Chinese Restaurant Lai-Do in Zuidwest

Babi pangang and the duck are great. Modern and attractive restaurant.

In the past I was quite enthusiastic about Lai Do, for me it was one of the better Chinese. I was a bit disappointed with my last order, I recently went there for dinner. We had two rice tables. So many dishes for a more than fair price. However, the food had little taste, the staff hardly speaks Dutch and I could not hand in something like a dinner voucher (which you should simply hand in there) that evening because the boss was not there.

Very bad.. we ordered foejonghai with chicken with noodles to pick up.. We received half a cup of egg with a lot of sauce and when I called with my complaint the girl said I accidentally got the vegetarian one and we can deliver half a portion of just foejonghai WITH chicken without noodles. What kind of solution is that? Now we're half screwed or what? I said I'll give you a bad review... that girl says: oh it doesn't matter, we have enough customers anyway!?!???? I'm flabbergasted

I have been coming to Lai Do since I still lived with my parents in Kerkelanden. It was always one of the best Chinese restaurants in Hilversum and I ordered here often. But how things have deteriorated! Last time I didn't want to write but now I'm really done! Babi Pangang so very dry but the Bami, my God, the Bami! If I want dry boiled noodles, I will make them myself. There was nothing, absolutely nothing in it! A stray piece of leek and that was it! In the past, you would get a well-filled bowl of noodles with ham, leek, egg and pork. Even on top of that a slice of ham and a fried egg. Dirk van de Broek's Bami is better filled! Feel free to look at the photos of the noodles I received tonight, really scandalous! Dear Lai Do, this was the last time I ordered from you for a while. Unless you start paying more attention to good, filled noodles.

Picked up food. Sate Ajam (made too hot, was lumpy, burnt) Peking soup (stuff and hardly any taste) Sezuchan chicken in a spicy sauce (only tasted like garlic and way too spicy, inedible, thrown away!!!) Duck with sauce (duck top, sauce a disaster...) Unfortunately not recommended. We'll never go there again. It's a shame because we were so looking forward to it. According to the reviews it should be very tasty... we were probably very unlucky... The service was very friendly, hence the star

A very popular Chinese/Indian restaurant for years. Not without reason because of the consistently high quality of the food.

Very good food but sometimes busy

Been here to get food. The food is made with great taste. The takeaway list also includes dishes that you would not expect anytime soon. Plenty of choices to try.

The food was ok. Never experienced such a stingy restaurant before. The portions are very small. You can just see that much more fits in there. You pay so much money here for so little. Not recommended if you are hungry. Taste was probably mediocre so save your money and look elsewhere unfortunately.

Waiting way too long for your food

Whether you take it away or eat there at the restaurant, it is great and atmospheric, super nice service, what good food. Free parking and large parking spaces right in front of the door, it is located near a nice shopping center 👍🥂🙏

Yikes. Ordered Babi pangang. Seems like we had leftovers from the day before. Bland and tasteless. The nasi and noodles were fresh and tasted great.

The roasted duck is simply sublime! The skin is perfectly crispy and golden, while the meat inside is tender and bursting with flavor. Every bite is delicious. If you are a fan of roasted duck. I highly recommend you trying it.

We had a delicious meal. There is a very sweet little friendly lady who makes you happy😃.

All I can say is don't take tjap tjoy. Really too small a portion and little taste. Other dishes are really so much better and tastier!

Takeaway Food was cold, noodles were tasteless Peking duck limp, Dry fried shrimp dish, supposedly Cantonese not tasty!! 40 euros for two dishes is worthlessly bad! Maybe an average Chinese bite from this restaurant is okay, but anything else is certainly not recommended. I won't be back unfortunately.

Fantastically tasty Peking duck, incredibly good, portion could be a little more generous, but that is because it is so tasty. The rest of the food was also very tasty and served by friendly ladies, I would recommend going there more often.

The Peking duck was very dry and tasteless. Lay on a bed of white cabbage. My table companions had a nice meal. Despite a total of 4 tables occupied, it took a very long time before we were served. There were enough staff present. The table we were sitting at looked out onto an unpleasant dark space where the delivery people in jackets wait for the next order to be delivered. Too bad it used to be a much better restaurant.

Ordered by phone from Lai-Do on Christmas Day. Unfortunately, the order was not completely delivered, but after a short phone call, action was taken quickly and the remaining part (plus some extras) was delivered very quickly in a Tesla. It was still so warm that we could hardly open the container. As for the food in a word; Delicious! As far as we are concerned, top food and service, even on a day like Christmas Day.

Food was cold and not tasty, ordered earlier it was fine but now it looked like a bowl of smurri, the noodles pan course, too bad for my visitors for the time being No more lai do, cannot be reached by phone, in short, a big minus

Saturday spring rolls bestedl and babi pangang and satay. However, the spring roll chicken is a spring roll filled with bean sprouts, chicken is hard to find, while the spring roll was very tasty in the past! Babi pangang was one mess that we think just came from a pan with sauce or was thrown together what was left was just disgusting!!! After trying again twice, this was the last time we ordered from here! 🤮

jammer dat de gerechten veel kleiner zijn en ook kroepoek zit er niet meer bij.

Nog een van de weinige Chinees restaurants die Hilversum rijk is. De zaak zelf ziet er uiterst verzorgd uit. De keuze uit gerechten is behoorlijk en zijn ook lekker. In feite was er maar een dame die de bediening hoofdzakelijk deed. En met een volle zaak was het af en toe letterlijk rennen voor haar om te doen wat gedaan moest worden. Bewondering omdat de temperatuur tegen de 30 graden liep.

Het eten was heerlijk alleen jammer dat het lauw was in zomer niet zo erg verder hebben we genoten

We waren hier met 5 personen, het eten was matig en niet erg warm toen het opgediend werd, zeker niet voor herhaling vatbaar

Lai Do is als Chinees restaurtant een andere weg ingeslagen. Hun gerechten zijn meer van deze tijd dan de traditionele Chinees die wij gewend waren. Gerechten hebben vaak een wat andere samenstelling en smaakbeleving. Fijn om hier te bestellen in de afhaal. Men brengt je ook netjes op de hoogte als bijvoorbeeld door drukte een bezorging langer gaat duren.

Hebben er heerlijk gegeten en gedronken met acht personen en ondanks de drukte was het even wachten echt de moeite waard de garnalen waren heerlijk en de kip en de biefstuk was super echt een aanrader voor iedereen

Heerlijk kantonese rijstafel menu gehad. Vriendelijke bediening. Menu kaart is zeer uitgebreidt en ook aparte dingen staan erop, zoals hotpot. Hoe ze dat serveren, weet ik niet. Een mooi moderne interieur, voor de deur genoeg parkeer mogelijkheden.

Good dining and nice simple food. We really enjoyed the (oiled) sambal, it felt like fighting and dancing with the devil at the same time. Good ambiance, service and people. Het is hier altijd lekker eten met goede bezorgservice. Het eten werd op tijd bezorgd en ik kreeg een goede en grote portie aanrader dus.
