Great Cheese Bar in Maastricht. Good variety of cheeses to choose from, with fresh bread. The staff here were very good and knowledgeable and I asked them to choose a selection of cheeses to try and all were exceptional. The apple syrup was a nice touch, which added another flavour.

This is definitely a must-try... Cheese & Cheese, but especially the Onion Soup!! We've never, ever had such a delicious onion soup... The broth is rich and spicy, topped with a very flavorful roquefort cheese! Super cozy and very friendly service. An absolute "must-go" in Maastricht. Within walking distance of Onze Lieve Vrouwenplein.

Warm, welcoming staff (Latitia and Jannik, two marvelous angels knowing everything about cheese and bier 😉) and a cozy atmosphere make De Kiesebar a must-visit in Maastricht. I had a Paix Dieu — a heavenly beer, rich and perfectly poured. The cheese selection was excellent, with top-quality picks from Belgium and the UK. My only small regret? Very few Dutch cheeses on offer — I was hoping to discover more local flavors. Still, the overall quality was so high that it hardly mattered. A true gem for beer and cheese lovers!

Nice bar in the centre of Maastricht, with an amazing atmosphere in (what I think personally) the nicest street of Maastricht. Good for some nice wine and cheese but also really nice to have a drink at night!

Received the tip to go here when visiting Maastricht. Upon arrival, the reception was quite stiff to say the least. During the course of the evening, unfortunately, when serving, the wine was accidentally thrown over us without a batting an eyelid. from the service let alone an apology, but the biggest surprise came when the bill arrived. We had ordered a bottle of wine that was unfortunately no longer in stock but was on the bill as well as a previously ordered beer, by the way, the cheese that came to the table was delicious.

While the ambiance held potential, the service overshadowed any positives. The woman working at the bar was unprofessional and dismissive which made the overall experience uncomfortable.hopefully this feedback is taken constructively to improve the training, professionalism of its team and include maybe some basic standards of politeness in their menu.

Great place to enjoy good cheeses and wine. They have several sample plates to choose from. All good as far as I have experienced. I also love they are open very late at night.

What returns regularly is a visit to this cheese bar. The friendly service, the choice of cheese boards that can be combined with sausage, etc. Well thought-out combinations with ditto beer, etc. The foie gras is also of excellent quality. The music is great, in short everything is right in this bar, I just say go, they know what they are doing here!

Cheese tasting done here with my friend with both beer and wine. Both variants were exceptional and each course was explained very nicely by the waitresses. As icing on the cake we had the onion soup and it was very tasty. Highly recommended!!

Wine and cheese, what can go wrong? Absolutely nothing it turns out. You choose from different cheese plates (all €28 each) and they come with plenty of bread and Stroop syrup. The waiters were fantastic and I found the Chardonnay to be particularly good value for €6.50 a glass.

When we were there it was quiet (early in the afternoon), small terraces at the front but cozy inside. Until 10 p.m., cheese, beer or wine are the right combos together. After that it becomes a "normal" cafe. Pleasant people behind the bar and in the service

I had dinner here with a friend on a Saturday afternoon. The bar is cozy and innovatively decorated, the atmosphere and service are very good. On top of that, the dishes are also top notch. There is a choice of 23 cheese dishes. We jointly chose four, with special combinations such as matured water buffalo cheese with white chocolate and blue cheese with chocolate chip cookie. A well-matched wine. I am a fan!!

A really good place for a cheese tasting, they even have a local cheese that brings happiness and joy to my heart. Service was really nice and overall me and my friends had a really good experience. One of the spots that I enjoyed the spots I enjoyed the most as it doesn't try to do too many things at once. Cheese drinks and a good place to chat with friends.

We loved this small bar. Ic and Flic say it has a proper pub vibe. Very limited outside seating on the cobbled street but not in use on a damp "summer!" July Friday. Stayed for two 0.5l Brand beers. Madge on rosé wine. Ordered a cheeseboard. Yummy. They also do a very tempting onion soup with lots of cheese. Very atmospheric bar. Great visit.

Excellent cheeses and friendly staff. Wide variety of choice also in terms of wines (Italian, French, Californian and Spanish). Ask for Mauro, a Dutch waiter with an Italian mother, who will be able to advise you on beers and cheese.

Cozy little bar in Maastricht. We sat at the bar and tried a small selection of draft beers and there was also a small, very tasty tapas platter. The service was quick and friendly.

Super cozy, hospitable, nice atmosphere!

The customer service in this place is the worst in all of Maastricht. The waiter always had an angry face and his way of explaining seemed like he was scolding. If you want to be treated well, please don't go there.

It was our first time in Maastricht and we also came across De Kaasbar where we were rewarded with a very nice waitress. She recommended an excellent cheese platter and beer, we will definitely make another visit next time we visit Maastricht. Thank you for the mega service. Wij zijn met vrienden een avondje vriendelijk geholpen door Dirk. We hebben een proeverij gehad met geweldige uitleg over alle kazen en dranken. De smaken matchten heel goed met elkaar. Voor een vriendin die later was werd er een kleiner bordje klaargezet. Kortom een echte aanrader. We hebben ons 5 kostelijk vermaakt.

I had already heard many good things about the Cheese Bar, but despite the high expectations I was still positively surprised. The cheese and wine tasting consisted of very successful combinations and the staff was friendly and provided clear explanations for each round. Combined with a good atmosphere, it was enough reason to do one more round of tasting.

A must visit if you are a cheese lover

Super friendly service, even for us tourists. Super tasty wine and freshly tapped beer. We asked for a cheese recommendation and he asked us whether we preferred hearty or mild and then a small cheese platter was put together for us, which was incredibly delicious. We will be back.

We were searching for a nice place to eat in the evening and found a cosy spot in the corner of the Kaasbar. We had delicious cheese and wines. Really good service, very kind and professional people who work there. 1 thing could have been better, and thats the mold in the toilet.

Good atmosphere, service and food. Highlight in Maastricht

A small, cozy bar where the main focus is cheese, hence the name. There is a selection of excellent wine and also beer on tap. Of course, cheese should not be missing - there are enough varieties. We had an excellent onion soup, foie gras and a small selection of cheeses, a bottle of Sancerre topped it off. Everything tasted very good, we can recommend it. We will definitely come back.

The onion soup is so good!! I always come back for their cheese and the ability to make your own cheese platter, so good! And they serve Paix Dieu which is a win win. Service was a bit slow and not enchanting, and we waited for the food more than 20 mins, that was the downside.

Op een vrijdagavond hier geweest, wauw! Super leuke sfeer. Komen uit het midden van het land maar wil graag hier nog een keer overdags wat kaas komen proeven. De heren die hier werken hebben verstand van gezelligheid en hebben er een leuke avond van gemaakt! Hart voor de zaak in mijn optiek.

Heel attent om ook een 9-maanden kaasplank te hebben. Daardoor was onze keus snel gemaakt en wat waren de kaasjes lekker! Voor mij met passende Grand Cru’s, een waar feestje.

Noch nie so guten Käse gegessen! Bin echt begeistert von dem gesamten Restaurant, dem Konzept und gemütlichen Ambiente. Als eigene Mahlzeit oder auch zum Teilen geeignet. Ich komme sehr gerne wieder!

Es gibt nichts Schlimmeres bei leeren Gläsern nicht gefragt zu werden. Zudem sitzt man, wenn es voll ist, sehr gequetscht.

Leuk tentje en goeie kaas. Advies over de wijnen was de tweede keer tikkeltje minder. Verbeterpuntje zou kunnen zijn om iets meer comfortable stoelen te kiezen. Helaas (zoals wel meer tentjes in de Koestraat) loopt de weg naar beneden af. De zithouding is niet echt comfortabel. Misschien langere poten aan de voorkant van de stoelen?

Wauw, wat een verrassing! Als 2 echte kaas- en wijnliefhebbers konden wij in ons weekend Maastricht deze zaak niet overslaan. En wat hebben we genoten: enorme gastvrijheid, enorme keuze in kaas en wijn. Echt, een reden om een nieuw weekend Maastricht snel in te plannen!

Kaas drijft hier de business, even als de lucht bij binnenkomst. Laat je hier vooral niet door afschrikken, dit is een geweldige plaats om vrienden en bekenden mee te imponeren. Geweldig is de proeverij. WSET1 leert dat een kaasplank nooit met één wijn te paren is. Met de proeverij wordt bij ieder van 5 kazen een bijpassende wijn geserveerd. Probleem opgelost, aanrader dus. En dat in het gezelligste straatje van Maastricht.

The cheeses were delicious and the waiter serving us made it such a fun and enjoyable night. It was more than just having some cheese; it was an *experience*. I would highly recommend it to anyone (and will make sure to come back the next time we are visiting Maastricht).♡

Hier kun je uit een enorme sortering heerlijk kaasjes kiezen met een goed glas wijn - of lekker biertje erbij. Voor eventjes of voor een hele avond.. Kan allemaal.

Prima en origineel concept. Mooie gezellige bar/restaurant waar je lekkere kazen met prima wijn of bier kunt nuttigen. Zeker de moeite waard.

De titel spreekt voor zich. Heerlijke combinatie van kaas en bier. Eveneens bijzonder vriendelijk personeel. Een absolute aanrader voor een heerlijk aperetief.

Wat is dit een leuke plek! Heerlijke kaasplank besteld; de Verwennerij. Echt een aanrader, mooie kazen met bijpassende uitleg, heerlijke wijnen, heel fijne sfeer, wij zaten aan gezellig plekje aan de bar. Misschien iet/wat druk, de medewerkers liepen de voeten onder hun lijf vandaan maar dat deed niets onder aan de vriendelijkheid en enthousiasme! Zeer zeker een aanrader. Wij komen nog eens terug.

Gisteravond bij de kaasbar een proeverij met 4 bijpassende bieren gehad. Top sfeer, leuke muziek, personeel heeft kennis van de kaas en bieren. Echt een aanrader!
