Very peaceful place to have dinner in the middle of Rotterdam. Food was nice. But waiting time was bit too long , I think they only have two waiters

Food - 9/10 Tried 4 cheese pasta which was super tasty 🤤, service 10/10, ambience 10/10, quantity - I dish well enough for a person.

Café Italia in Rotterdam is such a cozy and welcoming spot. The atmosphere is warm and nicely decorated inside, making it a great place to enjoy a meal. We wanted to dine here but we were refused entry with the assistance dog, at least that is not allowed according to the law!!

I usually prefer to write positive reviews, but here I have to do the opposite. Carbonara. I understand: cream. parsley. burnt pancetta. But not overcooked pasta or overcooked cream. The taste was simply strange. After 5 minutes, everything congealed on the plate like jelly. I don't recommend it. The waiters seem to know what they're selling, because not once did anyone ask if everything was okay.

A lot has to happen if we want to return again, in other words work for the new owner and the kitchen brigade. We started with a tomato soup, normally something to look forward to, but unfortunately. The soup was watery and tasteless. And the main courses were also disappointing. Tagliatelle agli spinaci and salmon: the pasta was not al dente (edges were hard). You had to search for the salmon, spinach and tomatoes with a lamp. The dish was also tasteless, even using the pepper mill did not help. The classic lasagna was also tasteless, even the sauce around it tasted like nothing. And actually that is not surprising because in the restaurant you did not smell those typical Italian kitchen smells. It must be said that the tomato soup at 9 euros per starter was not charged as a gesture of goodwill. Although you can't compare, we are homesick for Doz. Under his leadership and his kitchen brigade, we enjoyed the food that was prepared and served there for more than a decade. It didn't matter what you ordered, it all tasted equally good and the pasta was freshly made. And the smells in the restaurant automatically made you want to eat.

I drank a coffee there today it was good nothing to say but the service was not at all a girl with dark hair served us and she behaved really badly it seemed like I went to eat or drink for her money! We wanted to eat but I let it go that at all she was not kind

Good food but not very exciting, too bad they don't have a cocktail menu on world cocktail day. Waitress did have something special for the hospitality industry these days: she is friendly, laughs and smiles all the time..... that makes up for a lot!

Turns out the children's pasta bolognese and pizza margarita are *much* better than both the lasagna & pasta aglio e olio we ordered. In fact I tried a piece of the pizza and loved it. So let's all go back to being kids for a better experience! 😉 The lasagna had lots of layers and cheese but only a bit of bechamel on the top and the expected minced meat sauce was virtually absent. Be a bit more generous with the bolognese sauce and bechamel so you don't end up with something as dry/sticky. Then there was the pasta. It tasted very strange. We had an amusing discussion amongst ourselves on how this could have happened. The chef on the other end of the table said something about different olive oil grades, which I think is fair and polite. But I think a few bouillon blocks were dissolved in the water instead to give it this taste. I really hope it's not true! The waitress was very friendly and went out of her way to entertain the kids. But when she asked whether I liked the lasagna I gave an honest answer and then... nothing happened. Why even bother asking then? You see in Holland everything is always up for debate, so at least this could have resulted in a manager coming to our table in order to explain to us that we just have a bad taste etc. But that didn't happen! As a native this is kind of a missed opportunity to me since this is our way! 🤭😄 To be fair today was Kings Day which is an absolute nightmare day for restaurants because of potential staffing problems. 🥳

We had a great meal there until we came across an iron wire in the food. It later turned out to be a thread from some kind of scouring sponge. An overzealous cleaner had apparently not rinsed the pan properly. It was resolved well, we did not have to pay for the food. It tasted delicious, so it's actually a great restaurant. Unfortunately, the desserts did not compare to the quality of the main meal. They were disappointing. So if you eat here, no dessert can only be our conclusion. Despite the extra iron in the food, it is still recommended.

I have been coming to Caffè Italia, located on Doelenplein, with friends for years. Usually prior to a concert or performance in De Doelen. It is a charming restaurant, tasty pizzas and pastas, friendly and smooth service by nice staff. The preparation is taken into account when we have a performance... The restaurant has recently been sold to another owner... The last time we ate there was before a Rufus Wainwright concert. It was nice to notice that the dishes, the staff and the ambiance still felt just as pleasant compared to the other owner... some things should be kept as they are... Until next time...

Had coffee and lunch here. I had a chicken sandwich. It was very tasty. Maybe there was a little too little mayonnaise with the chicken sandwich. Service was very friendly. Nice chat with the waitress about studies, living in Rotterdam, etc.

We ate dinner yesterday with a group of eight. The pizzas were delicious, but could have had a bit more toppings. They did forget one pizza, so it had to be started when we were almost finished. They should have offered a little something to compensate for that. The atmosphere in the restaurant is good, and the service is friendly. One tip: get your knives sharpened, because the pizzas were almost impossible to cut. Another tip: buy more wine glasses. They literally waited at your table until you finished your wine so they could have another glass. In short: for a quick pizza: a fine place, but nothing more.

The food was good, but nothing exceptional; just a regular restaurant, though in the centre of Rotterdam. In the summer, the ambience is better in my opinion, as you can sit outside and enjoy the good weather. The staff, however, wasn’t the kindest, as they kicked us out before the time it was said that the restaurant closes. The coffee was good actually, so for a brief coffee break for yourself, it’s quite alright.

Good pizzas. Homemade base, really tasty. Good wine! Too bad about the service, have a chat, smile a little, show that you like people to come and eat. Be proud of the food you serve. We actually only came for a cup of coffee, but the food smelled so good that I decided to eat here. On the waitress's recommendation, I went for the pasta carbonara and it was absolutely delicious! I will definitely come back here again.

We have been regular customers at Caffe Italia for years. We are always received with a warm greeting and very good service. Very tasty meal and highly recommended!

There was a group of flies by the door and outdoor seating and the waitress did nothing to remedy this - flick on a heat lamp easy, and when choosing which restaurant of these on this street to eat at for dinner, the waitress was rude and dismissive. They also turn away tourists in need of restrooms!

Employee had made a mistake: I had to wait about half an hour to 45 minutes longer than normal because she had not placed the order correctly. This can happen and I also understood this. She had made up for it because she was in control of this herself: She asked me if I had already received the order and went after it. Furthermore, she was friendly and helpful. For that, I give the service two stars instead of 1. Because I had to wait 45 minutes longer and I needed my phone, I asked if I could sit in a place where there was a charger while the main course was still on its way. If I didn't have to wait those 45 minutes, I could have charged my phone somewhere outside. The only place with chargers available was a place where a couple just sat down and I explained my story and they had no problem moving over. The owner, on the other hand, stood there and I wanted to apologize to him and justify myself, even though it wasn't because of me in the first place. He stood there with an unhelpful attitude, walked away before I could even finish my sentence and then started grumbling to his colleague. The pizza was delicious, the dessert less so. What we found disturbing is that there is less than 10 centimeters between the tables. We sat next to the door of the toilets and the pantry, which brought a lot of cold and unrest. Also foggy. we experience the atmosphere that should be in an Italian restaurant.

Wij hadden dinsdag 19-12 ons jaarlijkse etentje met werk, echter de pizza bodems waren sompig, en de pasta erg zout. Al met al geen aanrader, ik ken vele Italiaanse restaurants welke, zeker voor deze prijs, een beter aanbod hebben.

Heerlijk gegeten, vlotte bediening, lang geleden dat ik zo'n lekkere, goed gevulde, vegetarische pasta op heb.

Enorm lekker gegeten. Bediening zeer vlot en erg vriendelijk, ondanks dat het restaurant flink vol zat. Lekkere wijn en prima koffie. Hoop hier weer eens te eten.

Eten is goed. De eigenaar is enorm gestressed en ongeïnteresseerd. Personeel was ook moe oid. Wij waren nog niet klaar en hij zette op onze tafel een gereserveerd bordje. Ze kwamen tussendoor niet vragen of wij wat wilden drinken ook geen toetje. Wij moesten snel weg. Bij binnenkomst mochten wij niet zitten waar wij wilden zitten,hij deed heel moeilijk. Ook de jassen moet je dan zelf gaan ophangen, de manier van zeggen is zo onaardig. Kortom niet echt klantvriendelijk. Dit was onze 2e keer hier maar of ik weer zal eten weet ik even niet meer.

Vriendelijke (aantrekkelijke) serveerster die ons naar een tafel aan het raam bracht en ons bediende. Carpaccio en lasagne waren ook lekker. Het was niet te druk, dus prima toeven.

Authentiek Italiaans restaurant met prima menukaart. Vriendelijke bediening en gezien het feit dat het restaurant continu vol zit betekent wel wat. En dat blijkt ook uit het eten, prima pizza's, enzovoorts.

Caff'e Italia in Rotterdam Das Café Italia ist ein Restaurant und Cafe mitten in Rotterdam. Es ist toll eingerichtet. Das Essen war sehr gut, wir waren zu viert und allen hat es geschmeckt. Es ist gepflegt und sehr sauber. Die Küche ist offen, sodass man bei kochen zuschauen kann. Dann gibt es was besonderes hier im Café Italie der Inhaber D. Karnaz meine er heißt DOS ist ein Inhaber der seinen Kaffee selbst röstet. Diese tollen Kaffee Röstungen kann man hier im Kaffee auch erwerben bzw kaufen. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis ist super. Der Service war super das Personal sehr nett. Parkhäuser gibt es viele in der Nähe Komme gerne wieder. Gruß Alexander

Vreselijk. Bij aankomst wilden wij buiten zitten dus hebben wij netjes gewacht op de tafel die volgens de serveester zo weg zou gaan. Vervolgens wordt die tafel direct ingenomen door en ander koppel, omdat de andere serveester niet wist dat mijn gezelschap en ik stonden te wachten. Afijn, andere tafel buiten gekregen. Het duurde even totdat wij een kaart kregen, eenmaal gekregen hebben wij direct besteld. Hierbij wilde ik mijn gerecht pittiger door chilipepers eraan toe te laten voegen. Nou dit doen zij normaliter niet geeft de serveester aan, maar voor 1,50 extra kan het nu wel voor een keer. Nu wil mijn gezelschap iets van haar gerecht vervangen vanwege een gevoeligheid voor dat ingrediënt. Dit kon dus absoluut niet. Ook niet voor 1,50 meer, het was onmogelijk om de gerechten aan te passen. Heel raar en oneerlijk dat dit wel bij mij kon maar niet bij mijn gezelschap. Na deze interactie werden wij ook behandeld alsof ze ons weg wilden hebben. Het eten was ook nog eens smakeloos en zo warm alsof het onder een kapotte warmtelamp heeft gestaan. Niet voor herhaling vatbaar, raad het iedereen af.

Eten was erg goed. Pizza pollo is een aanrader. Service was wel langzaam. Maar de bediening was wel vriendelijk. Als jij een leuke avond wil, steek veel je hand op dan komen ze wel naar je toe.

Caffè italiano eccellente. Finalmente in tazzina di ceramica. Dopo tanti "espressi italiani" in giro per l'Olanda, di certo questo è l'unico degno di tale nome. Personale gentilissimo. È stato come sentirsi a casa.

Es un buen lugar para comer o para cenar pero en este caso tienen que ampliar un poco el horario. Los camareros muy atentos.

El sitio es correcto con una buena terraza. La amabilidad del servicio es buena y la calidad de la comida también. Además buenas pizzas, pero deberían revisar la hora de cierre de la cocina por la noche ya que toda su competencia ofrece un servicio mayor.

Haben dort verschiedenste Nudelgerichte ausprobiert. Leider hat keins richtig überzeugt, die Arrabiata war zu wässrig, die Bolognese ungesalzen und die Scampi Pasta war zu scharf. Darüber hinaus war das Personal sehr unfreundlich und man muss für alles einen Aufpreis zahlen, auch Änderungen aufgrund von Nahrugsmittelunverträglichkeiten waren nicht möglich. Fazit: Es macht satt aber es lohnt sich nicht für 20€+ und ich würde es nicht weiterempfehlen.

We hebben met 9 personen gegeten. Het eten kwam op tijd. Erg lekker gegeten. Het eten was vers en van goede kwaliteit. Personeel is aardig en beleefd. De eigenaar houdt van een grapje. Wij ook. De koffie was ook goed. We hebben meteen een pak koffiebonen gekocht. Wij komen zeker terug!

Ongecompliceerde lekkere gerechten, probeer ook zeker de koffie.

Bediening maakt bij binnenkomst een wat sombere indruk. Maar we mochten bij het raam zitten met zn twee , dat is al 1⭐ waard. Bij een Italiaan begin je met wijn, dus de kaart. Ik heb nog nooit zo'n karige en simpele wijnkaart te zien gekregen met flessen van €30😳. Dit is gewoon GEEN Italiaan! En mag geen Italiia heten! Dan de entourage, de tafels waren schoon met het bestek. Toch 1 fles tegen gekomen en rode MONTEPULCIANO D'ABRUZZO, tja ik moest wat. 30 euro voor een 6 euro per fles wijn maar ach. Italië is het land van muziek en wel mooie muziek. In dit etablissement draaien ze klassiek😳. Geen Italiaanse muziek. . Tja dan zit je daar eenmaal. Dan maar eten bestellen en het voorgerecht was eenvoudig maar goed per persoon 2 per persoon bruchetta met tomaat. Kost 4 euro keer 4 is 16 euro voor 2 personen per stuk 😳. Beschuithe met tomaat op een leuk versierd bord. Een matige Bruchetta dit zeg. Hoofdgerecht:Tagliatelle peper. Deze was karig zie foto maar goed. 2 ster extra👌⭐.⭐ Dan een toetje , Teramisu en ik nam een glas Averna. De Teramisu was niet vers , de cake van binnen was korrelig. Conclusie , dit etablissement mag geen Italia heten, zeker niet op.zon top locatie. Heet je toch zo, zorg dan dat je corebusiness aansluit op de naam van het bedrijf. Geen Italië gevoel. Bijna 100 euro en 7 euro fooi voor de dames. Bij het verlaten werden mijn vrouw en ik niet gegroet of opgemerkt. Ik kom niet verder dan 3⭐
