Food are super nice But too many flies…….. i asked to change seat, staff said there are flies everywhere instead of changing table for us

Me and my husband went for dinner was greeted with amazing service was a packed restaurant didn’t have a reservation waited 3 minutes for a table . We had ordered 2 amazing beef soups (next time only get 1 if your planing on sharing dishes ) and the best fried rice we’ve ever had as well as the spicy dumplings not to forget the flower tea was a perfect balance to everything will definitely go back 🤞🙌

A Fantastic Sichuan Restaurant in Amsterdam! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of the best places to enjoy authentic and delicious Sichuan food in Amsterdam. The food was absolutely amazing, especially the spicy chicken and lamb full of flavour and perfectly spicy. A special mention to Kuncho, who served us. She was incredibly friendly, welcoming and attentive. Every time she came to our table, she had a lovely smile and made us feel very comfortable. If you are in Amsterdam and love spicy Chinese food, don’t miss this restaurant! It is definitely a place worth stopping by for a delicious meal. Highly recommended! Rohini ♥️

We stopped in for a quick meal because it was close to our hotel. Unfortunately, the fried rice was extremely bland and lacked flavor. I added soy sauce to mine, but it still didn’t help much. My husband ordered the shrimp fried rice and didn’t even want to finish it. We only tried the fried rice, so I can’t speak to the rest of the menu, and they may have other dishes that are much better. Based on what we ordered, though, I wouldn’t recommend the fried rice.

We were lucky to get a table for 6 when we arrived around 5pm, but the restaurant quickly filled up as the evening went on. The place isn't very large, which adds to its cosy atmosphere, but it also means tables can be hard to come by. I'd definitely recommend booking in advance, especially for larger groups. The menu offers plenty of choice, with a wide variety of authentic Sichuan dishes. As Sichuan cuisine is known for its bold and spicy flavours, expect some heat! However, there are milder options available, and we were able to order dishes that weren't too spicy for our two children. The staff could speak English, which made ordering easy. It took a little while for our order to be taken because the restaurant was busy, but once our order was placed, the food arrived quite quickly. The food was delicious, full of flavour, and well worth the wait. If you're visiting with children, just be aware that Chinatown is adjacent to Amsterdam's Red Light District, so it's something to keep in mind, particularly later in the day. This restaurant serves some of the spiciest Sichuan dishes I've tasted (and I count among them restaurants in mainland China itself). The region's dishes it serves up are delectable, fiery and peppery hot on the palate (though you can ask for milder dishes, but what's the point?!). I came here at the invitation of my youngest son who is a true convert and regular patron so, guided by him, we tried three dishes: spicy Mongolian beef, Chengdu red chili chicken and Sichuan boiled pork in chili oil. All as delicious as the menu photos suggested (you can tell a fine Chinese restaurant both by the veracity of its menu - authentic tastes promised by photos! - and the ethnicity of its clientele: clearly this restaurant is well like by Chinese customers too). The three dishes for the two of us were more than enough for an early lunchtime meal. The service is friendly and efficient (no long waits for the food). The charming owner introduced himself inquiring how we enjoyed the cuisine. Not something that happens too often in a Chinese restaurant. Top marks to the Sichuan Restaurant for its service, decor, geniality and its fantastic tasty spicy food. Highly recommended.

Too salty and oily feels like loaded MSG and you need to buy water that cost €10

Food is horrible you can go if you love to waste your money and want to be made to feel guilty about it. Worst place I have ever been to. Staff is extremely arrogant and they make you feel like they are doing you a favour.

Worst chinese food ever. Rude staff. When we gave them feedback on the food they said its business and not their problem that we didn’t like the taste. All of the dishes were extremely overpriced and a disgrace to chinese food. Please don’t ever go here. We were also charged 4 euros for 1 tiny glass of water.

I only had the opportunity to taste the small soups with tofu, wonton, and chicken; they are perfect for a light meal or as a starter, and I would definitely order them again if I return. I am also curious about the other dishes, as they look delicious. It is a shame that the cocktails on the menu are not available. The atmosphere is very intimate and cozy, the music is excellent, and the service is very friendly. As for areas for improvement, I would say: the condition of the flooring in the building.

Very disappointed by the mapo tofu. It was full of pieces of raw ginger. As a result, the dish tasted mostly of ginger and was bitter.

It's a long-established restaurant in Amsterdam's Chinatown. We ordered four main dishes, but I felt the dumpling skins were a bit thick, and the dan dan noodles were rather bland! However, the fried rice and fried noodles were quite unique and delicious!

I only went jn fir Xiao long Pau. We ordered tea and bak choi. They were nice. The Pau were not good. The mess had an emulsified texture, or as though it had been massaged too much. Not quite hot dog but on the way. The color was slightly darker than it should be. Like turkey leg meat colour. The flavour was unremarkable. The server asked, and I told her that it wasn't good. She didn't ask for more details, I can only assume that she knows already. Also all Pau were leaking. They burst when picked up from sticking to the steamer paper. If you put a thin slice of carrot underneath this doesn't happen

This week, we went to Sichuan Restaurant in Amsterdam with the family. Overall, a positive experience! The taste is top-notch: truly authentic Chinese, exactly how you hope to taste it. The dishes had the right spiciness and depth of flavor. However, we did notice that the portions are quite small, while the prices are not exactly low. As a result, the bill adds up quite a bit for a family. Despite this, we enjoyed the meal. If you love real Sichuan flavors and don't worry too much about portion size, this is definitely recommended.

I have been going here very regularly with my grandparents and my family since I was little. It is undoubtedly our favorite restaurant in Amsterdam. The food is always amazing here!! And the atmosphere is beautiful. No matter how often I come here, it just remains such a beautiful, well-maintained place. Amazing!! Thank you for all the times I have been here!!

We quickly ordered a few appetizers and two main courses. The whole family went there. It was one of the best Chinese meals I've ever had. As an Austrian, you might occasionally find something like this in Vienna, but otherwise, it's hard to find. Friendly, fast, and no pretentiousness.

Delicious every time. Yu Xiang Eggplant is just the best. Yet the “spiciest” dishes on the menu are not very spicy. Will come back soon anyway.

Garlic-flavored pork belly is extremely dangerous! It will surpass everything else you eat in the Netherlands! From now on, everything else you eat will only leave you with sorrow 😭😭😭😭 It's not the typical Taiwanese garlic sauce; it's more like the spicy garlic sauce used in Sichuan-style chicken. The service was excellent, and everyone spoke Chinese. Perhaps because it's in the heart of Amsterdam, the prices are extremely high. Each dish costs around 20 euros, even something as simple as stir-fried bok choy (with only a few leaves) costs 16 euros – really unaffordable. The seating is cramped; you'll bump elbows with the next table. You have to ask the people at the next table to get up and make way for you to move around. The portions are very small, definitely not enough for a family of four; each dish is at most for two people. Because it's so expensive, you can't order more side dishes to enjoy it more. The fried rice was dry and tasteless; don't bother ordering it.

All the reviews concerning the lack of service or rude service is spot on. I usually don’t care too much about reviews that relates to customer service, especially being in the industry. I understand how hard it could be (i.e. busy, understaff, rude customers, etc). However, when we visited, we saw the restaurant was empty and so we walked in, expecting good service because of that. Nope, it was not. Waiters non-existent. Asked for tap water and they claim they don’t sell tap water…every restaurant in Amsterdam gives tap water, if you ask. Food was overly salty. Asked for chopsticks and they came over and slamming it down. Asked for certain things on the menu, they claimed they don’t have it. Yet if it’s sold out there’s stickers on it. But not on like half the menu lol overpriced food. Ask for bill and told me to walk up to the front. Even though other tables near us got the machine brought to them. Good luck to everyone walking in. But there’s better Chinese food next door.

Great experience! Very nice and comfortable atmosphere, background music at a very low volume. The food is very tasty and the price is fair. If you are not Asian, be careful with the chili peppers. Our dish was indicated as level 1 spicy and even so it was very, very spicy!

A wonderful place with delicious food. The soup portions were small but very filling.

i ordered just a bowl of dan dan noodles close to closing time, and a glass of cold water. they instead gave me a tiny bottle of water for eur3.50. so be very clear that you want tap water because they will automatically upsell you. the noodles were prepared absolutely correctly but the portion was on the smaller side and the price was typical for the tourist zone, i.e. 20% too expensive for what it is. (when i went there were a lot of chinese customers finishing up their meals, which is a good indication in my book that they are doing something right.)

Honestly it’s a mixed experience I personally enjoyed the sweet and sour duck however my party did not enjoy the Mongolian beef as it was just crunchy pepper on beef and the soup was too oily and thick noodles with a few amount of wantans as for the sweet and sour chicken it was good except it was riddled with red pepper and ruined the flavor and for the fact that we also spent 100€ it does not seem worth it especially since rice is separate and didn’t feel like a proper meal considering each plate is 20€

The worst thing was the value for money. Chinese restaurants in the Netherlands are usually very good. Unfortunately, this one wasn't. For €35 per person, the atmosphere was also too poor. It could all be much better.

Authentic Sichuan Cuisine That's Addictive Without a recommendation from a Chinese friend, I probably would never have ended up at China Sichuan Restaurant. I'm all the more grateful for this tip. For me, this is the best place in Amsterdam to enjoy authentic and pleasantly spicy Sichuan cuisine. The dishes impress with intense flavors, genuine spices, and an authenticity rarely found outside of China. I've now been here three times – and each visit has been a culinary highlight. Anyone who wants to experience real Sichuan cuisine and isn't afraid of a bit of spice should definitely add this restaurant to their list. A hidden gem for anyone looking for Chinese cuisine beyond the usual standards.

There are two of them quite close to each other. I was a bit confused because the one at the address stated on their website only opens at 6pm while their website says 5pm. The other one around the corner opens at 5pm but I wasn’t sure if they were really the same - the menus looked different. The food is good! Very spicy. Came back after 6 years. Ordered 水煮鱼， too salty. Otherwise it was good!

Tried mabo tofu and I completely diíappointed. Not worth the money

The food was overall good as a vegetarian we ordered fried rice and spicy tofu and it was delicious.

The waitress seemed annoyed as soon as we walked in. With a stern look and tone of voice, she told us to put our umbrellas down, which we did. She showed us where we could sit, and as soon as we were seated, she told us to hang our jackets around the corner. We ordered, but both of our dishes arrived spicy. We've eaten Chinese food before and know what it should taste like. The food wasn't as good as at other Chinese restaurants. We weren't asked once if we wanted anything else or if everything was alright. The hygiene could definitely be improved.

Worst Chinese food ever had. We ordered for 3 people. The employees are so lazy that they dont want to provide the clean vacant seating although the main was full and tried to fit us in. The waitress was like she didn’t wanted us to dine there. She looked irritated and didn’t had patience until we made the full order. We ordered Mongolian beef it was just some fried flour. So we ordered chilli chicken thinking it will be better but it tasted just like dried fish. We ordered chicken fried rice and they didn’t care to give us some chilli sauce or soy sauce until we asked. Will never recommend going there.

Please dont go here its not chinees food We eat in food came cold … They first bring the rice and after 15 min the meat??? And the restaurant was empty. What get wrong?

The food was pretty good. The experience was a little bit disappointing though. I was the only customer at that moment. I asked if I can sit on a bigger table so I can take some good photos of my food, but it was rejected by the waiter. I could understand if it was busy but the restaurant was not busy at all…

This restaurant has a very authentic feel, and the menu is endless! We keep coming back to try new dishes, and they've all been delicious so far. A small heads up for individuals who have difficulty eating spicy or oily foods—the sichuan kitchen is both of those.

I've been a frequent visitor of this restaurant for 3 years! Most authentic taste you can get in the Netherlands, less spicy than the original but feels more homely than any other Asian restaurant.

The late-night comfort food in Amsterdam's Red Light District was so comforting! It had been so long since I'd had Chinese food, and every dish—wontons in chili oil, twice-cooked pork, boiled fish, eggplant with garlic sauce, Sichuan fried rice—was a hit. The numbing, spicy, fresh, and fragrant flavors were all perfectly balanced; it wasn't some modified, fake Sichuan cuisine at all. My friends and I ate until we were stuffed, but we didn't want to put our chopsticks down. Eating such authentic Chinese food in a foreign land was such a joy! 😭 From the wontons in chili oil to the boiled fish, every dish was satisfyingly numbing and spicier—not some modified, fake Sichuan food! The warm, comforting dishes instantly dispelled the damp chill of the Netherlands. This is the right way to travel!

Insanely good food and super quick service despite being full! Sichuan Tofu Noodles - the noodles are made of thinly sliced, firm tofu and served cold. It’s refreshing and spicy. Sichuan Spicy Chicken - loved the tingly spicy flavors of the juicy slices of chicken. Sweet & Sour Chicken - this one surprised us! It was crunchy and extremely flavorful. Zheng Spicy Pork Wontons - the perfectly cooked wontons were tossed in a delicious spicy chilli oil and was addictively good! Chicken Fried Noodles - this was really good as well, but far too much sprouts for my liking. 10/10 food and I’ll definitely be back here whenever I visit Amsterdam.

Oh my what an absolute delight. I had sourced this restaurant before heading to Amsterdam and was not disappointed. In fact it was amazing. We lived in East China for 5 years, returning to Scotland in 2022 and we've never managed yet to find truly authentic Chinese food like we had there, missing all our favourite Chinese dishes. This restaurant however delivered and more, not only did we get to indulge in some of our favourite dishes we also got taken back to China and our many many happy memories. So the upshot is the food here was incredible, the staff lovely and accommodating and loved the decor. If you fancy truly authentic Chinese food, this is the place to go.

Every time I come back here, the food is just as amazing as ever! The flavors in every dish come through so well that you want more, and their extensive menu is great too; there is plenty of tasty options to choose from for everyone. Additionally, the staff are super busy, but they are always nice, and if they have time, they have a pleasant chat with you. Always worth a return visit.

Hmm, I am conflicted. When it started it’s super big portions and little expensive and delicious Now portions are like 3/4 of what’s before. So while it’s still nice I am less crazy about coming here

We ordered two dishes: tofu and beef, and spicy wontons. The tofu and beef, which cost 26 euros, was incredibly salty. Didn't the chef even taste it? The spicy wontons were 10 for 16 euros. If the filling had been bigger, I wouldn't have complained. I ate one, and it felt like I only ate the skin. I even wondered if there was any filling at all. I don't know what to say…

The food is authentic and the taste great. That staff speaks English and can help combine the dishes to make it more balanced. If you cannot take spicy or "numbing" you should tell the staff. There are many tourists but we entered the restaurant because we saw many Chinese patronising the restaurant. This mean the restaurant maintains a high standard.

Very nice and friendly ;place for high quality large portions of very tasty sichuan kitchen food. I am a regular and the food is always very good. Chill and relaxed ambiance even though it’s very busy outside.

The price of a menu for two people was advertised as €35. The "p.P." (per person) was written in tiny print next to it, obscuring the fact that the final price was €70. It's utterly absurd to advertise a fixed price so sensationally.

As someone who always struggles to have a fantastic food experience with plant based food, let me tell you, this place is gorgeous! I had so many options to choose, green beans and aubergines with crushed peanuts were so, so yummy!!! Definitely recommend!

The tofu and vegetable soup has no tofu and tastes like chicken broth. The vegetarian set was supposed to come with sichuan tofu and a vegetable dish but instead they gave me 2 vegetable dishes. I asked about the tofu and she said I had to tell her before hand (um maybe they’re should have asked?) Not worth $35. The waitress knew she did me dirty I could tell.

Yesterday, we ate at the China Sichuan Restaurant on Warmoesstraat with our children and our dog, Maya, and we were absolutely delighted. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and extremely well-organized. Despite the restaurant being packed, everything was quick and relaxed. The food was absolutely fantastic—fresh, beautifully presented, traditional, and truly authentic. A few of our dishes were marked with two chili peppers. They were incredibly spicy, but we tolerated them perfectly, even the next day. An authentic atmosphere in a small restaurant, fast service, and simply amazing taste. The prices were perfectly reasonable for the selection and quality. Eating here was a very good decision. We will definitely be back.

Amazing food. A friend based in Amsterdam took me here. Had dimsums, mala chicken and fried noodles. All of them bustling with flavour. Tad expensive, but with it.

There was a hair in my rice, and they insisted it wasn't theirs. They kept denying it. But I have blond hair. They gave me a different bowl later, but didn't offer any solutions. In the end, they even charged me for the rice.

The place is small so hard to move around. The food is good but be sure to know the food is authentic so it won’t be like American Chinese food. Like my sister did not like the soup due to the amount of chili oil they use. We did get ignored for a while so the service is ok but when we did get serviced it was fast and precise. I would recommend making a reservation since we had to wait 25 minutes due to no making one ourselves.

Seven people dined here, and every dish we had in those three hours was a breath of fresh air. I think it's by far the best Chinese restaurant in the Netherlands.

To be honest, our experience here wasn't exactly great. The food was really good, but the service was disappointing. We were served by a waitress with dark hair slicked back. She looked very neat, but she constantly frowned at us and seemed very impatient. There were two of us and we ordered quite a lot. If we didn't finish it, we'd simply have it wrapped up so nothing went to waste. But as soon as the staff saw how much we ordered, their reaction was clearly visible, and it didn't feel good. This immediately ruined the atmosphere, and we ultimately didn't really enjoy the food.
