De Kul in Strijen

Since the place got a new owner, I think the food is really good! It used to be different, but now it's a big thumbs up and very hospitable and friendly! So I thought I'd give it a try, because I think they deserve it!

Really good food, slightly dated decor. It's a shame not many people come because the food is excellent.

Ordered food here for the first time. Friendly service. The Singapore noodles were way too spicy (you can tell by the color), making them too sticky. The babi pangang bacon with nasi was very good and flavorful. The fish in the aquarium was too small.

I ate here a little over two weeks ago after a day of DIY at my daughter's house in Strijen. I ended up here because I wasn't in the mood for the other local food. I didn't have any special expectations, but what a surprise! I had a teppan dish. The fresh vegetables were nicely stir-fried. The dish was less sweet than elsewhere, which I find not only tastier but also healthier. The meat was very tender. The service was very friendly; we had a great time. But it's mainly the chef who's making me write this review, 这么好吃!

I've been getting food delivered from this junk for years, but this takes the cake. The sauce container for the cha siew is incredibly small. I have to pay extra for every container and plastic bag, and then I have to pay a delivery fee, even though it's less than a five-minute drive from here. The food also cooled down quickly; at least it was lukewarm, as if it had been waiting for delivery for a while. They've also cut back drastically on the food containers. Large strips of cha siew, very little sauce with the babi ketjap, and very little meat. Only the babi pangang was well filled. The fact that I have to pay extra for everything, and then there's the delivery fee, is already outrageous, but the fact that you get a smaller quantity of everything is even worse. I've noticed it the last few times, but this time it was really noticeable. Unfortunately, I haven't seen it again.

I regularly order from you, but I really don't think it's normal that you have to pay an extra 20 cents for plastic and that food has become more expensive again.

We've ordered here four times in the past two weeks due to our renovation, but after today, this is definitely the last time. We ordered Fu Yong Hai – explicitly vegetarian. What do you know after serving? It actually contains chicken. We called right away, explained politely, but the answer was that they wouldn't exchange the meal because it had already been "opened." Seriously? You can't possibly tell from the outside that there's meat in it; you only discover that when you eat it. What if this wasn't a matter of principle, but a food allergy? The consequences would have been unimaginable. That's no way to treat customers. After years of loyal orders, they've ruined their own lives. For a dish that's nothing more than some scrambled eggs, this is truly a hopeless response.

The food tastes good, but the portions are REALLY small. Service: they completely missed the mark after a mistake they made. Customer service was unfriendly. We were all surprised. Takeout only, the lady was friendly.

Ordered €98 worth of food. I had to pay €2.50 for packaging and €6.00 ​​for delivery. The portions of baby pangang were outrageously small. I used to order regularly, but now I don't anymore. The free prawn crackers they offered were a pitifully small slice. By the way, the delivery person was a nice man!

Delicious Chinese food 7 years later: Not anymore!

Three weeks ago, I ate there again, truly fantastic... wonderfully fresh produce and delicious flavor. It's a shame some people criticize this truly good restaurant, but these people should stick to the nassiebal; their culinary knowledge doesn't extend beyond that. I often eat at Jonnie and Therese Boer's in Zwolle; they offer exclusive, top-notch food, but this restaurant is certainly very clean, fresh, and flavorful. See you soon.

Always too late even if you order well in advance Never again

I placed a large order online, it was ready on time, and the welcome was friendly. However, the quality of the food was far below par, as mentioned: -lukewarm/hot food (chicken!!!!) -nasi rice was sticky and had very small grains with raw chopped vegetables in it -tenderloin noodle dish tasteless, the tenderloin was bone dry and very questionable, but was it actually tenderloin? -other complimentary prawn crackers tasteless In short: a big fail, and this was the last straw. I will NOT be eating here again. I can do it 100x better myself, tastier and more honest, traceable food, and in terms of hygiene, we had very easy bowel movements the next day. They also use a lot of MSG, so be careful with heart arrhythmias or a rapid heartbeat. One piece of advice for De Kul... stop this nonsense, this has nothing to do with "Chinese"!

I ordered online at 3 p.m. via their website, with delivery scheduled for 6 p.m. I live three minutes away from the restaurant. By 6:30 p.m., I still hadn't seen a delivery driver. I called, and was told they were on their way and would be there shortly. By 6:50 p.m., still nothing. We decided to eat somewhere else nearby. At 7:10 p.m., I received a call to say the delivery driver was at my door. I told them I'd already gone somewhere else to eat; the food was over an hour late. And if it took the delivery driver 40 minutes for a three-minute drive, the food would be nice and room temperature. So, I asked if I could call to cancel the order from now on. I politely asked the man on the phone if he couldn't also call to say the food would be later than planned, just as he's calling now to say the delivery driver is at my door. Yes, Sundays are always very busy. Well, if it's always so busy, you can also let your customers know by email or phone that their delivery will be delayed. Great service from likmevestje, but the conversation clearly shows they only have their own interests at heart. If you can't fulfill a request three hours in advance, don't accept it, or inform them, and don't let them wait. But hey, everyone has to start somewhere... and with one star, there's plenty of room for improvement, I'd say. And I haven't even tasted the food yet.

The food is delicious, but the wait time for delivery is long. It's a bit of a shame that they still charge €0.20 for plastic containers, even though they stopped charging this some time ago.

I ordered before the store opened on Saturday. I chose the first available time slot. Eventually, I received a call to say the delivery wouldn't be on time. The new delivery deadline was met. A friendly man brought me the hot meals with a warm smile. There were no prawn crackers under the babi pangang. They were neatly placed in a plastic bag. They were in pieces, but that saved me the effort of breaking them.

After the restaurant was acquired, the quality has improved significantly! The food was delicious and ready quickly, despite the crowds. The new owner is also very friendly.

Last time I ordered food there! The food wasn't warm, and instead of the nasi I ordered, we got white rice. The chicken fillet I ordered was fou yon hi, but it came with soggy shrimp—inedible! Of course, I called, but was treated rudely. I had to explain myself three times, and they didn't do anything about it. Never again!

Since January 1st it has been taken over. The food was ready quickly and very tasty.

Ordered food, "Half an hour, sir, if you come pick it up." Drove for 10 minutes and waited an hour and 15 minutes with several other customers. We've been waiting two and a half hours for our food. They can't be reached by phone. The website suddenly says delivery isn't possible. Will we still get our food, or will we have to order from another company? Communication is nonexistent.

Ordered food at 5:00 PM, requested delivery time 6:15 PM, still waiting at 7:30 PM. Called 17 times, no one answered. What a disgrace!

I think the food is great, but it can always be better, of course, but it is my favorite restaurant.

Ordered by telephone, food was ready when I arrived, but not everything. Everything was there. Ordering for 14 people at the same time may be too much to keep an overview.

Order was wrong for the umpteenth time

Long wait for delivery. Then received an incorrect order... mediocre quality. Food cold. NEVER again!

As a new resident of Strijen, you should support your local entrepreneurs! 1st reaction: strange name!! And old stuff. But the food is delicious! And that's no nonsense! Picked up so no experience in the restaurant. What struck me while waiting: a friendly lady behind the counter... but all the lights were off in the area behind the counter. Bring on the mood lighting! Looks just a bit more cozy! Until next time!

Really no service, don't say anything.

Worthless Chinese restaurant, after 7:30 PM many people are still waiting for their order. The waiting time was then still half an hour. I immediately walked out of the tent. Here in Brabant things go a lot smoother.

Eating an hour late, incomplete. Ajam pangang did not smell fresh. All in all a waste of money.

I don't have to fill in anything, the food we ordered was very dirty, overcooked, that shouldn't have happened, just turned it on and I've now been fooled twice by people who said it's fine now, never again.

We are going to this place for food for lot of years but last couple months we r wery dissapointed with portions of bami pangan spek. Used to be so much meat that fed 3persons, this days its just one layer of meat and rest is krup boek. Also meat is just fied fat and not much meat on.

Food really tasted like Kul, lives up to the name... Talking loudly (shouting from the kitchen) in Chinese made me feel like I was in an Asian action movie with Jean Claude Van Damme..

We thought we were enjoying a tasty spring roll. Well not... when we got home and opened it, to my surprise there was only boiled noodles in it (no ham and less vegetables in it). My husband had the same... spring roll with only boiled rice and a few green fries in it and a few pieces of ham. both spring rolls were dripping with fat and were not crispy and you pay more than 6 euros each for that ..... service also very short and very rude ... to me will not see them here again.

It takes a very long time and when you call you are not treated properly

We had a nice meal here with 4 people, and we spent about €25 pp incl. drinks. Friendly service and we will definitely come again.

Has now declined to just a Chinese takeaway with an old traditional menu. Hardly anyone eats there anymore.

Once again delivered more than an hour late for the third and my last time. Do not have it delivered here, or keep the Chinese clock!! They do answer the phone to take orders, but don't bother calling customers if it takes an hour longer.

What a terrible store this is! These people don't take you seriously if you call for the 4th time 3 hours after ordering to find out where the food is. They say that it is dark and the delivery person finds his way more slowly. Never received any food. So if you don't want to be sure that your food will be delivered when you have visitors and you are constantly kept on the line, then order here. If you want to be taken seriously and get your food on time, it is better to order from Chinese restaurant Lila in Puttershoek. WHAT A JOKE!

Ordered food, half an hour late, half lukewarm, prawn crackers were tough, meat too. We received a call during dinner from a customer of theirs, saying that we had his order, never experienced this before. Operator had given our number to the customer, very bad! Never order again, food arrived half an hour early. If there was the wrong container, it had to be exchanged, they said, you would just eat a solid meal. So the rest had to wait until it was brought, conclusion noodles were cold after waiting 20 minutes. And also small bowls of noodles. No thanks for me no more.

Tasty food and reasonable prices!

Om 15.50 besteld met bezorgtijd 17.30. Om 18.00 gebeld. Vaag verhaal. Om 18.10 kwam de bezorger. Eten was koud. Gebeld, weer vaag onverstaanbaar verhaal. Het was koud hè en druk 🙄 gewoon vergeten te laten bezorgen.

Voor €68,- eten besteld. We wisten niet goed online met de 10% korting, we moesten daar ter plekke betalen. Maar kregen niet alsnog netjes de 10% korting als vaste klanten…. Kroepoek wat er bij zat was heel karig , 5 om 5 stukjes en een plak. En we hadden babi pangang spek.. en daar wordt je mee genept, want de onderkant vd bak vullen ze met kroepoek!! Belachelijk zo denk je dus volle bak te krijgen maar dat is dus niet zo. Ik bestel hier nooit meer.

Goede Chinees, lekkere sauzen en goede porties

Eten besteld. De helft gekregen. Gebeld. Wat na gekregen, maar niet wat er besteld was. Das heel slecht en niet de eerste keer.

Eten besteld, bevestiging dat over 40 minuten de bestelling wordt bezorgd. Helaas na 60 minuten geen eten, gebeld en volgens het restaurant was het druk in keuken en bestelling komt er aan. Uiteindelijk heeft het bijna 2 uur geduurd voordat eten werd bezorgd. Na 2e telefoontje was reactie dat het druk in keuken was en bij afleveren dat er een auto kapot was, ja ja. Veel smoesjes. Neem dan gewoon geen bestellingen aan, Als het druk is is dat geen probleem maar zeg dan niet dat eten na zoveel tijd wordt bezorgd, geef aan dat het langer gaat duren zodat de klant dan kan beslissen wel of niet te bestellen. Eten was wel warm/heet en heerlijk. Bestelling niet voor herhaling vatbaar.

Alleen afgehaald en dat is altijd goed

Voor 4 personen een menu met 4 gerechten en 2 extra gerechten besteld. De gebakken banaan was koud, de porties klein, het vlees was in een pap van saus ver te zoeken. Voor 4 personen, niet eens grote eters, was het niet genoeg. Bovendien was de (on line) bestelling weer niet compleet. Als je van je klanten afwilt, moet de Kul zo doorgaan. Voor meer geld krijg je steeds minder. In de bak babi ketjap zaten welgeteld 6 stukjes vlees. De rest was drap. Schandalig. Klagen helpt niet. Dit is de bevestiging van eerdere ervaringen. Geen de Kul meer voor ons. In een dorp als Strijen gaan ze het nog moeilijk krijgen op deze manier. Tijd voor een tweede en betere chinees.

Helaas weer niet gekregen wat ik besteld had , had gevraagd om gerecht zonder vlees , opmerkingen worden dus niet gelezen , echt jammer

Heel goed afhaal buffet voor familie reünie gehaald. Fijn in overleg af te stemmen wat je wilt en hoe laat enz. Top!

Zoals altijd heerlijk gegeten met een prima service.

Redelijk eten tegen redelijke prijzen. Was vroeger kwalitatief wel beter. In de sate en saus overheerst de smaak van gember. Moet je echt van houden.

pretentieloos chinees restaurant. geen chic. maar gezellig dorps eethuis. bezorgd door de hoeksche waard. vriendelijke bediening en accuraat. redelijk geprijsd.

Goede Chinees, afhalen of aanschuiven binnen..... Gewoon doen je gaat ook 5 sterren geven!

Prima eyen alleen klopte bij ons de bestelling niet helemaal

Super snelle bezorging en goed eten ga er waarschijnlijk vaker bestellen.

Goede kwaliteit kwantiteit verhouding, en daar houden Hollanders van!!

De prijs/kwaliteitverhouding is gewoon dik in orde hier. Meerdere malen besteld en ze komen meestal op tijd. Het eten is goed warm en de smaken zijn ook goed. Ik begrijp die lage waarderingen dan ook niet echt.

Veel Chinees eten geprobeerd in omgeving Westmaas sinds we hier zijn komen wonen. De kul is voor ons de lekkerste! Hier blijven wij dan ook bestellen! Ja als je voor bezorging kiest moet je soms even wat langer wachten en betaal je extra. De mensen die zeuren over een uur langer wachten moeten het dan gewoon zelf ophalen,dan heb je dit probleem ook niet. Als je een review achterlaat over een restaurant doe dit dan over voornamelijk het eten en geef geen 1 ster omdat je lang moest wachten op de bestelling.

Alles wat je van een goede frietzaak mag verwachten

om 19:30 besteld (half uur voor sluitingstijd) aan de deur werd al aangegeven dat we laat besteld hadden en de bezorger leek niet blij. eten uitgepakt zien we allemaal half tot lege bakjes en amper saus, alles opgeschept bleek alles ook nog is koud te zijn. dus helaas een flop voor deze keer en een tip voor andere mensen bestel dus niet tegen sluitingstijd !

Heerlijk zitten eten en gastvrijheid

Hebben er al vaak besteld, eigenlijk altijd dik tevreden, netjes in folie zodat het nog altijd warm was als het bezorgt wordt.(klaaswaal). Afgelopen zondag ook weer besteld, maar helaas, niks folie en praktisch alles koud of nog lauw, meeste zo de kliko in..toch zonde!..

Uur van te voren een bestelling doorgegeven, eenmaal daar aangekomen, op de afgesproken tijd kon ik nog zo'n 50min op ons eten wachten! Eten was wel oké.

Altijd goed eten voor een goeie prijs.

Snelle service en goed eten ze bezorgen het zelfs bij je thuis

Als je champignonsoep besteld en er zitten welgeteld 4 plakjes champignon in, maar het is gemaakt van kippenbouillon en het bakje is letterlijk voor de helft gevuld met kip, dan heet dit gewoon kippensoep hoor! Beetje lullig voor een vegetarier... weggegooid geld
