I have rarely been so disappointed in a restaurant. The food was downright bad - tasteless, served lukewarm and did not seem fresh at all. Even the simple dishes were inedible. What made it worse was the attitude of the staff. They were unfriendly, disinterested and made you feel like you were bothering them with your presence. No smile, no service, no apologies - nothing. I definitely do not recommend this restaurant. For good food and a nice atmosphere, you better go somewhere else.

The hair salon was ready quickly and the owner was friendly. However, the fries were bizarrely soft while I ate the kapsalon in the shop. Tasted okay otherwise.

Based on the good reviews, I decided to pick up a durum döner here. Unfortunately, this one was very disappointing. The durum and meat were cold after a 2-minute walk, the garlic sauce was thin and did not taste good. The meat was also not what I am used to from döner in terms of taste and juiciness. All in all a major disappointment

We ended up here looking for a not-too-expensive way to get something to eat. Excellent lentil soup and once a Köffte platter. Everything was fresh and tasty and the gentlemen on site were very nice and helpful.

This was the tastiest (vegetarian) lahmacun I have ever eaten. 15 types of vegetables and tasty sauce. And that for the reasonable price of 5.49. Fast and professional service, friendly atmosphere. So it can be done this way.

We were just standing in the restaurant talking about 16 years ago that we bought sandwiches from you at school. We just took 2 sandwiches home and came to the conclusion that all the good things about a doner sandwich were in it and the bad aspects were not. We will get a sandwich from you again more often! Due to circumstances it had been a long time since I had eaten here. While we used to come here often, even during or after work. With in my memory the best Dorūm ever. Well filled with meat and delicious salad. Made a special stop today while traveling by train. But what a downer. Maybe just hit badly on Monday night. Taste was good but the filling, in terms of salad at least, was meager. I actually think 3 stars is a lot. Shame.

Delicious baklava from a friendly owner.

If you order via home delivery (some time ago) and your food only arrives after 2 hours, you will be told that it would have been better to call and order directly. They do have delicious food so we tried it again. This time just call directly. Ordering was difficult because there was constant shouting in the background over the telephone conversation, but ok. After 2 hours I called again to find out where the food is, only to be told that they had not written anything down. An apology is not possible, the only thing they ask is "whether you still want to order or not". They make great food, but I will never order from here again!!

For the umpteenth time no sauce and things are missing when you order. It just makes me angry

After a few years of no Deniz, it was high time to order a Döner sandwich again. It tasted delicious again, but the delivery of the sauce had gone wrong: ordered 1 super Döner sandwich with everything on it except sambal, plus two containers of extra garlic sauce. Received 1 super Döner sandwich without sauce on it plus 1 container of sambal sauce and 1 container of garlic sauce separately. Delicious food here, shame about the language barrier.

Very tasty specialties such as baklava. A good baker works here, basically everything tastes good.

I grew up in Alkmaar, lived in Berlin for a while and now live in Amsterdam. Yet nowhere have I eaten such delicious Lamacun or Döner Kebab as here, even though Berlin is the Döner capital. The Lamacun is freshly prepared, the meat is of good quality and deliciously grilled, you get many different vegetables (such as the lightly pickled red cabbage) and the homemade sambal sauce is second to none. Worth a trip!

The tastiest in the neighborhood

It's my favorite place for vegetarian Turkish pizza. The pizza is rolled up with salad, raw vegetables and delicious sauces. I just don't find this level of yumminess at other similar restaurants. Deniz is also conveniently located across from Alkmaar Station.

Very friendly service, food as delicious as anywhere else

Owner has no respect for women. I’m a solo female traveller with a disability. He ignored me numerous times when I asked him to explain in English the ingredients of the food I was choosing to eat and then when I went to pay he didn’t accept my MasterCard and they charge 75 cent to use the toilet! Using the loo was the only pleasant experience during my 20 minutes or so in this ‘restaurant’ because I could get away from the ignorant Turkish owner :))))

The food is delicious, but you have to have enough time when you come here as it takes quite a while before your food is ready.

Fast service, but that's how it tastes. Especially if you have to eat a haircut without a fork on the train. And the Turkish pizza contains cartilage in the little bit of meat you get... not worth repeating!

I am sold a burnt simit, I return it and the employee says "that's normal" and shrugs her shoulders.

These guys are a notch above the average kebab-place. They have real Turkish dishes: you get the same you'd get in more expensive Turkish restaurant, for a fraction of the price. And there was so much we could hardly finish our plate! Would go again

Been very satisfied with this Turkish bakery for 20 years. Very tasty Donor kebab. Turkish pizza or round (Italian model) pizza with Turkish sausage is also very tasty. My preference is the bakery in Overdie (Thomas à Kempislaan 68, 1813 LH Alkmaar). Just a bit different than at the station. Everyone has their preference.
