My girlfriend had the mint tea, which was generously filled with fresh mint; she thought it tasted delicious. I had the cappuccino, which also tasted delicious. We had just sat down when the waitress came over quite quickly to take our order. And well, eventually we made a quick stop at the restroom; the toilets were neat and clean. Inside, it was clean and tidy too; you could look right into the kitchen, which was also very tidy. In short, go and enjoy the coffee and the atmosphere here; it is truly worth a visit.

The owners and staff make everything feel special, and like you're coming home. We frequent the Oude Tol, and hosted our baby shower here, and we were accommodated with warmth and friendliness. The food is always delicious! I wouldn't know where to begin with which dishes are the best!

You feel the South African vibes, have a view of the Peace Palace, and smell the delicacies! My South African friend after her favorite chicken mayo toastie and me with a tasty warmed-up slice of banana bread! With rooibos cappuccinos!

Charming, unpretentious and homely cafe-restaurant with the most friendly and welcoming staff. If you’re lucky and South Africa is playing rugby, Roland will throw some authentic boerewors (traditional South African farmer sausages) on the braai.

A nice spot for a simple lunch. The terrace is located on the street, though, so you do notice the (car) traffic. An added positive point is that the terrace appeared to be smoke-free (no-smoking stickers on the window). However, someone lit a cigarette just as we were leaving. But that could also have been a mistake on the part of that smoking person. After all, there were no ashtrays, and that could be a signal. The service was friendly and quick enough.

Even in the rain, you can sit comfortably outside and enjoy a delicious breakfast and coffee. Very friendly service that also accommodates special requests. Highly recommended!

Very nice cafe to get some bites and drinks. Is situated in a very busy road with lots of cars and bikes passing by but still quite cosy to sit out on a terrace and watch all the passers by. Nicely decorated terrace with nice flowers (loved the tulips on side). Inside looked quite cosy as well. Had the vegetarian bitterballen to snack on, which was quite tasty, paired with mustard sauce. Chai latte was quite nice as well, and had some sparkling water for some thirst quenching. Very close to the vredepaleis. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Wanted to try their milk cake but sadly wasn't available when I went, hopefully next time.

I had their cheese burger - quite delicious! And the fries were also good. (Not the least bit greasy.)

What a cozy restaurant with great sun on the terrace. All the staff are super friendly and the food was delicious. 5 stars for the boerie rolls, biltong toastie and chicken mayo (served with great sauces on the side). Yummmmm on their homemade milktart, softly served in a yummy cookie base. Will definitely be back!

We ordered the bitterballen and the African sandwich. Both were excellent. And the wine as well 🍷. To finalize we ordered the apple tart with cream and tea. It was amazing! 🤩🥧 I wanna definitely return!! 💯

We went there 11:45 am and have been told that no breakfast was available because of a big order. We staied there some days before and there we had no problem and the food was good.

Awesome spot. Very small restaurant but well appointed and the outdoor space is great. Even though it rained most of the afternoon, the outside was well covered and we didn’t get wet. They have a bunch of South African classics and the owner is super chilled and happy to adjust the menu if you need anything for an allergy.

Great food & service & not to forget the excellent (South African) Piekenierskloof Wines offered. The Grenache Blanc is probably the best white wine I ever had !

Nice place to have a snack. We ordered bitterballen and shrimp tempura (a lot of tempura and little shrimp) and the famous chicken sandwich. Pretty good but not generous. I asked if the potatoes were homemade, he said yes but they were frozen. The table was dirty when we arrived and I had to ask them to clean it. The cleaning was not very good but the two young people who tend the terrace are very friendly. The homemade lemonade is very expensive for what it is. Generally good.

Service top. Food; really home made, delicious. It is cosy, close to the beach of Scheveningen by tram or a short walk. Next to the Scheveningse Bosjes, a park for a stroll. We had a nice lunch and excellent late night dinner.

Pleasant family business. Fresh products. Heated seats outside. Always a smile, tasty soups and delicious chicken sandwiches. Ideal pit stop on the way to the city or the beach!! Oh yes: clean toilets. We'll be back.

Loved this place! Not only they have amazing coffee, but the owners are super kind and warm. We felt at home. The food 10 points! I even forgot the bottle warmer for my baby and the owner helped me without hesitation for a quick solution. We will definitely come back next time we visit The Hague!

I sought refuge at De Oude Tol when a heavy rain started to fall. What a lovely surprise this café proved to be! Not only did the delightful coffee and a delicious meal warm me up, but the owners took time to have a lovely conversation with me while I waited for the weather to change as well. Huge recommendation!

I discovered this establishment through my colleagues, and since then, I have been regularly enjoying it. Today, I had a Boerewors roll, and it was a delightful taste experience. The food is great, the products are fresh, and the staff is very friendly and smiling. I highly recommend it.

Very friendly staff and great location. The weather was nice enough to sit outside in their charming patio space. I had brunch with a friend and the menu had a good range of choices. I had the avocado toast with an egg and it was very tasty! I would go there again.

Our go-to place for a tasty breakfast or lunch for a good price with a relaxed atmosphere. Also a nice place for a coffee and cake. I often find myself craving the red cappuccino, if you’re not a coffee drinker like myself I would definitely recommend (or if you do drink coffee this is also still worth a try) 😄 With plenty of yummy choices on the menu I would def recommend this place

Best stopover in The Hague - friendly family business - owner, takes time for his guests - gave us valuable tips for visiting The Hague - the food includes rustic South African cuisine - would be happy to come again at any time. Recommendation: Order a Blue Gin Tonic, which was exceptionally mild and delicious.

We loved this quaint little cafe, our server was wonderful, food was good, and wine was great. If I lived here I would visit this place at least twice a week. I believe the owner helped out and he was just friendly as his wait staff.
