To be honest, our experience here wasn't exactly great. The food was really good, but the service was disappointing. We were served by a waitress with dark hair slicked back. She looked very neat, but she constantly frowned at us and seemed very impatient. There were two of us and we ordered quite a lot. If we didn't finish it, we'd simply have it wrapped up so nothing went to waste. But as soon as the staff saw how much we ordered, their reaction was clearly visible, and it didn't feel good. This immediately ruined the atmosphere, and we ultimately didn't really enjoy the food.

Probably a family-run business. The waitresses had likely had a long day and seemed relieved to be finishing work soon. The food was absolutely delicious. Great selection and spectacularly flavorful. The ambiance is rather simple, but the food more than makes up for it.

The rice, ordered separately, was served in a very small bowl, with a strange smell and loose texture. The service was also poor. Communication was difficult, and I was forced to use English, making the experience uncomfortable. For this price, both the food quality and service were far below expectations. I would not recommend it. I had lunch at noon and spent €25.30 on a beef and potato rice dish, and the overall experience was terrible. Great location—only a few minutes’ walk from Amsterdam Centraal, which makes it super convenient. They were very busy when we arrived, but still managed to fit us in even without a booking. The food was a little on the pricier side, but definitely worth it. Everything we ordered were tasty and authentically Chinese. Service could be improved, as we did have to flag staff down a few times, but one of the team members—a smaller, quiet Asian woman was incredibly kind and attentive once she came over. Not sure where the negative reviews are coming from; the restaurant was clean and the staff were lovely. Overall, a solid spot for good Chinese food!

Authentic, incredibly delicious Chinese food. Some of the bad reviews are completely unfounded. The food was amazing. Yes, it's not cheap, but if you can't even spend a penny, you shouldn't go out to eat. And if you don't know anything about Chinese cuisine, it's bound to be difficult. For example, the food is placed in the middle of the table and shared. Of course, the dishes don't arrive at the same time, but at slightly different times. So what? The restaurant is nicely decorated, the service is perfectly fine, and yes, the restrooms aren't great. I would come back in a heartbeat for the fantastic dishes. My tip: Try the fish and meat.

Primary server taller than the other 2 servers was curt and hurried so customer facing job probably does not suit her. The other servers were great though. It is too bad that one person can affect and ruin the overall experience. Good food but probably won’t come back.

Authentic cuisine, a culinary journey; you can tell all the recipes are truly from there. I've never eaten so good in an Asian restaurant, and it's not even Asian, it's Szechuan! Excellent!

Staff were nice but unorganised rushing around after the loudest chinese woman in the place( a customer)and little interest in smaller tables, appetisers served 5 minutes after the main course. Spend some money on the place.

We went to this restaurant cause the smell of the food was so good. The food was okay, but so expensive for the quantity and quality. The worst of the restaurant is the service. The girl that was in the bar area and attending us was really rude, and we felt really uncofortable. I thought all the time we did something wrong because she was looking so bad to us, but definetly she is not happy working there, she didn't even set the table, she just put all the dishes and fork, spons in a corner of the table and we had to set it. I wouldn't recomend this. Also so many mosquitos were around the table.

Got at 12:00. The waitress gave us the menu, asked us for our drinks. After that she told us we would have to wait five minutes for our order as the chef was on his way. At 12:30 we asked to order our food, the waitress told us we would have to wait at least 10 more minutes. We left at that point to find another place, there was no excuse and she made us pay 8 euros for the bottle of water. Rude behavior.

The Food had way to much salt, it wasnt enjoyable. When I Talked to the Service, she told me that couldnt be, so in the end I had to Pay for the Food and got a extra Portion of rice without any other offer. Bad experience.

This place advertise that they were closed at 11:00 for Google, and they refuse to see and service although the restaurant was definitely open. Another patron was able to go inside, I'm not sure what the heck is going on but I never in my entire life will come back to this restaurant. Although I'm Amsterdam at least once every other year with this being my fourth visit. This is completely unacceptable and moralizing and so many other things that I don't want to describe right now. Restaurant completely sucks and you guys either need to do visit or go out of business, it's not okay. We ate here tonight before the food was actually pretty good service completely sucked, we were invited to dine.

Very very expensive not worthy. Don't understand what authentic food you are serving to keep the prices higher. Ordered just chicken dumplings of 8 pieces. But they are very small in size and price is 18.8 euros. Not acceptable.

The menu is fantastic — authentic, well-balanced, and full of dishes that capture the true essence of Sichuan cuisine. Every dish bursts with flavor, the spices are perfectly tuned, and the freshness and quality are remarkable. The team here is exceptionally friendly and genuinely passionate about what they do. Prices are more than fair for the quality and authenticity you get. I’ve been here several times already, and each visit has been consistently excellent. I’m already planning my next one for next week — that’s how good it is! A real hidden gem — especially for globetrotters who know how rare it is to find truly authentic Sichuan food outside of China. Highly recommended!

one of the best chinese food restaurants i have ever visited. we tried mongolian beef and chicken fried noodles with veggies and left very satisfied. the portions are big and the food is very tasty! the only thing i personally didn’t enjoy was the atmosphere since it was a bit hot and the tables aren’t really big enough for two people; you sit very close to the other people. overall, great experience and we will be back!

Who understands the stomachache of a Chinese person traveling to Europe? Luckily, I found this delicious Chinese restaurant. It's not overly marketed, and it's truly delicious. I recommend the Maoxuewang and Sichuan Liangfen (cold noodles). The portions are huge! The owner and staff are super nice.

Went to this restaurant, and gave us their massive, a hundred pages and 🤮 moldy(disgusting)menu and after 2 minutes, they asked what will our order be, like, bruh I just settled and have’nt even finished flipping 5 pages of your menu,🙄 I told them to wait for at least 5 minutes, then after a minute, they started asking again. 😡 Bloody annoying!!! Then when we are ready to order, I was told to wait because the chef needed to eat first. 🤯 This could’ve been our first meal of the day after a long haul journey. Honestly ridiculous!!!!! While I understand staff need breaks, this should be scheduled so customers aren’t kept waiting. First impressions matter, and this one wasn’t great. 😤 If you’re open for business, the kitchen should be ready to serve, not making customers wait while the chef takes a break!!! I was fuming & had to walk-out! Disappointing experience.

15 minutes between the rice and noodles arriving and the chicken dishes, obv these were cold, when we asked for fresh ones we were met with shrugs, when we pressed we were given plain rice, rather than egg fried rice but as one of our parties food had come before any of our other three we needed to eat and get to our boat trip. When the manager came to get paid we said we wanted the rice & noodles taken off the bill as they were cold and inedible, she was ageessive, said it was what we ordered and that we should understand they, Chinese, have a different culture and tough really. Food was good, pity the staffs attitude didn't match

Ordered 3 items. The chicken fries rice was served first and the starters was served 10 mins later. The chicken starters was nice and decent (giving 1 star just for this). The beef starter was just waste of money. Fully hard beef not even able to chew it. The restaurant is very dirty. Full of dust and many other particles on the floor. Just for three dishes they collected almost 68 euros. Atleast they could keep the restaurant clean. The service was ok. Overall not worth the money in all taste, ambience and service aspects.

First of all, the verdict is pretty average. I probably won't be returning!! The place is a bit sticky and the food is a bit pricey. The point is, although there are many dishes, I didn't feel any of them were spot on after ordering three. The taste wasn't very good. Foreigners might not be able to tell the difference, but Asians would definitely give it a thumbs up.

The food was awesome! We ordered chili chicken, another chicken fry, fried rice, chili prawns, and prawns dumplings. The dumplings were so yummy and the sauce, my goodness, must try! Yes, it is a challenge to get in, we had to wait for more than 30 minutes.It is highly recommended to reserve .

The food was delicious, but the service was a bit gruff, typical of "real" Chinese restaurants. It takes some getting used to having to order rice or noodles separately, unlike in typical Chinese restaurants.

Food was not bad. Nothing out of the ordinary

The food I had yesterday night was amazing. Some of the best Chinese I had in the Netherlands. The Mongolian beef and the sweet and sour pork were delightful. That beef had a certain crunchiness that was insanely delicious and surprising. But... there is a big but, and why I'm not giving 5 stars: the food is INSANELY salty. I drank a liter of water yesterday night because it was so salty and I still woke up multiple times with a dry mouth. I even had to wake up and go to the bath room for more water. In the morning, I woke up with dry eyes due to all the saltiness. I've never had that before, that's crazy. I won't come back, as good as it is, it's not worth a terrible night's sleep. It's super easy to fix. This level of salt is a health risk.

Good place for Sichuan food! If you don't know what to order, please try the following: mouth watering chicken! - It looks spicy and intense but it's not to spicy but flavourful and a bit numbing on the mouth! The chicken is very tender and the cucumber adds an extra crunch and freshness! Stir fried green beans! - full of garlic and smokeyness from the wok hei! There is chilli but don't be afraid it's not spicy! Braised sticky vinegar pork ribs- sticky, sweet and sour perfect to counter the spicyness from the other dishes! Overall very tasty and satisfying with the flavours and numbingness from the dishes! Compliment to the chef!!

I arrived here around 8 p.m., and I think the waitress who showed me to my table had already served about 200 people that day. I certainly got the impression she wasn't in the mood for more. As for the food, I had no complaints. Despite it being busy, I didn't have to wait long. And the chicken with sweet and sour sauce and sesame was certainly delicious.

The service at this restaurant is absolutely terrible. We arrived at 12:30 pm, right during lunch hours. The waiter simply threw the menu on the table without greeting us or even asking if we wanted drinks. We waited for 20 minutes, yet no one came to take our order. When we went to the counter, we found the staff leisurely eating snacks and telling us to wait, without the slightest apology. Even worse, when we asked a Chinese-looking staff member at the bar why no one was taking our order, he mocked us, saying: “If you can’t wait, come back tomorrow and I’ll take your order then.” On top of that, dirty dishes were piled up at the kitchen entrance, showing how poor the hygiene was. We left in anger. With such horrible service, it’s hard to understand why people still dine here. Think twice before coming — this place is not worth your time. The service attitude of this restaurant is extremely poor. We arrived at 12:30 pm, right at lunchtime, and the waiter tossed our orders on the table without a hello or a request for drinks. We waited 20 minutes, but no one came to take our order. When we reached the front desk, we found the waiter still idly snacking, making us wait even longer with no apology. Even worse, when we asked the Chinese male waiter at the bar why they hadn't taken our order, he scoffed, "If you can't wait, I'll take your order tomorrow." Such an attitude was appalling. The kitchen was piled high with dirty dishes, and the hygiene was appalling. I ultimately left in anger. With such poor service, I don't understand why anyone continues to patronize this place. I remind everyone to make their own judgment, this kind of restaurant is not worth wasting your time.

The ‘Sichuan spicy dumplings’ were absolutely delicious that I ended up having 2 serves … should have gotten the 10 pieces to begin with! A must have when here. Make sure to give it a good mix before you eat it - one waiter told me to but i saw another waiter didn’t bother telling the table next to me! Makes a difference!

Went to Amsterdam and found this little gem of a place, the staff was really friendly and helped explain dishes to us we had the beef hot pot and it was amazing! We have been trying to find something similar back home but cant. Might have to fly back just to eat here. Would recommend 100% and would say definitely try a new dish its worth it the flavours are banging

The food is excellent, the number of items on the menu is pleasantly shocking. The service was pleasant. The only downside: the air conditioning did not work. And the toilet was very hot and stuffy.

The food was amazing! We enjoyed a wide variety of traditional cuisines, all very flavourful. Please be mindful most of the dishes here are spicy. The service and atmosphere were good, but nothing spectacular - which is to be expected in this part of Amsterdam. Would I come here again? Without a doubt!

I know people can have hard day serving, but visiting restaurants means people expect at least a warm greeting. The serving team may fulfill their duty of bringing food but not truly serving. Fried foods are soaked in Oil, and couldn't eat after couple of pieces. And also other than Chilli pickle oil they don't have any more Dips to serve. Fried peanuts in Chilli chicken is more like fusion rather than authentic.

The boss is very nice. The food is very authentic. Highly recommended.

I never give a review in general, but there... abused, lunar, the service is HORRIBLE, the plates are thrown in your face, no smiles, a friend took a dish and the waitress brought it to her and 1 minute later, came to take it from her hands, left with no explanation, and brought her the same dish 1 minute later (it was the same plate because there was a piece of dirty ticket on the plate which was still there) then another friend took a starter and a main course and they brought him the main course then 30 minutes after the starter. I absolutely do not recommend it.

If you like spicy food, this is the place to be! The food was delicious and full of flavor. The vegetables were fresh, which really made a difference. Unfortunately, the hygiene was disappointing. The teacups were very dirty, and when I asked for a different one, it was just as bad. When I pointed it out, I was told “they’re all like that” – which is a bit strange. I ended up cleaning the cups myself. The place itself felt a little grimy and could definitely use a cleanup. That said, the food was genuinely tasty, and I might come back just for that.

The Sichuan flavor is strong, authentic, and generous, and goes well with rice~ The waiter was kind and reminded us not to order too much for two people😆 The only thing is that spicy food is prone to heat, so it would be better if it is cooled down by ventilation or air conditioning

So for 20 bucks, I'd rather go to the KFC next door and get a lousy bucket instead of having to sell half a kidney for three sliced chicken wings.

There's one absolutely no go: I had to pay for the doggy bag EUR 0,50 each. And I had to fill the food for my own on my table. Sorry, you will never ever see me again. That's not how you treat paying customers. Good luck anyway

Top chinese restaurant in Amsterdam

This restaurant is one of my favourites restaurants in Amsterdam. The atmosphere is cozy because of the Chinese inspired interior. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. Sometimes it takes a while before the food arrives specially when it’s busy. Regarding the food I actually always choose the beef hot pot and sweet sour prawns which are my favourite! 🔥🔥😋

The food was delicious! You order one dish and have to pay for the rice separately, but the rice portion is really large, easily enough for 2-3 people. It's clear that the dishes are prepared by someone who really knows Sichuan cuisine. The service, however, needs improvement. When we entered the restaurant, we waited 10 minutes before anyone even approached us. The lady who took our order made a mistake, bringing us two beers instead of one (fortunately, we didn't have to pay extra for that). Then the food was served without a word – no "delicious" or even a smile – she simply placed the dishes and left. There were only 3-4 tables occupied, so it wasn't a matter of rushing. In addition, one of the dishes was brought to our table. My dad started eating, as most of the dishes looked similar. After a moment, the waitress returned, took his plate, and said it was for another guest. After a few minutes, she brought the correct dish, didn't apologize, and didn't say anything nice. Fortunately, the second waiter was polite. The menu has photos of all the dishes, which is a plus, but there are so many that it becomes tedious, over 30 pages long. It would be better to put several dishes in one photo instead of three large photos on each page. Despite all this, I'm giving it 3 stars because the food was really tasty, and the portions were large and filling.

Was recommended this restaurant as one of the top 20 places to eat in amsterdam, but it simply wasn’t. Staff were quite rude and dismissive and handed us our bags off the floor after we had finished eating, it felt like we were being ushered out. Portion sizes were massive, but expensive. Great food & service. Took us in without reservations. Staff was friendly and accommodated my order for mapo tofu without beef. Only downside is the super tight space, other than that, its gold. Definitely a must try Szechuan style cuisine.

We were carving for chinese and spicy food and my friend's brother recommended us this restaurant since he visited just 2 months ago and found it to be authentic in taste. We went and food wise its really nice and authentic however I think the service standard has to we improved. The waitress there was not the most friendly kind though it seems like some of the service staffs in other places (JD especially) have the same attitude which was really annoying for customers. Would recommend anyone carving for sichuan / spicy food to visit and you won't be disappointed with the food. Portion is huge too so make sure you don't over indeed. 3 of us order just 2 dishes with white rice.

This was our last meal in Amsterdam, and it did not disappoint! Everything was super authentic, coming from someone who grew up in Hong Kong. The atmosphere is super cozy and well crafted. The menu is very extensive and for the large portion sizes and great quality the dishes seem well priced. I would definitely come here again if in Amsterdam! We ordered and thoroughly enjoyed the following dishes: 1. Chilli chicken 2. Vegetable fried rice 3. Fried wontons 4. Spring rolls

Excellent restaurant, judging by the number of Chinese people eating here, you can understand that this is the right place to eat Chinese food. Huge bowls of pieces in a sea of ​​sauce and oil. Pay attention before ordering to the degree of spiciness of the dish, which is marked with one to four peppers on the menu, see the picture of the peppers I removed from the plate, even one pepper is very spicy. The food is drenched in oil. The first 3 bites are good, but your mouth gets quickly overwhelmed by all the oil they put in and you get quickly full. The service is rude and the waitress didn't even smiled once. Chinese style service I guess. This was too expensive for the poor quality and service.

First time trying Sichuan food in Amsterdam and this place didn’t disappoint. The potato noodles was to die for. Mapo tofu was ok just not spicy and numbing enough for us compared to what we always had in whenever we went to Italy. But this restaurant was definitely one of the better ones in Holland especially compared to what we had in Den Haag. We may visit this again in the different branch today. Not quite surprising they have 3 branches here in Amsterdam. The place is quite small but it’s common in that area.

Lovely and authentic Sichuan cuisine !! Amazing flavours!! Generous portions!! A tad expensive...Efficiënt and Quick service by beautiful Yong Tsao from Tibet, who has been 8 times to Bylakuppe!! Would surely come back for food and Yong!!😀
