Teleurstellend. De pretentieuze inrichting en de menukaart wekten hoge verwachtingen. Helaas was een groot deel van de Marokkaanse gerechten niet te krijgen. Zogenaamd omdat het druk was geweest. Dus geen tajines, geen kipspiesjes, geen Marokkaanse koekjes. Smoes, want toen wij om 17 uur binnenkwamen waren we de enige gasten en op 1 tafeltje stonden nog de resten van het ontbijt. Van wat we wel konden bestellen was de harira en de salade maroccain goed, de bstilla redelijk en de couscoussalade heel slecht. De couscous kwam uit een pak uit de supermarkt waar je alleen water bij hoeft te doen en de salade was smakeloos. De bediening was matig. Geen reclame voor de Marokkaanse keuken.

Tonight I had couscous at Casa Ummi in Veenendaal. It's highly recommended! The food is delicious, with pure and refined flavors you won't soon forget. The interior is also beautiful and atmospheric, which makes the experience complete. There should be more restaurants like this—where everything is perfect. I'll definitely be back!

Food was great! Service was worthless, wanted to have a coffee after dinner, half of the table was cleared and the lady sat back down at the table with her friend to chat, so we left after waiting 15 minutes.

Yesterday I was supposed to have a high tea at Casa Ummi with friends. Unfortunately, they had not processed the booking, while the manager had asked me by telephone 2 weeks ago what, how and when. She even wanted to know what the theme was... because they were not prepared, we had to wait half an hour so that they could still organize it. We were put in a tight corner. Half a bowl of soup first. After a complaint about shortages, we were moved, sandwiches and snacks did not seem fresh and leftovers from previous orders. Not suitable for 5 people. When ordering extra drinks, the waitress tells us that everything has run out and that it is the last day of the week, so no groceries in the house. Supermarket is 2 minutes from them! At checkout I received a 5% discount for this crappy high tea, so that was it. No apologies from the manager, but from the waitress who showed secondhand shame...in short, it was a disaster!

Casa Ummi is easy reachable by public transport or by car. Nearby (3min walk) you can park your car in the parking garage above the Hoogvliet supermarket. The ambiance is very nice, kind staff and the menu is delicious. We had the peas soup and Msemen and both were delicious! One point of feedback, it could have been warmer inside. We visited mid-November, and the temperature could have been slightly warmer. Would I return? Yes. For 2 people, 2 drinks, 1 lunch each we spent €22,00.

Msemen couldn't be eaten like eating pieces of plasterboard and you have to lubricate everything yourself as if you were at home. There are many little girls working who giggle all day and prices are absurd as if they were gold. The interior was nice, but nothing more than that.

Today we had dinner with my family; discerning eaters and gourmets. I ate and took everything, everything was gone. It was delicious, you taste Moroccan cuisine. But the fries, pizza, hamburger and nuggets were also delicious! We enjoyed it and will definitely return during our stay. The location (parking garage next door) was ideal, as was the interior, beautifully decorated and wonderfully quiet. Thank you for the service and hospitality, we received a friendly welcome and the service was also great; until next time!

The most unique and, in my opinion, tastiest grilled sausage sandwiches in the Netherlands. They really have their own sandwich. No standard baguette or bun. Top!

Wonderful restaurant with food and service. The atmosphere is nice but unfortunately and also a bit disappointed that they play music with a whole group on the day that the earthquake in Morocco caused more than 800 deaths. That's a bit of a shame

New kid in town in Veenendaal! I'm not going to say anything about the beautiful interior (... a feast for the eyes or rather... eye-catching)... the food was as the name suggests: just like 'Ummi' (mother in Arabic). Cozy and delicious authentic Moroccan breakfast. The msemen😋…really tasty and some fried eggs. And of course a Moroccan tea. Just without too much fuss. What an atmosphere and a beautiful location in the center of Veenendaal. Pleasant!

Brunch on Sunday. Super nice service from the owners. Moroccan influences are clearly present. Hot meals will be expanded. Definitely come back sometime.

I enjoyed the Moroccan tea and couscous. The Moroccan decor contributed to a good atmosphere. This restaurant is definitely recommended.

The food was delicious and the service was top notch. I ordered a breakfast beldi (fried egg, olive oil, msemmen with cheese, orange juice and tea). Everything tasted good. Atmosphere was less because of the music in the morning, perhaps that could change to silence and peace (especially when you are in conversation, it can be disturbing).

A very nice thing! Very friendly people👌🏻 But the food was just really bad if I can be honest. The first time I got the hamburger with a lot of sauce, even though I wanted it without sauce... They did their best to provide good service... But here you pay a lot of money for a small hamburger, which I personally find disgusting. And then also just a Dutch Hamburger 😂 I left it alone! I'm used to it differently, that's also possible... It was also eerily quiet there and somehow I don't find that strange... Not a second time for me unfortunately…!

It is a beautiful place on the inside. I was pleasantly surprised. There were hardly any people there. We found the lunch menu small with many Dutch dishes. The explanation of Moroccan dishes was not optimal. Ultimately we opted for soup and a kind of pancake. Because of course we wanted to eat something Moroccan. We finished it off with a mint tea to which a lot of sugar had been added. Too sweet for us. But that has to do with taste. The food was good. Nice to try it once.

Had lunch here with my husband. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. I can recommend everyone to have breakfast or lunch there. In any case, we sat there for a nice long time and enjoyed Moroccan dishes and went home with well-filled bellies.
