The coffee replenishes the soul, it is simply superb. No equivalent anywhere in East Amsterdam. There are reasons beyon the coffee to come here, the fact that this is the only place in east where people really sit down for a conversation and share their stories. The owner creates that atmosphere natrually and beautifullly!

This shop is pure magic. Since moving to the area it’s become my main coffee place, and every time I come, the owner and his daughter are the epitome of kindness. I feel like coming here is what it feels like to really be part of a neighborhood. You just feel taken care of. The owner, Eduard, who is here most often, has remembered my name and my dogs’ names since our first visit and just has the warmest way of being. The decor is cozy, and the people who come here are always cozy good vibes too. It just feels like a place full of love! And not to mention that the coffee is GREAT. It has a rich flavor and is probably the best flat white I’ve truly ever had. And I’m kind of a coffee snob. 🤣 They also have delicious cakes and croissants too. Just come here and you’ll understand why it’s such a special spot. 🩷

Nice and rich coffee. I have ordered a flat white and a croissant. The coffee taste really nice. An intense and rich flavour. The establishment is very cute, this type of vintage place, with different old chairs. I thought it was original that they have a self-payment cashier box.

Absolutely love this little gem 💎 the being working was incredibly sweet and genuine. The apple pie may have been the best one I’ve ever had so I ate two of them 🥧 the downstairs is awesome too, the wall is full of book pages about flowers 🌺 I enjoyed the time I spent there very much will happily go back again when I’m craving some apple pie and cozy places to read!

Perfect coffee, very attentive and friendly service

I am sitting here currently, having an old-fashioned black coffee at De Koffie Broeder his terrace. There's people out and about and the city seems to be moving around me, in my quiet bubble - nicely tucked away between a tree and a lantern post. This spot is one I discovered only this morning and it's probably the best, hidden gem there is. What makes it even better is Mr. Koffie Broeder's relaxing way of welcoming and serving you. I don't know him but I would not be surprised if he doubles as a yoga guru, with his calming voice and manners. I feel quite ashamed sitting here with my laptop open like the modern day yuppie I am - and this really is not the place to do so. So right after this review, I will close it back down and enjoy the sounds and sight of Amsterdam waking up.

Gezellige en knusse koffiezaak met heel vriendelijk personeel en een fijn terrasje. De koffie is heerlijk en ik heb nog nooit zo’n lekkere (zelfgemaakte) worteltaart geproefd!

Really good coffee and a delicious croissant with jam. You got sun on the outside terrace during breakfast/lunch. The apple pie taste amazing! Edward the owner worked in a hospital for 31 years and opened this café as a next step in his life. That’s also where the name of the place comes from “Broeder” = male nurse. Great neighborhood cafe ❤️

Excellent small coffee place, with really good coffee and homemade pastry. The owner, who is extremely friendly, is a former nurse (in Dutch broeder), hence the name. Few tables outside.

De Koffie Broeder is een heel gezellig, sfeervol ingericht en ontspannen plekje met een hele vriendelijke eigenaar. Heerlijke koffie en bananencake! Je kan er fijn een krantje lezen of werken.
