De Smaeken van Hamelink is a true family business with a passion for the craft, and you can tell. Not only fantastic ice cream with unique flavors, but also always a smile and a great atmosphere.

We visited Smaecken van Hamelink recently; it's a super nice place! We've heard a lot of good things about it, and they certainly lived up to expectations. Our twins were amazed by all the different ice cream flavors and thoroughly enjoyed it. 🍦 The coffee was also very good, so for us, it was the perfect experience. A cozy place with tasty products and a nice atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

Last week, we visited this lovely little bakery/ice cream parlor for the first time. The people working there were very friendly and helped us well with our choices. Additionally, everything was really delicious, so it is definitely recommended. We will be back again soon!!

Top-notch hospitality Besides pastries, breads, and other treats, Abel and Karin offer the tastiest and most affordable coffee/tea with pastries, and of course, a wide selection of the best homemade ice cream in the Netherlands. And now also delicious sandwiches with fillings. Tip: try the iced coffee, so delicious in this warm weather. A real must-visit, where everyone is welcomed with hospitality. An absolute asset to Baarn!!!

More than just an ice cream parlor. Delicious rolls are made to order. Everyone is incredibly friendly. We felt very comfortable. We were here during our vacation. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely stop by.

This is really such a lovely place!! Truly delicious sandwiches for lunch that you can enjoy on the outdoor terrace when the weather is nice, or otherwise inside. I don't know of any place where you can still have such an affordable and tasty lunch these days (unless you buy a sandwich at the supermarket and eat it while walking :-)). And the ice cream there, so flavorful. They serve big scoops too. I'm a fan!!

Known in Baarn for years and still the tastiest ice cream

Super tasty yogurt ice cream, and reasonably priced too, I must say. The fact that the ice cream is low sugar is also nice (and even then, it tastes very sweet and lovely)! Highly recommended!

Delicious scoop ice cream in so many different flavors, hard to make a choice. Many flavors with less sugar, but you don't notice it at all, truly delicious ice cream!

This is the most expensive ice cream I had in my whole life. And one of the worst. Completely regretting of not just going to the supermarket and grtting a Ben & Jerrys.

I ran to Baarn today, and as if they knew I had already put in 16 km, I got a ridiculously big ice cream again 😋 Always surprising new flavors, and almost never does one disappoint. This entrepreneur is located in a fantastic spot in the center of Baarn. It is simply a pleasant place. Many passersby stop here for an ice cream on their way. Naturally, I couldn't be left behind. It is nice that there are benches and tables to enjoy your treat. You have also come to the right place for bread.

Never had such a delicious affogato: amazing double espresso (Boot coffee) and two scoops of vanilla ice cream. 😋 Perfection in simplicity.

Delicious ice cream with little sugar

The website states that you are open until 8:00 PM. We drove all the way to you on Monday specifically and arrived at 7:40 PM. Upon arrival, the lights were on as usual when we entered. The staff, two young girls, told us that they were closed and had already cleaned everything. We pointed out that the website stated they would be open for another fifteen minutes, but they ignored this and sent us away. I find your ice cream delicious, but I found the way we were treated very inappropriate and a real shame!

Nasty cappuccino and sandwiches mediocre too, quality is terrible but the prices shockingly high.. Yuck, never again.. And now I get the response from the owner/incompetent that she knows nothing about it. Get off your chair for once and take a walk around the guests.

BEST ICE CREAM IN THE WORLD WOW

It's a shame this is the only ice cream parlor in Baarn. Why? Because the ice cream is okay, but nothing special. The prices are also very high: €1.70 for a scoop and €1.10 for a dollop of whipped cream. That's just not right. Especially when you compare it to ice cream parlors with excellent ice cream in the surrounding area, such as Huizen, Bilthoven, and Blaricum. You'd expect these parlors in the Gooi region to be even more expensive than De Smaecken, but the average price at these three parlors is €1.25 per scoop and €0.60 for whipped cream. In other words: something really needs to change if I'm going to buy ice cream at De Smaecken van Hamelink again.

A gem in Baarn. Excellent value for money. Unique concept! High-quality bread without additives or E-numbers. They're actually more of an ice cream parlor and bakery. But they also serve lunch. When you see their prices, you might initially think they're inaccurate, or that they're simple sandwiches with barely any fillings. Or that the quality might be poor. But the sandwiches are top-quality, generously topped with quality meat or cheese. They don't have an extensive menu, but they are very tasty. The seating is great, in a beautiful historic building in the center of Baarn. Friendly service, although you have to order inside and pick up your sandwich at the cash register (a 1-meter walk). However, there are two people constantly selling ice cream and they indicate upfront that they don't serve you. They have fantastic ice cream, with 20% less sugar than a standard ice cream parlor and they use pure fruit. They have unique flavors, and I've rarely had such delicious ice cream. The coffee is also very good, and you get a free mini ice cream with your coffee. A really nice owner who took the time to explain how they make their ice cream and what ingredients go into their bread. A business with a passion for quality food and drinks. I'll definitely be back! I haven't had such a good and affordable lunch in the past year. I almost never come across lunchrooms where they generously fill sandwiches without any additives for prices between €3 and €4.50. They often have new flavors; we get ice cream here every week! In short, highly recommended! Had ice cream and got cookies with my kids, what a treat! Really delicious, the coconut macaroni was really worth it. And as an Indo very critical of ‘spekkoek’ flavor, the ice cream really tasted like spekkoek :)

Small bakery with one of the tastiest ice cream parlors. Can't say anything about their sandwiches and such. But I've cycled here 3 times especially for the ice cream.

Het eten is er altijd goed, de bediening ook.. maar vanmorgen kwamen wij er 2 minuten voor 10 om brood te halen en werden we weggestuurd omdat ze nog niet geopend waren. En dat ging op een nogal onvriendelijke manier 😕

Very disappointing on a Saturday afternoon. Hospitality is hard to find, and I feel financially cheated. We were shown out of the tent an hour before closing time, the toilet had been cleaned and could no longer be used, the music suddenly went loud, all the lights went on and the tent was swept annoyingly loudly, in short, we were urgently requested to leave the tent as soon as possible. And then the bill said € 6.85 for a small filling cookie. To err is human, but when asked, the owner insisted that this was the correct price for what had been eaten. All other cookies in the display case had a price tag, (except for this one, coincidentally) and so I just paid it. Tip for the owner: tell him that you would like to close, then I would have gone one door further.

During the nativity scene route, I was 'lured' in by the wonderful smell of apple turnovers. “Two of those please.” And oh how delicious it tasted! To die for...

Compliments for the ice cream, which contains all kinds of cookie pieces and the like. That gives the ice cream bite and flavor. Personal favorites so far are the cherry mania and caramel sea salt. Really delicious! Friendly owners too.

Best ice cream I’ve had in the NL so far ( and I was born here ) ! Perfect number of choices , huge scoops and oh so rich flavors … You should taste those huge chunks of chocolate in your straciatella . Also , really pretty authentic place with many tables on the terrace . 10/10 recommend .

This ice cream parlor simply cannot be beat, that's it! Just get your ice cream here and even people with diabetes can eat a diabetes-friendly ice cream here. That makes me give 5 stars! Taste, quality and price ratio are excellent and friendly, ambitious staff.

Bought Soesterzoen. A sugared fritter with fruit filling. €2.25 I was disappointed with the taste. It gave me the experience of a lot of dough with a single spoonful of jam and a lot of sugar on top of the product. This can be better.

Great ice cream, amount and quality match the price. Their whipped cream is a must. Great bakery too, from bread to cookies to fruit pastries - I'd recommend the apricot pastry, they will even warm them up for you. They also have good coffee (Boot koffie) for an ice cream place.

Super ice cream, lots of flavors so difficult to make a choice, I couldn't resist getting another one, one container wasn't enough. This is number 1 in our top ten. Beautiful shop where it is also a good place to enjoy a delicious cappuccino and we have not yet eaten the pastries and bread, it also looks delicious. We will definitely come back more often

Een leuke ijswinkel die zeker een bezoekje waard is. De ijssmaken zijn interessant en de gebruikte room is niet voor niets expliciet genoemd. Het is duidelijk terug te proeven.

Veel soorten ijs, al eens eerder geweest. Vorige keer smaakte de twee smaken veel naar vanille met iets erdoorheen. De vanille is lekker. Deze keer weer : De caramel zeezout was vanille ijs met koek er doorheen. Dat lijkt mij niet te kloppen. Smaken mogen wel wat beter gedoseerd worden. Met z'n 3en 12 euro voor een ijsje.

Voor mij is er nergens beter ijs te verkrijgen. Echt ontzettend lekker!

Super heerlijk ijs en veel keuze. Ze scheppen ook grote bollen, dus zeker waard. Ik had ook een 'Baarns Liefje' meegenomen met kersen en banketbakkersroom, het smaakte erg vers, alleen proefde ik geen banketbakkersroom?? Leek mij namelijk de meest geweldige combinatie, dus wellicht moet de vulling hiervan dikker.
