroom are all good. Moreover, the food is tasty too.

The fries used to be better. Now, sometimes they are good and sometimes they are not. You need to improve or you will start losing customers.

Delicious fries, great snacks, and delicious too. Very friendly, skilled, and professional cafeteria service is top-notch, as is the atmosphere. The customer is our priority here!

Delicious food especially fries special, it's good to eat man very tasty but only one thing needs more salt with it old but approved friend will definitely come again

Fries and snacks fried very hard, no quality

Very satisfied, have been coming here for a long time and go there regularly, neat and clean and friendly service Lisa

I went on a date at Cafetaria Houten Kietje, and now we're a couple and we keep coming back. 5-star service, 5-star food, 5-star spark of love.

Friendly staff. Delicious fries.

Since the new owner they have cut back on snacks.. worthless meatball place. Don't order meatballs..

With my aunt, I had dinner in this cafeteria. Delicious, crispy fries with a soft inside. Bereklauw was on the cold side, my aunt had severe diarrhea, but I was allowed to flush the toilet😀👍👊🏻

WOW A TOP CHIP SHOP. GREAT STAFF DELICIOUS FOOD JUST DO IT!!!!

The fries are really not tasty! Fries and snacks for 10 people (of which we missed 2) for more than €76. First time with new owner, but for us the last.

Food is generally good, but they use too much sauce, for example with a special fries or with a snack where you order mayo.

A fresh chip shop, neatly maintained and friendly staff. The fries are classy: crispy but soft on the inside. Personally, the Belgian mayonnaise could have been a little more sour, but the piccalilli makes up for that. Great business!

Very good help and everything as desired!👍😀

Excellent snack bar, very friendly staff, quick service, has seating.

Today I went to get 2 frikadel special fries and one spicy noodles. What did I see when I got home? It was special fries instead of special frikadel. My wife not happy. The fries were fried way too hard and way too salty. Then she called dozens of times and got someone on the phone who was also helping someone else in the meantime. How? After she was finally able to finish her story after 3 times, the boss was called in. She was very friendly and correct. We received a voucher on the next visit. After this we gave them another tip. Do not fry fries until dark brown and put much less salt on them. Greetings

Excellent cafeteria for a lunch or snack break, good Dutch fries and very good quality ice cream.

Unfortunately, the takeover of this chip shop did not do much good and everything that Flip and his wife have built up over the years has ended up in the trash. There is no more talk about quality. Few fries and often undercooked. Hamburgers not cooked properly and so on. These people have no love for the profession but mainly want to make money quickly!

The hamburgers were inedible and the fries were inedible. I ordered a cup of satay sauce but it was very little. You won't see us here anymore.

Food was super tasty, only if you pay €3.85 for a small special and you then get a container that you have to look for in the packaging. hit me like a bomb. Apparently, when we went back, it is normally a bowl of normal, which in Limburg is a children's fries. Snacks are normal catering prices, portion of fries at amusement park prices. Too bad, but not for me anymore, even though it was tasty.

Placed a simple order and immediately some things went wrong, the order was packed even though it could be eaten on the spot. No problem and it was well organised, but the quality of the fries was not good and we have known better. Price-quality ratio is also not good, had bought milkshakes and received a measly little container/cup for which you paid full price. Never again unfortunately

Very tasty fries and friendly service

Normally I swear by the wooden kietje fries. Normally that is why I drive to Waalre for it. But this time it was very disappointing 🥺. Almost only hard bits, instead of real fries. That suddenly makes the saturation disappointing. There was also a sign on the counter that said: taste our meatball in gravy. That tasted like a boiled mealy clay ball in a puddle of brown water. Such a shame really.

Too bad the previous owners are gone... but yes, every cafeteria, every chip shop is being taken over.

When you think of the name, you think of a wooden shack, but that was in the past. Nowadays a stone building, coincidentally during a bike ride we passed by there and decided to have something to eat there. Just a fries special, the weather was pretty good so we sat outside. The fries tasted very good and the freitbakker (owner) came to deliver the order. Okay, it wasn't busy, so you can do that. You can store bicycles on the sidewalk, but I dare not say anything about parking.

Best fries in the region and delicious hamburger

Awesome. Come there several times a week. For lunch and dinner

Good fries, and it's been a long time since I ate a frikadel and thought to myself "but this frikadel is really tasty"

Fine. Not much space at the tables

The fries and stew are delicious.

Super fries and good quality snacks. Very neat and friendly. I will return.

Very good Fries place, the fries are delicious and fresh, but especially those, Delicious Hamburgers, home made, just candy burgers so delicious I give a 9 toppie Hans&Nelleke

First time there. Inside looks good. Only ate soft ice cream outside.

Super friendly and service-oriented employees. Good quality fries and fast service, the place looks clean. Great business!! It's a shame that parents nowadays raise children so freely that they are allowed to smear windows and chairs with greasy mayo hands. It's a real shame that they don't care about it and leave the mess for other users/employees.

One of the best burger i have tried

been twice in 1 week: rock hard fries on Tuesday and a bit better on Sunday. However, the quality remains mediocre overall. The salads are excellent and you are served by nice people

Super tasty fries, nice people and ready quickly!

I don't really like eating at a cafeteria anymore, but I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by the good quality of the food. It is highly recommended to eat there, you will certainly not regret it Gr Gerrit

Delicious fries. Strange: selling canned drinks with a deposit but not taking them.

Super chip shop, delicious food, friendly staff. Recommended!!

Enjoyed a soft ice cream on the "terrace". The ice cream was delicious, but way too noisy. This is a traffic artery and a shortcut. We fled from the terrace, because talking to each other at a normal volume is not possible here.

Very good service, tasty food and good value for money

clean, friendly, fast, fast food with quality

always good, been coming there for 30 years

Super tasty fries, friendly staff.

Delicious soft ice cream and friendly staff. Recommended🤩

10 stars... Normally I don't start like this, but these people helped my colleague last week 😂 don't know that my reviews are viewed almost 80,000 times a week. So here's my thanks! My colleague gets a fries of satay and puts it in the bus on the cool box... And drives away... Everything all over him 😂😂 now I walk in for napkins and a new fries of satay.. now I get a STACK of napkins and a side of satay fries. Such nice people and they are so rare. The fries and snacks are certainly worth 5 stars, but the staff is 100% 10 stars. Thanks again and see you soon 🏆

Good meatballs and good service

Every time we cycle past there we stop there for a delicious ice cream.

We did not try delicious Italian ice cream rest,

Nice snack bar with friendly staff and its own parking space on the Bergstraat in Waalre. And the fries and snacks are tasty

Very tasty food. Delicious fries, friendly staff, sit inside or outside

Basically it was fine. Had higher expectations as I used to have better fries. I now thought they were too thin, which meant the bite was less. The close parking is a big plus!

Very tasty fries and always super fast service!!

An extensive and varied offering. The satay sauce is really great! It's also nice that you can choose between a hamburger from the fat or from the griddle

Traditionally very well-known ŕestaria that moved from the famous wooden crack to the other side in a stone building a few years ago; plenty of parking spaces in the immediate vicinity! Extensive menu!

Super delicious creamy soft ice cream...very friendly service

Goei chip shop, a household name in Waalre and the surrounding area

A really good chip shop. Recommended.....

It was a very busy Friday evening. And it was also busy with orders. But how hard people work there. And it goes together so smoothly. Despite all the telephone orders, people coming in and my own order, I don't think I had to wait 15 minutes. Great to see how a team can work so smoothly

Clean friendly staff good fries and soft ice cream

Tasty chip shop, friendly service, nice meal on the small but nice terrace in the sun

Tasty snacks and they were open when others were closed

Great fries place is usually within 5 minutes Really worth eating

Tasty and good food. Nice, friendly service

Delicious food and very friendly service

Nice cafeteria. Fries and snacks tasted great.

Recommended. Quality of products, service, price are great

Excellent !!! Delicious stew!!!

Very good fries, delicious. Nice thing!

Poor service, weak fries, forgot to add 3 snacks and when I asked if I could still have it they said no!

The best chip shop with consistent quality 👍

Friendly and tasty fries, snacks also served quickly

Been coming there for years, always well cared for and friendly 🤗

Very unique fries and fast service despite being busy. Great!

Top. Friendly staff ! And most of all, honestly, a young man at the counter found out that I had paid too much and he said he made a mistake and gave me back the excess money. Everyone can be wrong!

Normally fine, but expensive here. Ordered this x hamburger, did not receive it, no apologies, just waited 15 minutes again.

Very tasty fresh fries, not 5 stars because the prices are above average.

Delicious fries and good snacks

Best fries in Brabant and the rest of the Netherlands (for the Dutch: they don't have fries, just fries!)

The tastiest fries and nice people.

Excellent. Very good business and employees. Nice place to eat your food there, lovely people, come there very often.

One of the tastiest chip shops near Aalst Waalre!

to try some real fries with what comes with good service, clean, neat chip shop, ample parking space
