Food was nothing special, but okay

A year or two ago, I bought fries for the first time at De Patatzaak in Zuidhorn. I still remember exactly what I said to my wife afterward: "These are some of the tastiest fries I've ever had." Unfortunately, this was a one-time experience. We've ordered three times now, and tonight was the last time. The website states: "Fries prepared the way they should be. Finely striped potato cut from potatoes that come straight from the field. This way, we create the purest fries there is. Made with craftsmanship." The fries we got the last two times were simply frozen and the same fries as at any other snack bar. That has nothing to do with craftsmanship. For real, artisanal fries, we'd be better off driving a bit further, to Haarlem to be precise. That's where De Frietkamer is located, and they do sell genuine, artisanal fries. The potatoes arrive whole and are then processed into fries in the store. In short, it's a real shame that the fries are currently different than the website suggests. Tonight was our last order. Hopefully, the real artisanal fries will return again, and then maybe we will too.

We thought the food was good. The atmosphere wasn't really cozy. We thought it was a bit cold. But the service was great. Friendly bakers!!

Burger was disappointing and the sauce was wrong, satay was tasty

Had a delicious, fresh burger. The meat is really good! Friendly staff. Highly recommended.

I asked for fries in a bag but unfortunately got two containers instead, although the fries were tasty. The snacks weren't very good. I ordered here because the chef was on vacation, but it was a huge disappointment.

In May 2022, I inquired about the ingredients of certain products. Based on the information provided, I regularly placed orders between May 2022 and July 2023. In July 2023, I discovered that Thuisbezorgd listed different allergy information than what De Patatzaak had told me in May 2022. I checked with De Patatzaak, and guess what? They had already misinformed me back then. Apparently, they don't take allergies and/or dietary requirements very seriously. Absolutely unacceptable.

Called at 7:20 PM, they said they had already turned off the fryer. Ridiculous, beyond words. You are open until 7:30 PM, now I'm going to starve, very unfortunate.

Geen ondernemers, lijkt wel een stage project. Staan maar wat interessant te kletsen en hebben totaal geen aandacht voor de gast.

Update 10/10/22: Gisteren weer heen gegaan aangezien ze hadden aangeboden dit op te lossen. De oplossing was om één portie patat gratis te krijgen, helemaal prima! Dit keer was de patat super lekker knapperig en echt een aanrader! Vooral met stoofvlees kan ik echt aanraden 😀 Gisteren hier een kleine friet zonder en een vega eierbal gehaald. Van te voren gebeld en het was netjes op tijd klaar. De patat viel mij wat tegen, niet lekker krokant. En ik ben persoonlijk geen fan van zulke dikke frietjes. De portie patat was wel flink! Het was mij zelfs wat te veel.. De vega eierbal was goed. Fijn dat er ook vega opties zijn!

Laatst een portie friet met ribs gehaald. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar. Frikandel speciaal was ook om te smullen! Jullie hebben een nieuwe vaste klant er bij.

Wat hebben wij hier heerlijke patat gegeten. Lekker krokant en goed op smaak. Ook echt zoals ze vroeger gemaakt werden met schil erom. Hier gaan we zeker vaker bestellen.
