Nice place for a drink or lunch. Walks, scavenger hunt. Indoor and outdoor terrace. A small mistake was resolved properly. Recommended for children as well.

Just had an iced coffee at the Boswachter and have never had such bad iced coffee as the one from the Boswachter in Erp! Lukewarm coffee, ice cubes instead of real ice, and you couldn't taste the caramel flavor at all, and then they dare to charge 7.00 euros for it too, really unbelievable, I'm never going there again! Cozy spot with a playground right by the woods. Tasty lunch options. However, the terrace was, so to speak, full, and we couldn't reserve a spot either. We were allowed to ‘grab a table if one became available’. The water section of the playground was turned off, even though that is the main attraction for families with children. There was no response to the question of whether the water was on. The toilets are a bit cramped if you have to wait.

We had reserved for 12 and still haven't received our food, and it is 2 o'clock so we have no idea what the food is like. We also didn't get drinks once, which is a real shame, but the surroundings are beautiful!

DETAILED REVIEW: We reserved for 12:00, but by 1:30 we had only had one round of drinks and our food still hadn't arrived. A table that arrived an hour later already had food before we were even asked for a second round of drinks. We also ordered cauliflower soup; according to the menu, this was the seasonal soup, but when we received it, it turned out to be asparagus soup. The waitress was acting like she had brass knuckles when we ordered because there was no cauliflower soup. They also made a mistake with an order, meaning one person didn't get the right food. The food was fine, but expensive for the quality you get. Something also went wrong during payment; extra items were added that we hadn't ordered, but fortunately, this was eventually resolved. The toilets were also very dirty and half-broken. Not a place I would return to for lunch, though the nature here is beautiful.

Beautiful location, delicious food

What a fantastic location where you can combine sport with pleasure. In the summer, there's a cozy, large terrace. We'll definitely sit there sometime, but now it's winter. And with this snow, it looks absolutely magical. The food is delicious and the portions are generous. The original forester's cottage is still there, and there's also some historical information, which I always appreciate! If my story hasn't convinced you yet, you should definitely go and see for yourself. You won't regret it!

We enjoyed a lovely winter walk through "Het Hurkske" with our MTB club. Afterwards, we enjoyed a delicious lunch with nine people. The lunch and the service were excellent. Definitely worth repeating.

A pleasant place to grab a bite to eat or drink after a walk. Unfortunately, the staff isn't very adept at cleaning, taking orders, etc., but I think that's because they've hired a lot of new, young staff.

We had an à la carte lunch on Christmas Day with a reservation. We received a warm welcome with a lovely gift, and the dishes were, as always, spot-on! Despite the crowds, both the kitchen and the service seemed to function like a well-oiled machine. That must have been a great pep talk beforehand 💪. We certainly had a wonderful time and give our sincere compliments to the team! We will definitely be back ☺️

We went for a walk this morning and had a nice drink at the Boswachter. The walking route from 't Hurkske is very clearly marked! The surroundings are beautiful too! There's a cozy little place to have a drink. We ordered a pumpkin spice latte, a cappuccino, and a brownie stroopwafel. It's also great that they offer alternative milks for people with milk intolerances. I have no idea what the lunch tastes like, but it all looks delicious!

The menu pleasantly surprised us: right in the heart of Brabant, the Limburg dish Zoervleis was on the menu. For us, as Limburgers, the choice was easy — and what a fantastic dish! Too busy when we were there beautiful Sunday afternoon.

Sat here for drinks for the second time, and again had to wait at least half an hour. Finally, I had to get the waitress to order. They even helped other customers who had just been seated first, instead of us. This is due to them not looking and staring around inactively. It could really be better, and it's not because they're busy, but because they're not working efficiently. I think they're losing a lot of regular customers because of this. Before the takeover, I came every week, and now I only go once a year, when I'm helped. Because otherwise, I'd go home without ordering anything...

We had to wait a very long time for them to take the decision, and then we had to wait another 30 minutes for coffee and tea. The food took at least an hour to arrive. And it wasn't all served at the same time. And I don't think the waitresses were particularly enthusiastic. It was very difficult to smile, and you had to ask them to take the empty container with you. They could make something really nice out of it. Because the food was good. I hope it goes better and faster next time.

There's plenty of room for children to play, both indoors and outdoors. You can also keep a close eye on them from the terrace. We had lunch here and both had the flatbread (pulled chicken and Italian), which was delicious and definitely worth repeating. The tomato soup was also good, with a bit of a kick. I can also recommend the lemonade; I had the lavender with lemon. Nice and refreshing and a bit different than usual. The children enjoyed a sausage roll, which was also delicious. We'll definitely be back and definitely recommend it (in good weather) with children!

Nice place. Plenty of parking. Nice terrace and playground. It is located in the forest. We booked the Forest Escape here for a large group. That is very nice, for both children and adults (mixed) this was a successful adventure. You are busy with it for 2 hours and make a nice walk. We also had coffee with cake, a lunch and then a drink with a bittergarnituur. Everything neatly taken care of, good taste and served with a smile. I can recommend going here once and certainly to do this activity for a family day, for example.

Nice place to start or end a walk. You can sit outside, just outside or inside. Space to play for children. Delicious different types of tea on the menu. Ginger tea with orange or 'dirty' chai latte (this contains a shot of espresso) are definitely recommended. In a display case were the pastries to go with coffee (or tea of ​​course), of which the apple pie looked delicious. Staff friendly. Sanitary facilities looked neat. Parking is possible next to the De Boswachter site and is free. Ideal for a nice chat with someone or to enjoy something tasty or a healthy meal after a walk with your family. Ok I was here on a Saturday and it was pretty good, but I came on Sunday and my group waited 45 minutes for our drinks and we still missed one, we didn't even want to order snacks so we paid and left (we had chocolate milk with whipped cream and when we got it the whipped cream looked like it had been there for at least 5 minutes and it was no longer warm)

Location is very nice including the decoration. Despite being fairly quiet, the service was slow. Pulled chicken sandwich was black. Second attempt was better, but given the price it was poor and substandard. My wife had the madder sandwich which was good.

Bad service, it all took a very long time. Order also went wrong. Price performance disproportionate. We won't be going back for a while.

We like to visit the Forest Ranger in the summer. Lovely on the terrace. Friendly staff. Now for a high tea. Delicacies with high tea are excellent. We found that a downside was that we had to pay for the coffee separately at checkout (without being told in advance). At most restaurants you can choose from coffee or tea without an additional charge.

Upon arrival we were assigned a table next to the new children's playground. I indicated that I had reserved a spot under the veranda, so we had to make a switch. Very nice if you don't want to be surrounded by the hustle and bustle of the kids who are of course happily playing there. We are helped quickly with food and drinks. However, the pulled chicken sandwich was a bit disappointing. Without fries it looked pretty poor for lunch. So we still ordered the fries. These stayed away for more than half an hour, after which we received an apology and they still appeared on the table. All in all a very nice place to have a cup of coffee. But we will have a quiet, hearty lunch elsewhere from now on :) The service itself was very nice!

Very nice to be able to have lunch here after a walk in the woods. However, the price-quality is not in balance. More than 55 euros for 2 fries with mayo, a sandwich with 2 croquettes and a meager salmon salad with 4 drinks, I thought was quite expensive.

You can sit there very cosy, relaxed on a covered terrace and have the large garden to watch with the children playing. Delicious food and helpful service

What a wonderful environment to enjoy lunch. It is a real family terrace with groups and families whose children enjoy the play facilities. The lunch itself tastes good but not above average. Apparently there is a shortage of staff here. Although those present are very understanding, people often ask how long it will take. A waiting time of nine hours is the rule rather than the exception for lunch that is too long. So it's useful to bring good conversation partners. Orders are also incomplete. In short, there are still many improvements to be made, the place is worth it.

The controls really need to be trained a bit better; orders are not coming and I regularly see those girls with a tray looking around to see where it should go. A bit of a headless chicken idea. We had a wonderful time at the Forest Ranger yesterday afternoon. We celebrated our 85th birthday there with our entire family (children, grandchildren and even three great-grandchildren, a total of 27 people). From 3 to 7 we were provided with coffee and cake in a pleasant manner, followed by drinks and various delicious snacks. Towards the end we also received a delicious wild mushroom or tomato soup of our choice. We have nothing but praise for the service, very friendly and very attentive. It was a pleasure, there is no better place than the forester's. The older ones were well catered for and the little ones had a great time in the beautiful play area.
