De Helden van Kien in Sint-Oedenrode

Top location. We thoroughly enjoyed the sophisticated menu. We tried several dishes and (almost) all were perfect. I would have liked a fish knife for the sole, and I couldn't find the pepper sauce for the tenderloin with pepper sauce. Some of the oysters had small pieces of shell in them. But all in all, the six of us tried about 30 dishes, and the other 27 were perfect. The same goes for the service: friendly, occasionally with a joke, efficient, and prompt. There was also a wedding, so we had a slightly longer break between main courses, but certainly not excessively. And yes, the surroundings were beautiful and the atmosphere was very pleasant. It was a bit chilly, but the patio heaters didn't bother us. And... finally (I consider that a calling card), the restrooms were beautiful and very clean.

Unfortunately, I had to ask for the menu myself; the staff were too busy chatting with each other and weren't paying attention to the service. So I ordered a main course for €14.50, far too little food for a main course. I ordered dessert for myself, namely Liège water, with cherries, ice cream, and a waffle. I got one canned cherry, one tiny scoop of ice cream, and a mini waffle on a small plate, all for €6. Afterward, I said something to the staff that there were cherries (plural) on the menu. I got an indifferent response, like, "I'll pass it on to the kitchen, well, they won't be seeing me again."

Beautiful location and outdoor terrace. We opted for the all-you-can-eat option. Everything we ordered looked and tasted delicious. We will definitely be back.

It was fully booked. I took a chance and luckily found one table available just beforehand. It turned out they'd blocked it off to ensure a good staff-to-guest ratio. We opted for sophisticated food. Portions were more than generous. Nothing to complain about.

"Sophisticated dining"—what a beautiful concept! It was delicious. Plenty of choices, something for everyone. And you have the opportunity to try everything. Certainly not huge portions, but rather multiple dishes. Everything was beautifully presented on the plate, a feast for the eyes. Furthermore, the service and the setting made the evening a success.

The concept is very unclear; you can choose "all you can eat" or à la carte. The only difference is the price. With "all you can eat," you have a fixed price, while with à la carte, you pay per dish. These are the same small dishes as with "all you can eat," and they're all served immediately. As a result, I got an appetizer, and my wife and son got the main course. That would mean I would be the only one getting a main course, and my family would have to wait until I finished eating. We didn't find this very pleasant, so we ordered dessert together, and I went home hungry and with an unpleasant evening. You could also order a chared dinner. We thought this would be a nice way for my wife and me to try different dishes together. But this was only possible if my son also wanted to eat this, but he wanted a different dish. We found this concept very unclear! And during this entire time, they never once asked us if we wanted a drink! So, we wouldn't recommend it! But honestly, what we did eat was really delicious!

What a fantastic spot! The large terrace overlooks the canoe pond and playground. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and efficient. The poke bowl was delicious! So was the goat cheese salad and flammkuchen.

We had a wonderful evening! The restaurant's organization was incredibly well-thought-out, including the way orders were taken. The quality of the food was excellent, and the selection was fantastic. We had someone who eats gluten-free and vegan, and that was perfectly taken care of. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely be back.

The location is beautiful on the edge of the Kienehoef nature park. The terrace was quite full, but the staff were always quick to take orders, bring food and drinks, etc. Kudos to them for that. We ate à la carte, and they mention that the portions are smaller than usual. With a few side dishes, it was sufficient, delicious, and affordable. We had a pleasant few hours!

Beautiful location. Too far to walk for people with disabilities or the elderly. I was there with an elderly person who had difficulty walking. There was a disabled restroom on the same floor. All other restrooms were downstairs, down a narrow spiral staircase.

What a lovely location and a beautiful park surrounding it! The service is also very friendly and will chat with you if there is time. The food was also very tasty. We had lunch and dinner there and both were very tasty and well-prepared. The chefs who enjoy their work, you can tell.

At De Helden van Kien they have created a beautiful nature park in which a petting zoo (with delicious coffee and cookies) and several playgrounds have been realized. Both toddlers and slightly older children can do well here. After we had visited the playgrounds and went back to the restaurant via the ferry over the water, we concluded our visit with a lunch. I had a luxury fish salad that was very good.

Ate a truly delicious 4-course surprise menu here via Social Deal. Extremely tasty, a feast for the mouth and eyes! So the low rating is certainly not the chef's fault; pure compliments for the chef! But what we were not happy with was that the waitress (otherwise a very sweet girl) completely forgot about us between the soup and the main course. After an hour and fifteen minutes of patient waiting, she finally caught her attention. Turns out she forgot to enter it into the computer. Ultimately received 2 drinks on the house as an apology. So in itself a good solution, but... not really a good turn. As far as food is concerned, it is highly recommended. It is extremely remote, accessible via narrow winding roads, so without Social Deal we would never have ended up here spontaneously. The restaurant looks large, but because it has all the corners, you are not sitting in a massive room. It looked nice.

Nicely designed restaurant by the pond and regional park. Various dining concepts from daily special to evening tapas meal. Good quality and portions. Excellent team of young employees who serve friendly and efficiently. The kitchen also ensures that the order is on the table within a very acceptable time. For the first time we had lunch at the Helden van Kien, we had chosen the Helden lunch platter. It was delicious and more than enough. For us definitely to come here more often.

The food was tasty and simple, exactly what we expected. The service could have been a bit more structured — we had to wait quite a while before we could place our order. It seemed like the staff were busy but didn’t really know where to prioritize. With a bit more organization and attention, this restaurant could really offer a nice experience.

What a gem of a place in St. Oedenrode. We had made a reservation in advance. This is really a must because the terrace was completely full on this sunny Saturday. We wanted a chicken sandwich but at 13:00 the chicken was already gone, hence the 4 stars. Small menu but deliciously prepared with lots of love. Service is very friendly and fast.

Dit restaurant zit op een mooie locatie. De kwaliteit van de gerechten is goed, de hoeveelheid soms (veel) te weinig. Bijvoorbeeld de varķenshaasfilet is veel te weinig. Een punt dat echt ondermaats is, is de bediening. Een grote chaos. Tafels worden niet afgeruimd. Zelfs na de dessert stonden er nog soepkommen, borden van het hoofdgerecht en glazen van het eerste drankje op tafel. Dit hebben we eerdere familiefeesten precies zo ervaren. Het is dus geen toeval. Ook nu ging er vanalles fout. Er werd een keer een glas Rosé gebracht terwijl we de hele middag geen rosé hadden besteld. In plaats dat dat glas werd meegenomen werd het op een tafel naast ons gezet, waar het een hele tijd heeft gestaan. Bij het hoofdgerecht werd ons ook niet verteld dat we er apart groente of friet konden bij bestellen. Pas bij het uitserveren van het hoofdgerecht zagen we dat (en dat het weinig was). Toen heeft iedereen nog friet bijbesteld.

It is a very cozy, beautiful place! Beautiful location. However, the service is sometimes very slow. You always have to beckon someone, because then no one is walking on the terrace. When someone walks, they don't look around. Furthermore, the dishes were brought to our table and the fries only arrived when we had already finished the dishes... They apologized for this, because it had been 'forgotten'. A little more attention to service would be good. Furthermore, the food was very tasty!

Eten was lekker en bediening goed, maar wij waren niet tevreden over de portie grootte in combinatie met de prijs. Tijdje terug bij Helden van Kien geluncht, toen erg tevreden. Diner echter totaal geen aanrader. Wij hadden al la carte besteld. Op de kaart staat dat de porties kleiner zijn. Dat is prima, maar dan moet de prijs ook passend zijn. De pannenkoek bij het diner was veel kleiner dan die bij de lunch, terwijl die bij de lunch slechts € 0,50 duurder was. De portie spareribs van de reguliere kaart (€ 14,50) was even groot als de portie van de kinderkaart (€ 6,50). Bij de kindervariant zat ook friet, bij de volwassen kaart kon je friet los bijbestellen voor € 3. Als je 2 kinderen porties had besteld, had je meer eten voor minder geld. De verhouding klopte dus totaal niet. De truffelburger was lekker, maar erg basic en te klein voor de prijs (€ 14,50). Het al la carte menu is echt overpriced.

We visit the Heroes of Kien more often. However, this time it was very disappointing. The food was sub-par. The asparagus was as hard as raw vegetables and the bavette was tough. We did get a new sign, but you would still get some kind of apology. We were a group of 4 and everyone had already finished their food so the 4th person got a new plate. Very unfortunate! In addition, the portions were so small that I ordered an extra soup because I was still hungry after the main course. The portions have really been adjusted in size, which is a shame.

We ended up at the Helden van Kien through Jumbo dinner vouchers, but definitely a place to go back again. The menu was not extremely extensive, but something for everyone. And what was on the menu was prepared very tasty!

Woon al geruime tijd niet ver van deze locatie vandaan, maar nog nooit gegeten. Afgelopen weekend voor het eerst daar gegeten met vrienden. Locatie is top, bediening is top. Vriendelijk, behulpzaam en gezellige babbel. Het eten was uitstekend te noemen. Mooie porties, mooi opgediend en uitstekend van smaak. De kaart biedt voor ieder wat wils. Vlees, vis of vegetarisch. Voor een gezellig avondje uit met goed eten kan ik deze aanraden. Deze locatie is daardoor toch in mijn top 3 geslopen.

The Heroes of Kien is located in a beautiful location. The staff is friendly and quite young. I had made a reservation with a friend for lunch on Friday March 7 at 11 am. That went wrong online due to an error on my part and it was resolved very quickly and friendly by telephone. On the day itself it always took quite a while before someone came to our table. It is always quite busy, so we could understand that. What we didn't like very much was that a sign saying 'Reserved 2:00 PM' was suddenly planted on our table. So we felt rushed and unwelcome. When I asked the waitress if she wanted us to leave, she happily replied that that was certainly not the case. She did ask "What do you mean?" When I replied that it was about the reservation sign that suddenly appeared on our table, she laughed it off a bit. The sign has remained, but our 'rushed' feeling has remained. Shame. Furthermore, the staff was friendly, but couldn't this sign have been put down after we got up? This is why we didn't tip...

Het is een heerlijke locatie Maar terras in verhouding veel te klein, zeker bij mooi weer. Wij hadden 2 koffie en appelpunt besteld.. Schandalig klein puntje werd het.... met van die spuitbus slagroom die in de zon meteen oplost! Koffie was ook niet heel erg warm. Maar wel de hoofdprijs moeten betalen Heel jammer dit, doet voor ons wel afbreuk

If you want to eat with a group in a relaxed setting, 'De Helden' is the place to be. With the menu option 'delicious dining' you can eat unlimited starters, main courses and desserts. All equally tasty. I definitely have to go back for the options I haven't had a chance to eat yet. And, not unimportantly, a nice beer list. When the weather is nice you can also sit outside here.

Went to try it with a group of 10 people on the advice of friends. The drinks went well. The first dish was also fine. Then the venison came to the table very cold. You might say that it can happen, but the next order was no better and the other meat was just cold. Except for the chicory with ham, which was very hot, which was inedible because it could not be cut even with a steak knife! To make matters worse, one person had long hair of approximately 30 cm in her food, which caused the person to vomit. We also sometimes had to wait half an hour to 40 minutes for the food between dishes. When the host asked at checkout if everything was to your liking, these points were indicated. His response was, I'll pass it on! And that was no excuse, nothing. They will never see us here again.

And the food was delicious, for a super relaxed price of 64 euros for the two of us. Including everything. The service was super friendly and the food was of very good quality. we will definitely go back again. You can also enjoy a beautiful walk there and then finish with a lunch or dinner. Per mail klacht ingediend , word niet op gereageerd , telefonisch contact gehad met bedrijfsleider vond het zeer betreurend zou het oplossen , niets gehoord zelf weer gebeld zouden een terugbel verzoek neer leggen , niet gebeld en zo tot 3 keer toe , weer terug bel verzoek bedrijfsleider was in bespreking zou me terug laten bellen , en ja hoor medewerkster belde terug om me een tegoedbon aan te bieden van 20 euro , mocht ik op komen halen , schandalig meneer kon me niet effe terug bellen moest naar afspraak , heeft geen 2 minuten tijd voor bellen met een klant Dank je wel Jurgen voor de nette afhandeling pffff slecht .
