De Taverne in Millingen aan de Rijn

It wasn't a Michelin-starred restaurant, but certainly good. Had a satay and a salad with fries. It was just good, I had a delicious meal. Friendly staff.

Special welcome, special woman. Ordered a drink, a tonic; this had been in the fridge for a while and had no carbonation left. The lady offered another drink, but the carbonation had disappeared from that one too. Finally, it was a sparkling water; you guessed it, the last bubbles left the glass. The food, bami pangang, was served neatly separately; the rice was hard and grainy. I had a nasi rames speciaal. I hadn't ordered the speciaal, but oh well. In the end, it was bami rames speciaal, unfortunately no nasi, a mistake. Naturally, the lady apologized, but I just let it go. The dish was, well, let's keep it polite, too bad, everything served on the plate. Turns out on the spot that the food is more expensive than takeout. Unusual, I've never heard of that before. I don't think Xi will be happy about this.

Lekker gegeten, en verder prima bediening. Wat wel erg tegenvalt zijn de Amsterdamse prijzen van de wijnen. € 6,45 voor een glaasje wit (of het idd minimaal 100 ml is vraag ik me af) en € 6,95 voor een rood glaasje is geheel buiten proporties. In Nijmegen zijn deze prijzen vele malen goedkoper.

Always good and tasty food here, no matter what we order. We are always very satisfied! Owner is also very friendly, we like coming here.
